FBC Salado! Clinch River!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:59 pm

This morning I did a briefing with my team from FBC Salado, TX! They’re a great team!

This is their third time to work with us. PTL for these guy who are extraordinary workers!

They have 40 people working on a massive service project behind/between four apartment complexes in Chamblee/Doraville.
r

it’s a type of no man’s land that is terrifically overgrown and just flat nasty with trash.
t

They cleaned up the whole area and will start doing major brush cutting tomorrow.

Pray for Mikey, one of the youngster who sliced his leg on a glass bottle. He’s doing great, but had to have 12 stitches in his leg today. Also for Casey who picked up a dirty old jacket uncovering a nest of yellow jackets. He was stung at least ten times on his arms, hands and neck. He’s doing fine now too.

We haven’t gotten any more word about Lauren, the 11 year old that fell out of the top bunk and had to have brain surgery yesterday. I heard she’s in stable condition but nothing else. Pray for her!

The teams served in the Chamblee and Doraville area and are doing a terrific job!

My team from Clinch River, who I was also supposed to brief at 9am this morning didn’t make it into town until about 5:30 pm. They had a tire blow out on their trailer which caused it to rip off a bumper on the van. They also had a fan belt break. Wow! Spiritual warfare for sure.

I took them over to their four locations off of Roswell Road this evening. They’ve never done any kind of outreach like this before, but they did a terrific job!

I was very proud of them. Their Pastor Keith TIllman was ecstatic about their attitude. “After all they’ve been through, it’s amazing I never heard one complaint!” That’s a Jesus thing for sure!
j
K and I finally got home around 9pm this evening.

We enjoyed talking to Jesse on his way home. He’s doing great and enjoying New Hampshire. It was in the 70s today. My car said 99 degrees at one point today.

My catch phrase with the teams is, “It’s surprisingly cool in the shade!” That’s what they’re supposed to say if someone mentions it’s hot. You know, it really is surprisingly cool in the shade. . . ark, ark, ark.

Valley Ranch Baptist Church, Dallas, TX

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:19 am

Had a great day today with my Texas team! I always think they’re the best teams!
v
Guess cuz I’m a natural born Texan!

Although, honestly I love living in Georgia more!
t
Ashley, Ian and I each led a Greyhound sized bus to the missions in three different areas. These buses are HUGE! 8 foot longer than a standard bus. Yow!
b

Ashley covered the Clarkston, Decatur and Scotsdale section, Ian covered Chamblee and Doraville, and I also covered Norcross and sections of Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties.

We had a good time making sure that the bus drivers knew exactly where to go and the team leaders who came with us are ready to lead their teams into action!

The team from Valley Ranch BC will be covering 26 different apartment complexes. Awesome!

Then this evening I met the whole group at Georgia Tech where they’re staying. I did a briefing with the whole group then a more detailed how to section with the 130 folks that will be helping me at the missions.
v
Ian and Ruthie North also came to share a little about their ministry Refugee Beads. They do a great job with that.
i
Got home about 11:30pm. Furiously trying to knock out my admin duties before crashing out. I have to be back in Doraville at 9am to do a briefing with my other Texas team from Salado and then take them to their service project for the week.

My team from Tennessee had van problems and had to spend the night in Chattanooga. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed and be in town for me to give a briefing and show them their sites before lunch tomorrow!

The team from VRBC had one of the girls in their team fall out of the bunk bed at the GA Tech dorm, and cracked her head. She ended up having brain surgery this morning. Pray that the Lord will do an amazing healing on Lauren. AMEN!

I had a great talk with my Dad today! Give it up for Al Cummins! Best Dad EVER!
d
Jesse sent me a sweet message this morning.

Of course, nothing better than kisses from the most beautiful daughter in the universe!
