Family!
I enjoyed lunch with our extended family today! Always fun!
Came home to rest. I’ve been tired after the long weeks.
Admin duties now.
I enjoyed lunch with our extended family today! Always fun!
Came home to rest. I’ve been tired after the long weeks.
Admin duties now.
Got up this morning and went back to editing the video of the teams I shot last week.
I have two done so far.
Also packing them up and getting them ready to mail.
And posting them on YouTube.
Jesse came over to join Kathy and me on safari to Loganville. Ashley has been riding horses with her new friend Anna.
We enjoyed visiting and watching Ashley ride “Jimmy.”
Came home to rest and continue editing.
Admin duties now.
Wednesday evening I trimmed the bushes in my yard.
Dropped off the financial report to our treasurer.
This morning, I greeted the team with big bubbles.
Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team on Catholicism then took them Plaza Fiesta!
Always fun!
We had our commitment service where we pass the baton and say, “It’s up to ME!”
And sign the Landing Pad. The LP is one year old today!
Plaza Fiesta!
Really bad hair day.
We checked on every team and said our Good byes!
Came home to paint a chair.
Pick up sticks in the yard.
Admin duties now.
Starting to edit the three videos.
This morning I was a solo act. I gave the briefing to the new team from Louisiana on what it’s like to be and immigrant and how to round up the kids at the apartment complexes. Ashley briefed the other two teams from Texas and S. Georgia.
Took them on safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
Ashley got the teams on site while I ran over to Marietta to take Shannon Tate to see the ministry opportunities in Marietta. If all goes well, they’ll be our regional directors for Cobb county.
We enjoyed having a meeting with the manager while we were there.
Also took a look around the old town square in Marietta. It’s one of my favorites.
Bought these monkeys at an antique store there.
Came home to work on admin duties.
This morning I made a critical error. I handed my 300 year old giant bird egg to a kid to hold on to. He dropped it on the ground when he put it down. Knocked out a couple of pieces.
I got the super glue out with the high speed bonding accelerator.
Filled in some tiny cracks with the glue as well.
Seems to be pretty solid. Used some white and yellow face paint to hide the fractures a bit. The other side still looks pretty good.
Put some food out for the birds and raccoons. I saw the three baby raccoons this evening. Not sure if that means they’re moving into a new area or not. I haven’t seen the mom in a while.
K and I enjoyed watching Perception.
Had a great time giving our teams from S. Georgia and Texas the briefing this morning!
Normally, we’d take them on safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market but when we came out to the parking lot, three of the trucks had been broken into.
The thieves stole about 8 phones a bunch of cash and equipment. I hate that.
They also stole Pastor Scott’s medicine. I’m glad we were able to get him some replacements.
We did get the teams on to the missions after lunch. Way to go Ashley, for keeping the other team moving.
They’re doing a great job!
Came home to work on admin duties. In particular a request for personnel from NAMB and a note to my board.
Also memorized the names of all the team members. Takes me about twenty minutes to memorize forty people. I’m working on ways to speed that up. I’m thinking I need to shoot them in groups of three and work on them in clumps of data. I’m always trying something different! Mainly it’s just repetition.
Ashley and I met our team at Azalea apartments this morning to do our briefing. It was interesting to do it there.
They received the Whirlwind Missions “Golden Egg of Eggcellence!”
We had our commencement service of passing the baton and saying, “It’s up to ME.”
Then signing the landing pad.
Off to Asian Square!
Cobra in a jar.
And Plaza Fiesta!
Miles and Jesse joined us for lunch!
I like this bobcat.
Came home after I got the teams on site. Needed to rest.
Enjoyed watching the last of the match of Germany and Argentina.
Admin duties now. Have to catch up from last night.
Edited the video from the team in town this weekend.
Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our teams on Islam and Buddhism this morning!
Then took them to Asian Square and Global Mall.
We enjoyed eating at Global Mall too.
Then on to the missions!
Came home after getting the teams on site. I was tired and rested before getting ready for my birthday party at Cafe Istanbul. Perhaps my best birthday party EVER! I think in turns of octaves rather than groups of tens. A music thing I reckon. So today I completed 7 complete octaves. I’m 56.
The clouds were gorgeous on the way there.
Ashley did some dancing with the belly dancer!
It was a special treat to finally get to meet Anna, who is Ashley’s horse riding teacher and great friend. It was fun to get to know Jeff too!
It was the best lamb kabob I’ve ever had.
I love the art there.
We left the restaurant to the sight of a beautiful full moon. Awesome.
After the Turkish experience, we went to Ashley and Miles’ house to shoot off some fireworks. It was fun! Great to hear Miles play guitar.
When we got home, I rejoiced to hear my barred owl couple calling to each other from my yard. Love that.
Got to sleep late.
Made up for it by getting up early!
Didn’t blog or post pictures. Too tired.
I finished editing/uploading/burning a DVD for our team from Clinch River BC, Tennessee. John came by the church to pick it up. GREAT!
Ashley and I had fun with our team from Alabama! We gave them our initial briefing today.
Then over to the Buford Highway Farmers Market. Always fun!
After eating there, we went to the missions! Yeah, baby!
We got them onto their second sites and enjoyed visiting with the team.
Then home to work on admin duties!
Guess what? It’s my birthday tomorrow!
Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team on Catholicism today!
We presented them with the Golden Egg of Eggcellence!
We also had our commencement service where we pass the baton and say, “It’s up to ME.”
Then they sign the Landing Pad.
Off to go on safari to Plaza Fiesta! One of our traditions is taking your picture with the “Sublime Blue Mariachi Hat.”
We said “Goodbye” to the group this afternoon. They’ve been fun!
Went to Lowes to pick up a couple of cans of flat white Rustoleum paint. Sprayed the chairs I had left and shot the table one more time. I love my spray can handle. It’s great. It’s my favorite new Cool Tool.
I think the deck, furniture and plants look groovy!
Painted another golden egg for one of our teams.
Dropped my car off at T&G. They replaced an ignition coil in it.
Runs great now. Last two weeks it’s been running really rough. Just haven’t had a time to take it in. Way too busy. Cost about $250.
Enjoyed supper with Kathy and Jesse.
Home now for admin duties.
I’ll start editing video tonight.
We have another team starting tomorrow. Yeah, baby!
The clouds were beautiful this evening.
Got the package together for my Silverdale BC team before I came into Chamblee.
Enjoyed briefing the team on Islam and Hinduism.
Then to Global Mall and Al Madina!
AT the Hindu temple with Tek.
I thought this was interesting.
Say what?
We enjoyed eating at the Hibachi Grill.
I got the team on site, then came home to finish painting the deck furniture. I got the table and two 1/2 chairs done before I ran out of spray paint.
I think the deck looks great.
Cleaned the glass. The stain got on it. What a hassle.
Looks better now.
I like the new plants I got: an impatience and a bromeliad I believe it is fasciata.
I made a water bowl for the terrestrial animals to drink out of, in particular the raccoon family that lives nearby.
This evening I saw my raccoon. I went over towards it, it’s pretty tame. When it ran off, I thought it was unusual. That’s because it was a baby! The Mom came out later, greeted me and picked up the dog food I got for her. Cool to finally figure out it’s a she.
Can you spot the ‘Coon?
