Rain yesterday! Amen!

Ashley and I were delighted to have Kathy and Miles along today!

We gave our briefing to the team from Bon Air. We shared about Islam and Hinduism.

Then led them to Al Madina to explore the N. African/Middle East flavor.

Global Mall was our next adventure with the Shiv Mandir.

The team was great with the kids at the missions.

Important to rest too!

Ashley and I did our usual bang up job with the briefings this morning.

Then took them to CD Tower where the Buddhist idols are.





Always interesting in the International Village.

Talk about a bad hair day.

Best part is the missions!

Judy, one of the group leaders, Ashley and I went to talk to Ken the manager of Panang Malaysian food. He worked out a great deal for them

We always enjoy giving the briefing.

Then taking them to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.

It’s a tradition to kiss the frozen pig head.

Of course working at the missions is always the best part.

I liked these two sisters.

While at Cumberland Court apartments I saw two Guatemalan ladies chatting. I went over to say hi to them and realized they weren’t speaking Spanish. I introduced myself and asked them what language they were speaking. They said, “Moom.” They told me that it’s and Indian tribal language spoken in the mountains of Guatemala and that there were 24 different languages in Guatemala! I was astonished by this! That’s one reason I love my job. I always see and hear things that I’ve never seen or heard before!

The team enjoyed Mexican food at Pollo Norteno. Delicioso!

Came home to rest and work on admin duties.

Kathy and I watched “Win, Win.” It was pretty good. Had Paul Giamato in it.

K and I went to Clarkston International Bible Church this morning. She rode her bike there from Stone Mountain.

Pastor Phil preached on Self Restraint.

Never an easy sermon to hear.

He also preached on Road Rage. Saw this bumper sticker where we ate lunch.

It’s patriotic Sunday!



After church I enjoyed talking to Cathy and Andrei Palmer for a few minutes. She’s like a sister to me.

Went to Big Joy for lunch. I liked this carving there.

It’s still hot! Yow!

Rested some in the afternoon.

Going to a cook out for the Mitchell and Doverspike family. I’m always a Plus One at those gigs.

I thought the desserts were beautiful.

Temperatures just kept rising in the car.

K and I watched some of Brave and MIB 3. We were a little too early for MIB3.

I liked them both ok. Neither was as good as I thought it was going to be.

Enjoying a nice rest day. Trying to keep cool. In the shade. Preferably with AC!

This morning I worked on editing the video for the Clements Baptist Church team.

It’s quite a process. First you have to edit the video. That includes doing all the graphics/titles. Then I lay a music background. Having a little music behind the video seems to really set the mood.

After the music I have to compress the file in order to upload it to YouTube. Over the years, I’ve been awarded a Director’s account. That means I can post video over 15 minutes long. The video I edited today was 27 minutes!

After uploading, I then burn a DVD for the church that I send to them by snail mail. It’s an even higher quality video that they can play at church. The YouTube video is also in HiDef!

I love this technology!

Kathy and I ate lunch at John Boy’s today. Great Southern cooking, by Koreans! I found this sign on the soap box interesting.

K and I watched a really cool Korean movie a couple of nights ago called “Castaway on the Moon.” It was a interesting piece. It’s available to stream on Netflix.

I have a spot on my arm that itches like poison ivy. That’s never zesty. ; (

Pray for Jesse as he’s looking for a place to stay in California. THANKS!

Did I mention it’s HOT? One really good reason to stay inside.

Got warm today. This is the hottest I’ve seen my car get so far this year.

Ashley and I had fun giving our last briefing to Clements BC this morning! We talked about folk Catholicism.

Then took them over to Plaza Fiesta! Always an assault on the senses!

K and I took Jesse to the airport today.

He’s headed back to California! He loves it there! Seeing that their high was about 80 and ours is 100, I can understand part of the appeal!

Sad to see him go.

Stayed up late last night working on my newsletter and labels. Got everything done!

I teach them how to tell the difference between Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese.

Ashley and I enjoyed Malaysian for lunch.

The best part of the day is always working with the kids at the missions.

Ash and I went to Azalea to spend some time with our kids and to have them help us do the labels for the newsletter.

We give them doughnuts as a thank you. Always groovy!

Home now working on admin duties. Miles and Ashley are coming over to eat supper. Jesse leaves tomorrow for California. Sad about that. High temperature in Menlo Park this weekend is low 80s. High here? Over 100! Weather is definitely better on the West coast!

SUPER tired on the way home. Didn’t get enough sleep last night. Had a short nap when I got home then started working on homework. I have a lot tonight, including my daily duties, writing my newsletter, writing a note for a friend for a new job and printing the labels for the newsletter. We’ll see if I get it all done!

Took a walk with Jesse yesterday.

Saw some beautiful flowers.

Saw this outdoor toilet.

I liked this name for a grandfather.

J leaves to go back to California on Wednesday. Sure am sad to see him go. 🙁
