Progress Report - 2005
- Whirlwind Missions has continued to grow around Metro Atlanta. We have expanded into Gainesville, Villa Rica, Forest Park, Marietta, Cumming, Scottdale, Avondale Estates and Austell. Our work also covers Norcross, Chamblee, Doraville, Tucker, Atlanta, Duluth, Clarkston, Conyers, Lawrenceville as well as Dekalb, Gwinnett and Fulton Counties.
- During one week of the Summer, we had nearly 1,200 volunteers in 52 locations. Over 2,000 volunteers worked in our missions this Summer. We hosted over 2,500 volunteers this year.
- We have regular ongoing work in 34 complexes around Metro Atlanta.
- Our web site, www.whirlwindmisions.org is the model for apartment ministry in America. There is an extensive Training section which spells out in detail how to start ministry.
- We have over 18,000 photos on line which include virtual tours of every mission, pictures of every team that has worked with us as well as donations, Outreach Events and Training Material.
- We have added new partners including Blackshear Place Baptist Church, Sugarloaf Community Church, Restoration Church of God, East Cobb Presbyterian, Crossroads Church, Roswell United Methodist Church, E. Lanier Presbyterian, and Sweetwater BC.
- Our new business partners include GNLI institute, Carmel Wholesale and Electronic Maintenance, Inc.
- Tim has served in mission conferences at FBC Atlanta, Grace Fellowship, Peachtree Corners BC, Midway Macedonia BC, Blackshear Place BC and FBC Conyers amongst others.
- We are expanding our services to include medical missions. We partnered with St. Joseph's Hospital to host a health fair.
- We were involved with renovations of FBC Doraville where our HQ is located.
- We have expanded our partnership with the Police departments and have ongoing work with the Dekalb PD, Chamblee PD, Doraville PD, Fulton County and Gwinnett County PD.
- We hosted Campus Crusade college students in 50 complexes with over 500 students handing out food to needy families and sharing the Gospel with them!
- We have had over 209 people accept Christ as their savior this year!
