Big storm rolled through last night. By the time it got this far it wasn’t too bad.
I like these videos on Spanish.
Ordered more Paid stickers for the teams coming. It’s a good bit.
OYB!
Ordered groceries.
Español!
Great weather!
Wrote and produced my newsletter.
Looking forward to the teams being here.
I took the newsletters to the church to get printed.
One of the projects I’m working on is to find a sleep doctor that is in J’s health network. This is one who J’s doctor referred.
Worked on setting up for The Show for next week. Penelope and Everly placed a name tag, a marker, a photo card and a piece of Chinese paper on each of the 120 chairs. Kathy helped me stuff and collate envelopes.
Swept and mopped the kitchen and laundry areas.
Keep going.
Reaching out to a couple of our supporters.
Tried to set up an online account for J, but realized she has to be there. They’ll send codes to a phone or email.
Still not sure when the second team that has five people will get here.

I’ve enjoyed watching these short videos. Some of them are really helpful.
This is no problem for me.
I’m not sure if I wrote the address down wrong, or if the PO did it wrong. I tried to email the contact person with no success. Now I may have to call them. I will probably try the website next. That way, if they give me an address I have it in writing. It’s one of the best things about email and texting.
OYB!
Got a request to fill out a W9 for the church that is coming next week.
Español!
This was good news.
Getting hot, kids.
I hung up my two new hummingbird feeders. The new ones don’t seem to have the same one cup capacity as the old version. Overall, I like the new style better. They have a wider mouth to pour the sugar water into. Mixed up the solution, put it in the bottles and hung them up. I’m soaking the old bottles in bleach now. Start fresh!
I set the trash can out this morning. Sometimes when I get home, I have so much on my mind that I forget to put them out. They pick them up pretty early, has to be done the day before.
The gardenias in my yard are blooming like crazy.
Making plans for next week. Lots of moving parts. K’s truck doesn’t have seat belts in the back so she can’t pick up the grandgirls. But the thought of me driving around in her red hot truck during the hottest part of the day. . . . no, thanks.
Talked with my Mom a couple of times today. Really bad cell signal recently.
I went by the eight locations I have set up for the team for next week. Talked to the managers and gave them a flyer to post. Flyers have limited effectiveness. Still have to go knock on the doors. The kids aren’t time conscious.
Went by my office to recon the tables and chairs available in the Fellowship Hall. I had a target of 120 chairs and tables. The grandgirls were such good helpers.
I marked the front, right legs of the tables. That way they can be set up more easily.
Then we took all of the tables down and set up the rows of chairs. I wanted to see how it looked. How full the room was. I’ll fine tune the set up over the next few days.
Stopped by Lowe’s on the way home to pick up some wire. I string it between trees and hang things like bird feeders from it.
Decided to get a hygrometer for home. I’ve kept the one I have at my office to check the wetness of the soil in my ficus. It has made a major difference in the happiness the plant. It didn’t like being overwatered. I have the same concern for my plumeria. I want to KNOW what the level of moisture is in that pot. Not guess.
I’m so clueless sometimes. I didn’t know that the kids had off from school for Memorial Day on Monday. I also didn’t know that the last day of the school year will be on Thursday NOT Friday. Huh.
Watered my indoor plants.
Don’t stop. Won’t stop.

Came in #1 in the Duolingo Leagues. I’ve come in the top three about 135 times.
Getting warmer!
K and I went to Hibachi Grill for lunch and to talk with Andy, the manager. He put the team of 120 people on the calendar and affirmed the price. I talked the team leader in Alabama about adding a little to help with the tariffs.
Went to my office to check the mail.
K and I picked up the girls at the bus. They swapped their rooms! Didn’t see that coming.
The pink magnolia at the mission seems to be doing pretty well. I sprayed it with Neem oil to kill the white powder mildew it had on some leaves. It’s just a little bit so I hope I can keep it from hurting the little tree to much.
Ordered screens for the sinks. I think it was food getting caught in the U trap under the sink that smelled bad.
K will take J to jury duty. That sucks.
I gassed up my car and checked the oil on the way home.
Made J some PBJ sandwiches.
Sprayed my rose bushes at home with the Neem oil. It also gets rid of black spot.
I set up my table to work on Everly’s bottom drawer of her dresser. On close inspection, it was beyond repair.
Looks like the package I sent to Paychex had a detour. That address could’ve gone wrong with the lady who told it to me, how I heard it or what the lady at the PO typed in.

I watched some short videos on Español and vocabulary.
The kitchen sink was stinking. I flooded out the food trap with a lot of water and added some Clorox.
I added plastic bags to cover the plumeria’s soil. The pot is pretty big for that plant. I have to be careful about overwatering, and it has been raining a lot. It does need the full sun as much as possible. I hope the bags will be a good compromise.
I carved the SE section of the yard today.
I picked up sticks and piled them up. Used my cart to haul them to the recycle area.
Spruced up my St. Francis shrine.
Cleaned my trimmer.
Cut the bushes in front of my house.
Blew the driveway.
SE section looks good. The grass the girls and I planted is making a difference. Yard work is a long-term assignment.
Cleaned my shoes.
Hard work.

Don Cheto. I’m working on trying to understand jokes. Facebook Reels can give me an unlimited supply. Don Cheto tells jokes all the time. Everyone starts laughing uproariously and I’m like, “Que?”
Recorded and released “What Do You Want?” A fundamental question that can lead to happiness.
I wrote a letter to Paychex (the payroll company for Whirlwind Missions.) Included a letter from Lamar Barden on how to correctly set up the account for a person in ministry. It has all the details of the Housing Allowance section for my tax filing. I spent $31 at the Post Office for overnight delivery to the location. They never meet that goal and I always get my money back. It’s the only type of mail that the US Post Office guarantees to get there. It’s going to the Paychex corporate office which is in Phoenix, AZ.
Getting warmer daily. To be expected.
Dropped off the USB adaptor for my Mac Air at UPS to send it back to Amazon. I got the HDMI adaptor instead.
I worked on the NE section of my yard today. I made up a new word for what I do on my lawn: I “carve” the grass. Because that is what a weed whacker does. I let my yard get pretty overgrown. Wanted to make sure all the wild flowers were done.
Picked up sticks.
Blew the driveway and deck.
This was good news.
My new HDMI to USB-C for my Mac Air came in today. I’m using it right now and it’s working perfectly. Simplicity is the best option. Those multi-input adaptors are always a problem. I also fabricated a place for the HDMI Cable under my bedside table.
I blew the front porch.
Cleaned out the flower bed by the front porch.
I need to treat my roses for black spot. I think Neem oil should work on it. I need to get it from the Mission.
I think the monkey grass has been a good substitute for lawn seed. Over the years, it should completely fill up the yard.
The first gardenia has bloomed! There are hundreds more to come.
Should come in first place this week.

I have studied Español for 2,000 days straight without missing!
Interesting.
OYB!
Did my laundry.
Starting to get a lot warmer.
Good talk with Nana. She’s always a blessing.
K came with me today to pick up Everly and to see Penelope’s show based on Dr. Seuss.
While K and I were walking around Huntley Hills Elementary, I noticed this sign on Everly’s class wall.
Keep going.
I bought an adaptor for my Mac Air to an HDMI output. It didn’t work. So instead I’m going with the simple solution which is a straight adaptor only for HDMI to USB-C for Mac. That should work better. Those multiple adaptors have been problematic.
I’ll return the adaptor that didn’t work tomorrow.

Good lunch with my buddy Jon Paul today. He’s helping me with the payroll situation vis a vis the housing allowance. His Dad was stationed in Naples during WWII. It’s about midway on the “boot” of Italy.
I picked up Everly at the bus and we went to the Buford Hwy Farmers Market to eat. I also made some arrangements with the owner and manager of the restaurants about a menu and the price, including tax.
Then I contacted Spencer, the team leader of FBC Trussville. He was back with me in a flash. Texted back to Pamela who is in charge of the kitchen. Made all the decisions and confirmations in about five minutes. Technology really has its place.
Miles was home by the time we got finished that the BHFM. I left Everly and picked up Penelope. We went to Cici’s to eat. I enjoyed the one on one time with her. She’s a blessing.
Went to Azalea to help the kids. Hardly any homework. We did a lot of it yesterday.
Went to Tucker Nursing and Rehab Center to pick up the last of Ann’s stuff. I left a letter for Dr. Wu who works there. Hopefully, she’ll get that letter and will write an excused absence letter for Ann for jury duty. It was a hard task figuring out who exactly Dr Wu was. I gave Ann and K the information.
K will take Ann’s clothes to her soon.
Keep going.
