Weekend!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:51 pm

It’s been a restful weekend!

Filled up and cleaned my hummingbird feeders. I think they’ve already headed to Texas, but just in case!

Friday I went for a 5.14 mile run. Always beautiful!

Even when it dies, it’s beautiful.

I’m pretty sure this is proof that there were native Americans living in this area.
s

I liked this.
s

Saturday we celebrated Jesse’s birthday at Piccadilly with some of our family.

Sunday morning Kathy and I went to Westside BC. Brother John preached on evangelism.

Looking forward to spending more time with K. We’re planning on watching Noah!

Beautiful cirrus clouds.

Podcast! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:29 pm

Had fun recording a new podcast this morning!
s

One of the darker episodes of Verbal Surgery today.
s

At any time it could “All be gone!” Seeing the world through the lenses of what could be and helping us cherish the NOW. It’s worth thirty minutes of your time. Just click on the title and GROOVE.

Mailed a small packet to our friends in England. Ashley is so creative! She put some really cool stuff together for them.
s

Went to T&G to pay off the Altima. Little over $1,600. Yow. I’m sure Jesse is going to love the changes.

Enjoyed working at the mission with the kids.
s

Went to the church with Jhoan to get my portable tents. Apparently, someone either broke them, stole them or threw them away. Oh, well. I never thought they were very practical. Better just to sit under the trees.

Admin duties now.

Run! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:32 pm

Surprisingly cool this morning, in the 50s.

Went for a 5.09 mile run. Always something beautiful to see.

s
s

Ate lunch with Jesse and Kathy.

Got word that the Altima that J drives is going to take about $1,600 to fix. Ouch.

Rested after lunch then went to the mission to work with the kids.
s
s

We have a mom that brings her two little girls on Wednesdays. Our girls love ’em.
d

Took Jesse for some grocery shopping on my way home.

K and I watched Key and Peele and Anthony Bourdain this evening.

Rain! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:32 pm

Rained 2.75″ last night and today. Wow.
s
Dreary all day long.
s

Worked on admin duties. My computer got some malware on it. Had to run some programs to get rid of it. Sure am glad it worked.

Cleaned the fish tank while I waited for the malware software.
s

Ate lunch with Ashley and Kathy.
s
They went to the Women on Mission group at Smokerise Baptist Church.

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s
Very light day. Seems like whenever it’s rainy the kids stay inside. Even if it’s not raining when we’re there.

Jesse was teaching about piezo electronics.
s

When you hit the little ceramic center, it creates electricity which lights up the little led bulb.
s

Took Jesse’s car in to get worked on. He had some mirror damage.

Admin duties now.

Jet Lag! Run!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:52 am

Jet lag is always worse coming home. I’ve been going to sleep around 8:30pm or 10pm and getting up around 5am. Makes for weird days.

Powerful clouds in the area. Monday night big storm.
s
Interesting Cirro Stratus clouds.
s
s
I love the colors.
s
s

I took my Venus Fly Traps outside. They need to start going dormant now.
s

Went for a 5.05 mile run on Sunday. Always beautiful.

Nice rest on Columbus Day. Did the shopping at Walmart. Not even Halloween yet and already with the white trees.
s

When I picked up my car from Azalea after my UK trip, it wouldn’t start at all. Completely dead. Jumped it off and took it home just fine. The next morning, again completely dead.

Took it over to T and G to work on. They completely took the dash apart looking for the problem. John spent all morning working on it.

He noticed that there was an extra draw on the battery every time he closed the door, which is the exact opposite of what should happen when all the indoor lights come on.
s
s
He finally figured out that I had a coke can pushing against the car seat motor button. It pushed it whenever the door was closed. Bizarre.

Still trying to get my days and nights straight after the trip. Getting better!

I wonder where this was from?
s

I like this. Don’t you?

UK! Wedding!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:36 am

Ashley and I just returned from the UK!
s

I was part of a friend of mine’s wedding! We got up at sunrise.
s
My friend Amit’s dad is from Kericho, near where I’m from in Kenya. I thought that was amazing.
s
s
I liked the releasing of the doves.
s
My friend Anthony was the best man. We were up all night writing his speech. Turned out great.
s
s
Beautiful location out in the country.
s

Great to see my buddies again.
s
The girls had a good time at the wedding. They were the hit of the party.
s

It was fun staying with the Jacquin family! They’ve become close friends.
s

Ashley got to live her dream and ride horses every day.
s
My friend Anthony’s wife Kat loves horses as much as Ash!
s
s
s

I’m always stunned by the beauty of England and how much it reminds me of the Rift Valley of Kenya.
s
s
s

s

Full moon while I was there. Woot!
s
s
s
Ever seen Romanesque Broccoli?
s
Tasted great!

Fabulous rainbows while we were there. It would rain heavily, then clear off.
s

I was invited to be on a radio show on the BBC!
s
s
s

I talked about how I saw Derby’s culture from an American point of view. Did you know that the world’s first factory was in Derby, England?
s
I’m standing on the spot where Ben Franklin examined the silk mill.
s

We worked on Anthony’s upcoming trip to India.
s

We stayed at Sutton on the Hill. It was chill.
s
s
s

Went to an underground venue with spoken word performances. It was held in the building where the first time piece was made that wasn’t affected by the rise of fall of a ship on the ocean. This discovery revolutionized ocean travel because then they could ascertain the latitude of the craft.
s

They had a fire breather, too.
s

It was cool. My buddy Anthony did some mindreading for the crowd.
s

We toured the city. Beautiful cathedral.
s
s
s
They had a folk festival that weekend.
z
s
s

We visited an abbey nearly 1,000 years old.
s

The Jacquin’s took us to the Chatsworth estate.
s
s
It reminded me of Downton Abbey. I enjoyed discovering the gardens.
s
s
s
s
s
s

s
s
s
s

This was the first time I did not go to London. I sure made the right choice staying in Derby. Staying with a family is just more fun.
s

We got back home sound and safe.
s

I met some guys in the airport in Amsterdam who recognized me from FaceBook. He wants to work with us in the International Village.
s

And on the Marta back to Chamblee I also saw a supporter of ours from Roswell United Methodist Church. The chance of that happening is amazing to me. It’s a Jesus Thing.

Already settled back in. Fortunately, Ash and I can keep up with our email even in the UK. So we never really get behind. Had a good talk from a church in Texas we’ve worked with. Summer is already looking up.

Ashley is a wonderful travel partner! Never too much Ashley!
