Worked on getting estimates for the column repair that K hit.
OYB!
Milder today.
Español!
Walked 2.52 miles.
While I was walking, I noticed a hole in the wall in my attic. Stupid squirrels! Went to Lowes to pick up some screws and glue.
Drilled holes so I could screw through the laminate. Hard to install due to low ceiling and having to be extra careful to only stand on the rafters.
Stuff always falls down when I open the attic. Vacuumed the house after I did the repair. Then cleaned the canister equipment.
Ordered a camera for Penelope. Sent back a clock to Amazon–it was supposed to come with numbers.
Swept the kitchen area.
Put my carnivorous plants back outside.
Nana and I picked up Penelope and Everly, then we went to E’s gymnastic class. it was her final day of the semester.
Saw this juvenile red tailed hawk at Azalea.
Helped the kids with their homework. I’ve been teaching some of the girls regrouping for subtraction.
Always great to spend time with Ash and Miles. They’re moving into their rental house this weekend. SIX years at Azalea. It’s rare for a couple to spend that long living in a mission. Average is about two years or less.
l love winter sunsets.

Kathy let me know that she hit one of the columns at Young World where she works. I talked to our car insurance guy about it. We are covered.
I took Nana to get Indian food today. Excellent! After lunch, we went to the sweet shop and met the owner who used to live in Nairobi for 40 years! Wow!
Helped the kids at the mission.
Aired up one of the kid’s bikes.
While I was working with the kids, Miles took the family over to see the new house that they’re renting. Not a great time to buy a house!
Beautiful sunset.
Seems like I’m always sewing up one of the map jackets. They are really thin.

Nana is flying into the ATL tomorrow! Looks like all kinds of weather.
I keep moving. Miss biking, but I really don’t like riding when it’s cold. Like under 70!
Fun chat with my buddy, Anthony.
Checked the transmission fluid in my car. It was a little low. Transmission fluid (Merkon V) looks cool. I was amazed that I had a funnel that would actually work for this job. The place where you pour the transmission fluid was about ten inches under wiring. I had to have a nozzle with a very long snout. I have no idea when I bought that.
Also checked and added oil to Kathy’s truck.
I then refill my quart bottle from the large one.
I set up Nana’s bed. Washed everything and got it all back in. Our house is kind of like living in a college dorm. None of our stuff matches.
Confirmed the ticket for my Mom. Looks like all the times are the same.
My new Christmas lights came in! Amazon sent me the wrong color. I wanted bright white lights, they sent me blue.
I repaired a light that I have in Nana’s room.
Recorded and released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “Brute Force.” Really good and very helpful.

There was a guy moving dirt on the empty lot near the front of our subdivision. I told him in strong terms that there is a Stop Work order and he should not be doing any dirt work there. Ended up having to call the Code Enforcement department on them.
Worked on my front yard today. I got pretty much all the leaves out of the yard into my recycling areas. Today I spent some time taping the power cord into the blower. I’ll leave that cord dedicated to the blower. Usually, I have to reinsert that cord at least once every five minutes. Zero today after the tape.
There were a lot of leaves still to be picked up.
I also collected some mycelium for Jessi’s mushroom project.
I did all the front yard. By the time I finished, I was working by street lamp light.
That was a hard job.
It’s supposed to start raining again tomorrow. I stayed out later just so I could get finished. Once the leaves are wet, I’d have to wait for day for everything to get dry. Wet leaves are super heavy.
I’ll take a series of “after” shots tomorrow. Too dark this evening to shoot it properly.
I checked with my car guys about the type of auto transmission fluid to put in my car. I’ll probably be adding a little bit soon. I’m supposed to use Merkon, which is what I ordered at Walmart.
The flag on my mailbox is broken. I’m doing my normal repair utilizing tape. This one I put strapping tape first, then covered it with electrical tape. I thought it looks pretty good now. The strapping tape was a good surface to adhere the electrical tape. The tape by itself looked crappy. Although it did work.
Spent the morning studying Spanish and blowing the roof.
Blew off the deck after finishing the roof and gutters.
Blew the front porch area and the driveway.
Did my laundry.
Listened to Don Cheto. It’s really a challenge to listen to because much of the time there are several people talking.
Cleaned off the area outside my door.
I moved the base of the birdbath I used to have to my back yard. That thing was supper heavy. I had to get my dolly out.
Washed my car.
I met up with Ashley, Miles and Penelope at Balance Gymnastics. We were there to watch Everly.
Winter is a great time for watching birds at the feeders. I had a pair of pileated woodpeckers in my yard today. They’re the size of crows.
Dried it off with a towel to get the last of the dirt.
Got the girls some Robux for their games. I’d planned on getting them some for their birthdays, but they hadn’t need any until recently.
Swept the kitchen floor.
Helped the kids with their homework.
Went to Huntley Hills Elementary to see the kids do their presentation. Penelope was gorgeous.
I loved the colors at sunset.
The place was packed.
Family!
Push.

Helped the kids with their homework. I brought out blankets and jackets for kids to use.
One of the kids corrected my Spanish (which I actually really appreciate) today. I asked someone if they wanted a “Blanketa” which I thought was blanket. She asked me, “What did you just say, Mr. Tim?” When I told her what I’d said she told me the word was “Cobija.” To help me remember it I’ll think about Kobe Bryant wrapped up in a blanket.
Kathy came with me to the mission this afternoon. We had a nice supper together with the girls. I went with Everly to see her new trick on the tree.
