I had lunch this morning with Bob Wiley, he\u2019s in charge of Multi-Housing ministry in Georgia.\u00a0 I am still amazed that he hadn\u2019t heard of what I\u2019ve been doing in this area.\u00a0 I also enjoyed having Bennett Ekandem along with us for that meeting.\u00a0 Hopefully, we can get even more churches engaged because of Bob\u2019s help.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been at the office catching up on email for the last couple of hours.\u00a0 My internet has been dead at my house (and according to Comcast in the three surrounding neighborhoods) for the last 5 days!\u00a0 That\u2019s not zesty!<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve moved a lot of the information I use regularly to be web based.\u00a0 Pretty tough if you can\u2019t get to the web!<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Monday, January 15, 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Ashley and I worked together today!\u00a0 She always makes every day better.<\/p>\n We started out in Lawrenceville where we picked up a bunch of jackets and coats that one of the Sunday School classes had collected for our ministry.<\/p>\n Then we headed over to Huntington Ridge on Buford Highway.\u00a0 They had a fire this weekend which destroyed four apartments. I met with Ben Sawyer, the director of that mission, and we left the coats and blankets we collected in Lawrenceville.\u00a0 I\u2019ll go back and collect the rest of what\u2019s left over and take them to Ashley\u2019s mission in Clarkston next week.<\/p>\n We went by my office at First Baptist Doraville to check on mail, do a quick clean up and rearrange my collection of Outreach Updates.\u00a0 I wanted to sort all the originals.\u00a0 I was SO glad when I found the first year\u2019s collection!<\/p>\n We also did a little shopping at Perimeter Mall.\u00a0 Ashley was still feeling kind of under the weather so I wanted to cheer her up a bit.\u00a0 Shopping pretty much always does that.<\/p>\n Kathy went back to the hospital to check on her Mom.\u00a0 Apparently she\u2019s doing better.\u00a0 I\u2019m still not sure she\u2019s able to come back to our house to stay, but that\u2019s probably what will end up happening.\u00a0 If she keeps falling I just wonder about her safety.\u00a0 The doctor\u2019s still don\u2019t really know what\u2019s going on\u00a0 with her.\u00a0 Makes me wish we had House to take on the case.\u00a0 I reckon TV\u2019s not the real world, eh?<\/p>\n I talked with Steve Nolen from Crosspointe today.\u00a0 He gave me some great news about their team working in a new apartment complex.\u00a0 They\u2019ve had about 12 people accept the Lord and many waiting on Baptism!\u00a0 EXCELLENT!<\/p>\n I\u2019m probably going to the library today to try and catch up on my email.\u00a0 Internet at my house has been out for 5 days now.\u00a0 I\u2019ll put all this stuff on the blog in one whack.<\/p>\n Peace.<\/p>\n Sunday, January 14, 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Ashley has been sick the last couple of days.\u00a0 She seems better today.\u00a0 I took her out for breakfast and I\u2019ve been trying to help take care of her.<\/p>\n Kathy got home after watching her mom for two days.\u00a0 Sure did miss her.\u00a0 Her mom seems better.\u00a0 I\u2019m glad about that.<\/p>\n Ran 5.2 miles this afternoon.<\/p>\n Peace.<\/p>\n \u00a0Saturday, January 13, 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n I went over to Emory Hospital to check on Kathy and Nell.\u00a0 Kathy seemed to be doing ok but her mom was really out of it.\u00a0 She was feeding herself with an imaginary fork and thinking there were spiders in the room.\u00a0 Pretty sad.<\/p>\n I also checked out the Carlos Museum of antiquity which was just around the corner from the library.\u00a0 They had an exhibition on Indian art that was interesting.\u00a0 Of course I always enjoy looking at the mummies and the Roman antiquities.<\/p>\n Ashley hasn\u2019t been feeling well.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been trying to help her feel better.<\/p>\n Worked out when I got home.<\/p>\n Peace.<\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n Friday, January 12, 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n Kathy found her mom lying on the floor at 8:30am this morning.\u00a0 We helped her back into bed but she was very disoriented.\u00a0 Kathy called her sister Ann who lives nearby and is a nurse.\u00a0 They decided that it was time to take her to the ER and have her checked out again because of loss of strength in her legs and her labored breathing.<\/p>\n Ann took her over to the hospital at about 10:30am.\u00a0 K and I got a bite to eat and then she went on over to the hospital to be with her mom and sister.\u00a0 She spent the night with her mom last night.<\/p>\n Ashley and Jesse and I went out for Thai last night, then over to Borders book store.\u00a0 I always like looking at books.\u00a0 I bought a new dictionary and thesaurus last night.\u00a0 Simple pocket one, but pretty comprehensive.<\/p>\n We also bought some new mollies and platies.\u00a0 I\u2019ll acclimatize them to the salt water tonight.<\/p>\n Our internet has been off and on, mostly off since Thursday.\u00a0 There were four Comcast trucks at the top of our street trying to fix it.\u00a0 Some kind of outage in the whole area.<\/p>\n Ran 2.5 miles and picked up trash\u2014about 5 big garbage bags full.\u00a0 I really hate it when the roads near my house get littered up.\u00a0 I pick up my mile route just about once a week.\u00a0 I ran a different direction just to clean that section of the road up.\u00a0 You get a totally different impression of the neighborhood when it\u2019s clean and tidy.<\/p>\n Peace.<\/p>\n \n Thursday, January 11, 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n Worked on my financial report at the office.\u00a0 Did my email and vlog.\u00a0 Worked on blocking out some of the light into my office.\u00a0 This time of the year it really blinding and it\u2019s hard to see the computer screen.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got some window glare material coming that sticks to the glass by static electricity.\u00a0 That\u00a0 should help a lot.<\/p>\n Went to the mission to check on the kids.\u00a0 Took them more ink for the printer.<\/p>\n
