{"id":657,"date":"2009-04-27T23:24:35","date_gmt":"2009-04-28T03:24:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=657"},"modified":"2009-04-27T23:36:43","modified_gmt":"2009-04-28T03:36:43","slug":"clarkston-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whirlwindmissions.org\/blog\/?p=657","title":{"rendered":"Clarkston!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I&#8217;ve been working on my newsletter.\u00a0 And resting.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t realize just how tired I was.\u00a0 Sure was glad I didn&#8217;t have any pressing appointments this morning!<\/p>\n<p>I was outside this morning when I got a call from Kathy.\u00a0 She was working with the refugee babies in Clarkston and needed me to come help get a window open in her room.\u00a0 I knew that that old church building had probably been painted at least ten times over the years.\u00a0 They normally don&#8217;t ever open the windows, they just paint over them.\u00a0 I got all my tools together and went to check on the situation.\u00a0 Sure enough a lot of paint!\u00a0 Unfortunately, to get to the outside frame to break the seal you had to open up the storm windows.\u00a0 And you couldn&#8217;t open the storm windows unless the painted shut windows could open!\u00a0 So no go.\u00a0 Bahd luck.<\/p>\n<p>Plan B!\u00a0 There&#8217;s a door into the room that leads to the outside.\u00a0 We were able to block that door open and they had a little security fence so that the babies couldn&#8217;t get out.\u00a0 Voila!\u00a0 The solution!\u00a0 Glad that worked out ok.<\/p>\n<p>I took the girls (Ashley was out of class by that time) over to Madina to eat some roast goat.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/522881186_mNFR3-M.jpg\" alt=\"k\" \/><br \/>\nActually the girls got Chicken Chop Chop.\u00a0 J and I feasted on the Oromo platter.\u00a0 It&#8217;s always fun to have the whole family together!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/522881534_GzMLW-M.jpg\" alt=\"j\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/522881651_Dtq7g-M.jpg\" alt=\"t\" \/><br \/>\nI dropped the girls back at their car and Jesse and I went over to Staples to pick up the supplies I needed for the newsletter and over to the Post Office to pick up, you guessed it! Stamps!<\/p>\n<p>They told me that the stamps were going up to .44c in May.\u00a0 They also explained to me that there&#8217;s a law now that the PO cannot increase the stamps except once a year.\u00a0 That&#8217;s why they started the Forever stamps.<\/p>\n<p>My plants are doing better outside.\u00a0 I thought I&#8217;d killed my beautiful beugonia.\u00a0 Starting to come back!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/522881924_RCYDY-M.jpg\" alt=\"b\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com\/photos\/522882236_WMCcF-M.jpg\" alt=\"bb\" \/><br \/>\nHad a nice rest this afternoon!\u00a0 I&#8217;ll put the finishing touches on my newsletter tomorrow morning, then take the envelopes to the mission tomorrow to get some help from the kids!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I&#8217;ve been working on my newsletter.\u00a0 And resting.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t realize just how tired I was.\u00a0 Sure was glad I didn&#8217;t have any pressing appointments this morning!
