Grandgirls! Muffins! Azalea! 1.21.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:32 pm

Night visitor. I see this raccoon pretty much every night. I have several more that come by as well as opossums.

I read a few articles about the inauguration and came across a couple of words I wasn’t sure about.

Studied Spanish.

One Year Bible reading.

Cold and wet.

Always great to pick up the girls.

They are so much fun.

Brush teeth time.

“Flat and in the back.” What and where I tell them to focus on.

They were having a lot of fun with their new kitchen.

We made banana muffins today. Lots of math involved.

Results.

They both fell asleep on the way home.

I rolled the windows down some and left them in their car seats. I put the after school area right by the car so I could watch and listen for them.

Helped the kids with their homework. I make charts to help them learn the material.

I collected all the smaller jackets that the grandgirls had outgrown and gave them to a couple of families at the mission.

It was cold helping the kids today.

Went by my office to check the mail.

Grandgirls! Lake Park! Azalea! 1.20.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:04 pm

I liked this from Seth Godin’s blog this morning.

Another cool day.

From my One Year Bible this morning.

Studied Spanish.

Always great to be with my girls.

Gassed up my car, checked oil and cleaned windshield.

The girls had a blast playing with this big kitchen set. Cost me $2.99.

Big limb in my back yard.

We went to a new little park. I think I’ll call it the Lake Park. Not much there. I don’t see us going there much.

I watched the inauguration on YouTube on my phone while we were at the park. I heard most of Biden’s speech which I thought was pretty good.

Came home to eat pizza and rest. We watched a show, but the girls never fell asleep.

We got banana splits on the way to Chamblee.

Helped the kids with their homework.

The girls looked so cute this evening after their baths.

Beautiful sunset.

Went by my office to pick up checks and process them. Then to the bank to deposit them.

Grandgirls! Goodwill! Doggie Park! Mission! 1.19.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:57 pm

Fresh week!

Great to see my girls!

Cold this morning. It was the first time the girls had ever seen their breath. Didn’t show up on the picture, but still cute.

Penelope brought her bike, but not helmet. I decided to go to Goodwill (we call it God’s will) to get her one. While I was there, I bought another six jackets for them to wear. They’re growing so fast!

Of course we always have to get toys!

Everly loved this little bus.

Cute.

I couldn’t get over my azaleas flowering.

I took Penelope to ride her bike at the park. I enjoy getting them outside doing physical things. Amen.

I liked this shirt.

Always fun at the park!

Everly just turned three a few months ago. Today, she climbed to the top of the rope structure. It’s built for 8-12 year olds.

This was the highest that Penelope had ever gone. When she sees her little sister at the very top she goes, “Are you KIDDING ME?!”

Everly is utterly intrepid. She reminds me of me.

The family near the park has some fancy poultry.

Studied Spanish.

Helped the kids at the mission. It really felt cold. Their hands got really cold.

They had a LOT of homework, some of it quite challenging. Think you could pick out the relative adverbs and dependent clauses in a sentence? I didn’t think so. I’m a grammar/language nerd and it’s hard for me. I’m under pressure too, because the computer grades it right there so I know how many I got wrong. Fourth grade homework, and I have a Master’s Degree in Communication! Ay, caramba!

I always enjoy watching Miles with his girls.

Checked the mail at my office.

Ride home was pretty fast.

Released Verbal Surgery -822- “Jive Mind.”

It’s a fun one!

Podcast! Car! 1.18.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:14 pm

Read an article this morning and wasn’t sure of the meaning.

Studied Spanish. I’m going back to studying every lesson. There is a lot of vocabulary I need to work with more extensively. I usually can test out of the five lessons, but it’s not really benefiting me to do that.

Brain training. Did well today. Very focused.

Spot the Station!

I went by the library to drop off books. We’ll get new ones soon.

I went to my sister-in-law’s house to drive Jesse’s car. Fired straight up and ran great.

Also helped put some lightbulbs in around Ann’s house.

Also working on getting her garage door openers fixed.

While I was driving Jesse’s car, I stopped at Advance Auto Parts to pick up some Penzoil 5/30 and a convex mirror.

Kathy knocked Jesse’s mirror off one time when she was backing up. I put it back together with tape, but over time it doesn’t work very well. With that mirror, I can now see the blindspot.

A friend of mine needed to do some recording in her car and around the house. I helped her get a bendable tripod and a holder for her phone. I have absolutely loved this tripod.

Ann gave me a few of the old iPhones she had laying around. J and I are going to try and get them going. I’m specifically thinking about Everly. Get a really heavy duty OtterBox case to protect it. She can play some learning games on it.

Cleaned and refilled birdbaths and feeders.

Spent time with Jesse on the old iPhones. Also looked at some unemployment money paper work. This covid stuff has really hit businesses hard.

Calls! ISS! 1.17.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:12 pm

A friend has a new balloon.

Spanish.

Brain.

I recorded “Explosion and Erosion” yesterday. Copied it onto my Mac this morning.

I have about a month’s worth of material “in the can” ready to go.

Spent a lot of time on the phone today. Enjoyed talking with my Mom. It’s her 85 birthday today! January 17th was also Ben Franklin’s birthday, so TWO of my heroes born on the same day. Amen.

Good talk with my buddy Anthony.

Looking into this. I have a lot of stuff still in my library I haven’t listened to yet.

I saw the ISS for the 66th time this evening.

Podcast! Anthony! Tire! 1.16.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:06 pm

Studied Spanish.

As I’ve mentioned before, Duolingo continues to put out new lessons. Even though I’m working through Level 5, I still have to do the Level 1 lessons when they first appear on the course.

It’s easy for me, even though it would be pretty hard for most people.

I released an episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Seek Light.”/a>

Luminous!

Cloudy and cold.

Had a fun talk with my buddy, Anthony.

Picked up some Vietnamese sandwiches from Pho 24.

While I was there I saw a truck with these decals. Liked it.

I have a gauge in my car that reports when there is a tire with low pressure. I figured out which one it was. Super slow leak, but it was down to about 20 lbs. I’m pretty sure it was the problem the first time I got it checked and we couldn’t find anything wrong. We were probably checking the wrong tire! He topped off all the tires before I left, so it might have taken this long to finally become apparent.

I have a small air compressor for exactly this type of problem. A terrific investment for less that $20. That and a hide a key are two necessities imho.

I took it to my tire guy in Chamblee.

The culprit.

Went by my office to check the mail.

Went to the bank to deposit the check, but the whole system was powered down. Went to another ATM but there was a huge line so I blew it off. A $50 check is not going to make or break us for a day.

Beautiful evening.

Grandgirls! Stone Mountain! 1.16.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:31 pm

Cold day that turned nice!

Always great to be with my girls!

We had fun playing restaurant and research facility. Everly created a vaccine for the infrovirus. Whatever that is.

Penelope helped me set up the squirrel trap. We use bird seed for bait.

Up the Sky Rail for our morning safari.

Beautiful clouds.

I couldn’t get over how circular this hole was on the mountain top.

Studied Spanish.

They’ve added a lot of new categories, so you start back at level zero. I’ve gone back to testing out of the level until it gets harder.

Sunset!

I took the grandgirls over to Miles’ parent’s house to spend the night. Miles and Ashley are working on Saturday.
We enjoyed watching Frozen 2 together before they left.

Picked up the groceries before I came home.

I liked this quote.

A friend sent me these from Hawaii.

Grandgirls! Spanish! 1.14.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:48 pm

I like this quote.

Mandatory masks on airplanes.

Stimulus package.

Interesting.

Cold.

Love my girls!

Ordered groceries.

Vacuumed the house.

Studied Spanish.

Duolingo is rapidly adding to their Spanish course. Recently, they added another three sets of 25 lessons. Each lesson has five levels. Hundreds more! But they always start back at Level 1. So I’m working through some of them more rapidly. It really is a lot of fun to struggle just enough to make progress.

Went to Azalea to take the girls home. None of the mission kids have homework right now. School is out for MLK day.

Next stop to my office to check for mail. Watered and sprayed my ficus. We’ve been together a long time. I almost killed her once by leaving her outside during a cold snap. I’ll never take her outside again.

On the way home there was a 18 wheeler accident.

Beautiful lighting.

Grandgirls! Nail Salon! Mission! 1.13.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:47 pm

Here’s a list of the consequences of Trump’s actions with the Capital riot.

Never heard of “freezing fog.”

Always great to see all my girls!

Got my W2 today. Step one.

We worked on writing Penelope’s name with upper and lower case letters. Plus her address.

We also pick one random page from our big book of exercises. She picked “Which one is shorter?”

I opened up Pop Pop’s Nail Salon today.

Studied Spanish.

Helped the kids at the mission. I go through the messages from the teachers to the parents so the kids can explain it to their moms and dads.

After we finished the homework, I took the girls to their friend’s house to play.

Went to my office to check the mail, process what came in and then deposit it at the bank.

Another old soldier goes to be with the Lord. She was helpful when we got married. Betty also supported our ministry financially.

Transported another squirrel. That’s six this week. Took this one to Azalea.

Gassed up the car. Checked and added oil.

Grandgirls! Mission! Bank! 1.12.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:21 pm

Another cold day. It’s winter. What do you expect?

Great to see Ashley!

Penelope works a little every day.

Everly has such a fertile imagination. She’s definitely the more maternal of the two.

I liked this picture Penelope drew for me. Has a lot of energy.

We were playing with tape. My buddy, Anthony tapes his mouth shut at night to force nose breathing.

They like playing where they are a restaurant. Penelope and
I had a grand time using the blue tube as the intercom when I ordered. It was wonderful to see her deal with all the twists and turns I put in my order. Super funny.

Bird in a squirrel trap. He’s not heavy enough to spring the trap.

I thought this book was cute.

Studied Spanish.

Girls getting exercise. It was really muddy out there.

Penelope knocked Everly over by accident. She took a face plant right into the mud. Bahd luck. I took them both and got them straight into a warm bath. I scrubbed on their shoes and her sweater and put them in front of a fan.

It was cold for tutoring. May have been the record for holding it outside.

Checked the mail at my office.

Prepared all the checks for deposit and went to the bank.
