{"id":358,"date":"2008-05-04T00:05:41","date_gmt":"2008-05-04T04:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=358"},"modified":"2008-05-04T00:05:41","modified_gmt":"2008-05-04T04:05:41","slug":"358","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=358","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had a terrific time preaching today at Cowboy Church in Jerusalem, Georgia!<\/p>\n<p>I worked with one of my favorite partners, Rebecca Hampton who is part of our Mission Service Corps team of the North American Mission Board.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289127818_Ai7jQ-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc1\" \/><br \/>\nShe is doing a terrific job with troubled youth in the area.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289128884_5HsGd-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc2\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the last few months over 24 people have come to the Lord because of her work.  Today I presented a revised story of the Prodigal Son from a cowboy perspective.  &#8220;There was a rich rancher in S. Texas who had two sons.  The younger son was tired of living on the ranch and wanted to go to Austin!&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289131877_NQRdu-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc4\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289131414_4nqCD-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc3\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I ended my sermon with , &#8220;Take the Church, to the Cowboys!&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289132129_fGFxM-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc5\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was a beautiful thing!<\/p>\n<p>I also made the comment that &#8220;I&#8217;d seen every kind of back row Baptist.  But I&#8217;ve never seen a HORSE on the back row before!&#8221;  It was pretty amazing to see this palamino lean over the fence to nuzzle on of the congregation on the back row!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289134577_WTRGL-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc8\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/289133179_yGTFa-M.jpg\" alt=\"cc7\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was a long trip&#8211;nearly 200 hundred miles to Jerusalem and back to Stone Mountain.  But it was certainly worth the time.  I shot a lot of video so I can help promote Rebecca&#8217;s work at the ranch.  Please pray that she will be able to reach many more of her neighbors for Christ!<\/p>\n<p>I got home about 9:30pm.
