{"id":1520,"date":"2010-02-18T01:17:04","date_gmt":"2010-02-18T05:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=1520"},"modified":"2010-02-18T01:17:04","modified_gmt":"2010-02-18T05:17:04","slug":"chamblee-managers-and-12-stone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=1520","title":{"rendered":"Chamblee Managers and 12 Stone!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>J and I went to Chamblee this morning for our Chamblee-Doraville Property Manager&#8217;s Association meeting. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Partners\/Chamblee-Doraville-Managers1\/IMG0010\/791051107_EnwQ2-S.jpg\" alt=\"c\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Partners\/Chamblee-Doraville-Managers1\/IMG0009\/791051074_64MvB-S.jpg\" alt=\"t\" \/><\/p>\n<p> Overall, kind of a sad meeting.  Crime is back on the increase, particularly violent gang related problems.<\/p>\n<p>On the way to the meeting I made some phone calls.  One situation in particular has me really upset.  One of my partners has left his wife, shacked up with a woman and is now saying he&#8217;s not even a Christian any more.  He was a strong church leader and missionary for years.  It&#8217;s heart breaking.  We&#8217;re left trying to pick up the pieces of shattered lives.  With small children and infants involved it&#8217;s particularly sad.<\/p>\n<p>I found out that one of the kids that came to our mission at Azalea from time to time was killed last weekend.  He was caught in a shooting that was supposed to be for his older brother, a known gang banger.<\/p>\n<p>Really shook up the kids at the mission.  Chris was only in 6 grade. What a bummer.  Man, what a day.<\/p>\n<p>After our meeting in Chamblee, we went to Lawrenceville to meet up with a new partner from 12 Stone Church.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0013\/791051210_taH4y-S.jpg\" alt=\"c\" \/><\/p>\n<p> I took Emily over to Olde Salem to introduce her to the manager there and show her around the property.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0014\/791051232_iDyTD-S.jpg\" alt=\"t\" \/><\/p>\n<p> I&#8217;m very excited that some wonderful ministry will start because of that meeting!<\/p>\n<p>Then back to Chamblee to help the kids with their homework and a couple of the mom&#8217;s with their English.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0023\/791051521_56FuU-S.jpg\" alt=\"m\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0021\/791051470_So9Fs-S.jpg\" alt=\"j\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0022\/791051500_AKRoG-S.jpg\" alt=\"h\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/Missions\/Azalea-Place\/Azalea-Mission-21710\/IMG0017\/791051351_STaA5-S.jpg\" alt=\"c\" \/><br \/>\nWorking on admin tasks now.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a little after midnight now.  I&#8217;m not supposed to have any solid food at all until noon on Friday.  That&#8217;s when I&#8217;m scheduled for my colonoscopy procedure.<\/p>\n<p>I think the prep is going to be worse than the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve had a lot of headaches lately.  I&#8217;m not looking forward to dealing with no food plus headache.
