I&#8217;m primarily using aloe vera to treat it.  Plant based medicine vs plant based attack! Plus a cocoa butter lotion.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-HmWsW3P\/0\/f04170ba\/L\/IMG_7752-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With the dry weather, I decided to work on cleaning the carpet.  Hard job!<\/p>\n<p>First, I do a deep scrub.  I mix hot water with some Oxyclean and pour a pattern on the carpet.  Then scrub it in with a stiff broom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-btg76cn\/0\/655c6acf\/L\/IMG_7756-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-cCW6fJJ\/0\/bba6bb38\/L\/IMG_7755-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-SkTHTd7\/0\/bda82030\/L\/IMG_0636-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It looks way better after the deep scrub.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-RJPxZCL\/0\/938c3b31\/L\/IMG_7757-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then I go to Lowes to rent the Bissell carpet cleaner.  It sprays product onto the carpet then vacuums it up.  Or at least most of it.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-MkvmMRx\/0\/f96732fe\/L\/IMG_0638-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nI used my sister-in-law&#8217;s machine last time, but it didn&#8217;t get near the dirt out that this machine does.  It looks pretty gross.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-tz8Jmp3\/0\/0800c902\/L\/IMG_7758-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nFinished product. I save about $100 and do a WAY better job than the &#8220;pros&#8221; do.  Mainly because they don&#8217;t take the time (1.5 hours) to scrub it properly.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-5GLWJww\/0\/d1a79b7e\/L\/IMG_7759-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-GHh62rf\/0\/28b4bd7e\/L\/IMG_7760-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I picked up a lot of carpet fibers that get sucked up.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-Ms5Vrt6\/0\/839cb433\/M\/IMG_0639-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t even measure the scrubbing part!  I know how long it took, however.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Spanish-Carpet-41121\/i-Jjd95fk\/0\/7db548bf\/L\/IMG_7761-L.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I worked on the carpet from about 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM without a break. The trip to Lowes to get the machine and then again to turn it in usually takes about 45 minutes in all, if not more.<\/p>\n<p>Transported two squirrels today. It&#8217;s no big deal for me to go get it.
