We ended the last day of school at the mission with a bang! I brought my dad's moon-walk (the big blow up bouncy house) and we had cookies and swam in the pool. The kids loved it! I know everyone had a great time. For me, it was really fun to just relax and play in the pool with the kids. I'm even teaching a few how to swim, especially Fernanda. She used to come to the mission for after school help but then with summer almost here her and a lot of the kids didn't need help so they stopped coming. So what's been really great is having the pool where all the kids congregate. This way I'll have their attention and then be able to do the Bible story. I really feel like great things are happening!
It's nice to be able to talk to the kids at their level and for them to trust and accept me as someone they can talk to. With the summmer here, new things will be happening. I'm looking forward to having the Whirlwind Missions summer teams come help with Backyard Bible Clubs. I want to reach the kids in a more spiritual way. I want to learn what their goals are and help them achieve them. During the summer the kids will have so much time to nothing I hope that I'll be able to fill it up with the game, parties and Bible. I hope to lead most of the children to Jesus!
Pray that this summer will be a summer they'll never forget because it was the summer they found the Lord! He is the eternal sunshine! Remember that when you're standing in His glory this summer!
