FROZE! Goodies! Blain! Azalea! Board!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:19 pm

Had a fun day today!
c
SUPER cold. Yow!
b

I had lunch with a friend of mine who’s a manager of a Dick’s Sporting Goods. Blaine is a great guy and real motivator.
b

We have similar ideas about management.

He got a gift for his son!
b

I took him around a short tour of the International Village.

Then over to PlayNTrade to get some more controllers for the N64 at the mission. I like the racing games with four kids playing at a time. They have a lot of fun with it.

Kids had a lot of homework. Sure was glad we had help! Kathy and Ashley were there doing an awesome job.
r

a

Also had a new volunteer Juanita Omalme come to the mission today.
j
She’s going to do an internship with me starting in January.

I had a meeting with the Board of Whirlwind Missions, Inc. tonight! Three of my favorite people: Dr. Carl Barrington, Dr. Jon Paul and Rev. Tito Ruiz!! Super great friends of mine.
c

Real men of God that I’m SO proud to know and be associated with.

Came home in a cold car. Seems like I finally get warm about the time I’m pulling into my driveway.

I really don’t like cold weather. You?

I hope a hummingbird doesn’t stick his tongue on this!

Podcasts! Azalea! Bunch of Turkeys!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:20 pm

Woke up to a cold morning!
2
There was even snow! I liked this snowflake. Pretty big, huh!
s

I took Kathy, Ashley and Miles out for lunch at IHOP.
a

We had 2 for 1 coupons. Can’t beat that, baby!

Worked on podcasts today! I always have fun with those. I think they really help you feel better!

My favorite of the two is Present Presence. I think it’s some good stuff!

Plus, I offer this podcast for those who ever feel like they should be on a diet. Eating Change.

Great day today handing out food to families!

 m

Cold in the mission today.
a

That’s always fun. I appreciate the generosity of my partners at 12 Stone Church.

Kids had homework. I figured this would be a light week. We’ll see. I told them we’d have the Christmas Party on Thursday. I’m looking forward to that!

Admin duties.

I liked the rainbows on this napkin.

And this sunset.

FBC Doraville! Ian and Ruthie! 12 Stone!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:42 pm

Fun day today!

I gave a Prayer Breakfast sermon this morning! It’s fun to go back and speak with the folks at FBC Doraville.
f

That’s the church where Kathy and I got married. So many great folks! And sadly, so many of them are gone.
a
p
c

I enjoyed Pastor Bill’s sermon too. Peace!
b

We need more peace and less pieces.

I sang bass with the choir. Haven’t done that in a while.

This is the church where my office is located. They’ve been very generous to me.
o

Then over to Open Table church to meet up with Ian and Ruthie North who are putting on a Refugee Beads exhibition.
r
Always great to see them!
i
I think the stuff that the Pastor’s wives make is awesome!
b
Ruthie had cooked up a big batch of chili. Groovy!

Came home and rested.

Then Ashley helped me go to 12 Stone Church in Lawrenceville and pick up about 40 honey baked turkeys. .
12

t
Beauty! That’ll make some families happy this year!

It was great to see Jon Lewis! He’s one of my favorite partners.
j

We came home and I’m knocking out my admin work.

REALLY cold weather today. And snow flurries! Ay Caramba!

Looked like tiny snowballs.

FBC White Springs, FL!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:27 pm

Wow! What a day!

Woke up early so I could be at N. Peachtree BC by 9:00am. Gave my team from White Springs, FL a briefing about what it’s like to work in the International Village.
t
Then took them on a tour of our area. That’s always fun!
t

We also had some delicioso quesadillas!
q

They did a great job painting the mission at Azalea! The place was looking pretty run down.
s
j
j
h

The kids were fascinated by the painting project but were forbidden to enter!
m

Sure looks better now!
p
After the painting was completed the group split up into two teams.

One team stayed at Azalea and worked with my kids.

a
j
t

I took the other team to Huntington Terraces to work with Bayo and his kids.
b
t

Patrick Shaw helped coordinate the group getting here!
p

I thought it was cool that they call Brother Bayo “Mr. Bible.” Not a bad nickname!
b

I got home about 8pm. Long day! But it sure was a good one!

Home now to work on admin duties then rest.

I speak to the Deacons at FBC Doraville tomorrow morning. I look forward to that! My girls will go with me. Excellent!

Run! Books! Tourist! Paint!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:58 pm

This morning I went to Stone Mountain to the Evergreen resort.
e

I always enjoy the beauty of that location, plus when the weather is really cold I run on their treadmill.
t

Been awhile since I ran but the 4 miles felt good!
s
Had a hamburger at Red Robin (love that Banzai!) then to Barnes and Noble to look at books. That’s my favorite thing to do on a “me” day.

While there I had a great conversation with my Mom in Texas. Great to talk with her!

Then over to the movie theater to watch the Tourist with Kathy. Two of our favorite starts–Angelina and Johnny! I thought it was a great movie.

On the way home, I stopped at Lowes to pick up supplies for the service project tomorrow.
l

I have about 20 people coming from Florida to work with the kids and paint the mission. It certainly needs it!

I’ll meet them at N. Peachtree BC around 9am to do a briefing, take them on a tour, get them started painting, then get them situated at the two missions where they’ll be working. Whew! It’ll be a full day!

Admin duties now. It’s a weigh of life.

Evergreen resort had probably the largest tree ornament I’d ever seen.
o

I love when the sun makes rainbows in the ice crystals.

Cold! Peace! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:14 pm

Man, was it cold this morning! Yow!
t
Water in my bird bath froze up. Hard to splash on a rock.
b
I pour steaming hot water in it in the morning so they have something to drink.

I enjoyed getting to know Vivian Wallace from Peace Baptist Church.
v
I took her to a couple of the apartment complexes in Clarkston and met with my partner Bennett Ekandem.
b

He’s been really sick. Glad he’s doing better!
Then over to Madina for some roast goat and chicken “chop chop.”
m
c
I always enjoy speaking Swahili to some of the folks who go there. A couple were from Senegal. Whipped some French on them. Fun!

Ashley took her last final today of the semester. I know she’s happy about that!
a

Came home and did some admin duties before going to Chamblee to work with the kids at the mission. Kathy and Ashley both came to help. Awesome!

I’ve been teaching the kids how to count money. They like using the dry erase boards to learn.
r
e

Angel is one of my favorite kids. He’s a wild one, but a sweetheart.
a

It’s not all learning at the mission!
j

We got finished pretty quickly so I played with the kids outside for awhile.

They like racing.
r
a

Traffic was bad coming home. Welcome to Atlanta, baby!

Admin duties again, then watch a movie with Kathy. Excellent.

I can always tell I’m in Clarkston because I see bumper stickers like this.

Oil! Cutter! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:22 pm

Errand day!

Got my oil changed. Not actually MY oil, but you get the idea.
o
Then over to the Post Office for stamps.
p
Sure do love those automated machines!

And to Staples for a new blade for my paper cutter.
c

Got some more coffee and filters. Critical morning procedure. The freshness date was weird to me. Even an hour and minute when it’s suddenly no good?
c

Came home to work on admin duties.

Then to the office to check the mail and to the mission to help the kids. Big group and lots of help. AMEN!

Pretty cold in the mission today.
c

Glad to have other partners there.
l
r

I liked this cloud picture.
c
It shows the difference between the lower and upper level winds. See how the undulating pattern are different angles? Is it only me who finds this stuff fascinating? Don’t answer that.

I liked this sticker!

Podcasts! Property Managers! Norths! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:20 pm

This morning I got up early to work on my podcasts for the week! This is episode 50! Pie or Cake?

And since we’re almost to the new year–here’s a podcast to help you change behavior! Check out Respect the edge! You’ll be glad you did!

t

Today Kathy and I went to the 57th Fighter Group restaurant for the Christmas party of the Chamblee Doraville Property Manager’s Association.
t
m

It’s a cool place with interesting decorations! Can’t beat airplanes!
b
p

Great food and fun fellowship!

Then over to Huntington Creek to visit with Ian and Ruthie North and their friend Garrett who also lives in that property.
i

They’ve had problems at their mission and I took them a air purifier. Hope it helps them a LOT!

Spent some time at my office working on admin duties and then to help the kids at the mission at Azalea.
t
j
f

I was there by myself, so it was pretty wild helping about 11 kids at the same time!

I’ve known Adreas for over ten years. He wanted to show me his engineering project.
e
It’s a locker organizer. He made it for his engineering class.

Super cold again today. Got down really cold last night. I feel sorry for the wild animals. I try to be especially conscientious about feeding the birds this time of year.

This was at my gas station. Frozen!

Jonathan! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:45 pm

Had a great time with my partner Jonathan Carnes from N. Peachtree Baptist Church today. We had a good time talking about mobilizing his church.
j
Also took him around the International Village just to get a taste of my life.

Went to Walmart and Office Depot to pick up stuff for the missions. Still looking for the replacement blade for my rotary cutter.
g

Then over to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.

l
b
q

s

Super cold today–40s. Yow! Here’s the tree I took pictures of earlier. Bare bones!

CIBC!

Tim A. Cummins @ 2:55 pm

This morning, K and I went to Clarkston International Bible Church.
c
Helps to get into the Christmas spirit.

Pastor Phil talked about the Virgin Birth. I’ve never had a problem with that or any of the miracles. We serve a SUPERnatural God!

K and I went to Pho Truc for lunch. Dig me some Vietnamese. Saw some other church friends of ours there.

We liked this sign in Burmese.
b

Back to admin work. Cold outside! 30s.

This has always been one of my favorite stained glass windows. It’s at CIBC.
c

Somehow this little baby embodied Christmas for me this morning.
