{"id":302,"date":"2008-03-12T22:56:14","date_gmt":"2008-03-13T02:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=302"},"modified":"2008-03-12T22:56:14","modified_gmt":"2008-03-13T02:56:14","slug":"302","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=302","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did nearly 120 miles of driving today.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a lot of time in the car!<\/p>\n<p>Started out at the North American Mission Board HQ up in Alpharetta.\u00a0 Every month I give a short seminar on how to mobilize volunteers.\u00a0 There have been years where nearly 10% of all the volunteers for N. America came through our missions in Atlanta!\u00a0 It&#8217;s always a fun time for me.\u00a0 After I spoke they had me sit down and gathered around me to pray.\u00a0 I just started weeping again over the situation with Jesse.\u00a0 I really don&#8217;t know how people that aren&#8217;t Christians cope.\u00a0 No support group must be just horrific.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the afternoon I spent at Huntington Ridge apartments with my partner Bill Hickey.\u00a0 You may remember him as a man that reminds me of my Grandfather, even though he&#8217;s only 10 years older than me.\u00a0 I reckon people will start seeing me as a grandfather type soon!\u00a0 Did I mention I turn 50 this year?\u00a0 Ay caramba!<\/p>\n<p>My partners Tim and Cathy Palmer will be moving to Atlanta from Missouri in a month or so.\u00a0 The District Manager who is a good friend asked me to move into a different apartment because they can rent the two bedroom town home pretty easily.\u00a0 They&#8217;re giving us a THREE bedroom to replace it.\u00a0 It&#8217;ll be one level which I think will be better in the long run.\u00a0 Bill and I went through seven apartments on the property.\u00a0 They were all pretty bad.\u00a0 The best one had gang graffiti all over it and the flooring, sinks and cabinets were awful.\u00a0 I left to talk with the manager with a really heavy heart.\u00a0 I just couldn&#8217;t see the Palmers moving into it.<\/p>\n<p>I talked with Marion and said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know.\u00a0 It&#8217;s pretty bad.&#8221;\u00a0 She said, &#8220;Wait a second.\u00a0 Carlos just told me that they found another apartment vacant.\u00a0 The tenants must have skipped out yesterday!&#8221;\u00a0 After some calling around on the radio, Carlos met us over at the 2500B.\u00a0 It was perfect for our needs.\u00a0 In MUCH better condition than the other seven.\u00a0 It had had a family with small children living there.\u00a0 You could tell that a Mother had been taking care of the place.\u00a0 The other apartment had obviously had a bunch of single men living there.\u00a0 MAN!\u00a0 What a relief and perfect timing.\u00a0 I really dig working for the KING!<\/p>\n<p>I tried to go visit Jesse tonight.\u00a0 The cops said I couldn&#8217;t because even though I&#8217;m a pastor I&#8217;m still his dad and it wouldn&#8217;t be fair.\u00a0 That really sucked.\u00a0 I was pretty upset and got home, threw on my running clothes and did a 4 mile loop.\u00a0 Felt better after that.<\/p>\n<p>And if you&#8217;re wondering . . . . still no coyote in the trap.\u00a0 Maybe tonight!<\/p>\n<p>Love you guys!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did nearly 120 miles of driving today.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a lot of time in the car!
