Passion! That's what I think when I think missions. That exciting feeling about new people learning about Jesus and the urgency to start the program now! When my partner, Marc told me about the new English class he wanted to start at Spring Chase this is the word that came to my mind. I want to get out of my car right then, go to people's doors and bring them to class. Passion comes to mind when I talk to my dad about missions. His passion for the ministry defiantly has rubbed off on me. I always get excited when he talks to me about what he believes will happen in my future involving the ministry. Every time I want to just GO! Get started and make a difference.
I'm passionate about my work. I love going in to the classroom and having the kids run to me. I love seeing the kid's grades improve. You can see that you're really special to these kids. They look up and depend on you. If you're not there no one is. Every day I leave the mission with a feeling of satisfaction. This is where I'm supposed to be. Where else do you get this feeling?
This Monday I put up a Prayer Request board in the classroom for my kids. I forgot to tell them about it, but when I looked at it at the end of the day there were tons of children's requests. It made me so happy. Thanks to all your prayers the children are opening up to us and letting us bring light into their lives.
As a senior in high school, I'll be graduating in less than seven months. I'm so excited about the new work. I hope to take a mission trip and gain more experience. I'm ready to hit the ground running for Jesus! Please pray that God will give me guidance in the right direction.
