Azalea! 9.1.21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had our version of Hurricane Ida effects this morning.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-T8mfgDZ\/0\/241dc720\/L\/IMG_4570-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>About 5:30 AM the power went off in our house.  That&#8217;s never zesty.  It turned out that a dead tree in our neighbor&#8217;s yard fell and tore down the power, telephone and cable TV lines in our neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-Lbfbm2W\/0\/ca216425\/M\/IMG_4561-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-S9CPQ2T\/0\/7ea21be9\/M\/IMG_4569-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The wires completely blocked our driveway so we couldn&#8217;t leave. The tree was massive.  The sound of chainsaws started around 6:00 AM.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-DDrkc6F\/0\/a57af274\/M\/IMG_4562-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-Sk4Jggv\/0\/ac423e9d\/M\/IMG_4563-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It tore the telephone pole in half.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-h6R7Qcj\/0\/5078b5a0\/L\/IMG_4564-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-6975cdp\/0\/eb90ad9a\/L\/IMG_4565-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>OYB!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-FV6dpk9\/0\/12655dcb\/L\/IMG_4571-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I thought it was interesting that the Bible talked about the light shining in the darkness, because it was REALLY dark this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The power company had a fleet of trucks to work on the situation.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-V9B4kTs\/0\/fad503c8\/M\/IMG_4574-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They yanked the old pole out of the ground.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-CXQtNDX\/0\/53440a44\/L\/IMG_4578-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dug the old pole out and expanded the hole.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-4MRdVbS\/0\/2fe829d9\/L\/65219117951__6A557FDB-B94C-437F-9446-56EF638661A0-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nPut the new pole in.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-pBr92qt\/0\/79d1f65a\/L\/IMG_4590-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hooked the wires to the new pole.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Something-Different\/Wires-Down-Azalea-9121\/i-TLmNrQT\/0\/b1df6f8a\/L\/IMG_4592-L.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We got power back on after about six hours.  The team said that there were THOUSANDS of these poles knocked over by Ida.  Wow.<\/p>\n<p>ATT came next to put up their wire.  They did us a massive favor by tying the cable line back up too so we could get out of our house without damaging the cable.  Unfortunately, it&#8217;s still on the ground at our neighbor&#8217;s house.
