Had a needed rest day today!

Went for a 2.25 mile run. Normally that distance is no problem for me. Today I ran around noon in the full sun. Gotta say it was a lot more challenging. Took a while to cool off afterwards.

Ate pizza at Cicis for lunch.

Went to Walmart to pick up some supplies.

Came back home to take a nice siesta!

I like my new hat. It’s a lot cooler than my other straw hat.

This morning I edited the video I shot of the teams from last week. I usually put it all together then add a music track with an ethnic flavor.

After it’s edited, I burn dvds on my computer and put them in a little protective sleeve in preparation to send them to the team leaders.

Worked on my email. We’re getting new prayer cards made. We’re almost completely out.

I took Kathy and Jesse out for a delicious Greek gyro.

I really like Messinas on 29 in Lawrenceville. Good stuff.

Kathy and Jesse hung out at the Book Nook for a while while I put some gas in the car and cleaned the windshields which were awful.

After I was done, they still wanted to stay and look at books. Normally, I am the first person to go to the book store, but the Book Nook is not my cup of tea. Not a big selection and I tend towards the new releases, not old stuff.

So I went to Goodwill and looked for tshirts. I found a good one with Einstein writing on a black board. In big letters it says “Listen to the Genius.” On the black board it says “Give Blood.” I thought it was a witty production.

This evening I enjoyed hanging out with Tommy and Katie who will be married in a little over a month. I like to have a premarital counseling session. I wore my new shirt. I thought it was funny to be counseling someone with a shirt on that says, “Listen to the Genius.” ; )

After Goodwill I walked through the antique store. I found a new globe. It’s in great shape. My line in the sand is if the globe says Tanganyika rather than Tanzania. That happened in 1964. So nearly fifty years old. I’d say that 95% of the globes I look at say Tanzania.

I also collect Yoda, my favorite character from a movie series. I like this cup from 1999.

Lots of other weird things there. Here’s a couple more I liked.

Picked up K and J from the Book Nook and went to T&G to pick up my car. It passed the emission test! Yeah! But needed front brakes, so I spent $316 to get that done plus the emission test. The Expedition needed some work as well. Nearly $300 for that as well.

What has shocked us is that Kathy’s car, the old van has passed the test the last three years in a row. It passed again this year and so the total for her was only $25.

I picked up my car and went to Walmart. Had a couple of things I needed to pick up, like stamps and Halls cough drops.

While I was there I found a new straw hat. I needed a new one to replace, at least temporarily, my other hat. It’s too tight and hot during the summer. Although this has been my favorite hat EVER.

The new one is not nearly as nice, but it’s loose and cooler. Two good things as the weather begins to heat up, like it did today. My car said 96 this afternoon. But so far June has been surprisingly cool.

Enjoyed my time with Tommy and Katie this evening.

Katie’s mom Ann came over to spend some time and visit with Jesse. J will be leaving on Wednesday to go back to California. He’s really looking forward to that. I’m glad he’s happy.

Admin duties now.

I gave my teams a briefing on Catholicism as is practiced here in the International Village.

Then took them on a tour of Plaza Fiesta, one of my favorite places.

I always see something unusual there!

Ashley and I shot pictures and video of the teams. This was their final day at the missions.

Home now to work on admin duties.

Had a fun time briefing my teams on Islam and Hinduism this morning.

Then we took them on a tour of Madina, a N. African grocery store that caters to Muslims.

Then over to Global Mall which is the largest S. Asian Mall in America. We spent time in the Shiv Mandir Hindu Temple.

After lunch, we worked at the missions. The teams are doing a wonderful job!

I liked Jhan’s shoes!

I also took a Kyle and John over to Clarkston to explore the Muslim community.

I thought this was the fanciest couch I’d ever seen.

Came home and ran 2.25 miles around my neighborhood.

Admin duties and rest now.

This morning I gave the briefing to the teams from six states: Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas and Mississippi!

Ashley and I took them over to the Buford Highway Farmers Market to show them the world!

Ashley and I tried something new today: Ho Tuk! Korean pancake with honey and sesame seeds. Groovy!

The teams did a wonderful job at the 15 locations being covered this week.

Always enjoy seeing my kids at Azalea!

Stayed up late Father’s Day evening to record a new favorite podcast! “Pennies!” Discover the wonders around you. It’s the little things that count . . . and add up!

This morning our whole family met with the leadership from Mobilizing Students to work out the final logistics for the teams working with us this week. We have over 160 students from Florida, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi serving in 15 locations around Chamblee and Doraville.

I gave them my “Take the Church, To the People”/Cambodia presentation and shared with them how to round up the kids at the missions.

They seemed to be a really great group!

Chris and his band rocked the house!

Back home not to rest and work on Admin Duties. I’m a bit tired since I also ran 2.25 miles this afternoon. My knee has been bothering me the last week, so it’s good to get back on the road!

GREAT to reestablish relationships with that church.

Had a fun time with my family going to Clarkston International Bible Church today!

We walked to church from Ashley’s house!

After church Kathy wanted to see the babies. And they wanted to see her!

Went to Jason’s Deli after church to visit with some of the Doverspike family. Always good to hang out with them.

Looking forward to going to the Kendall’s house this evening to visit with Miles’ family.

Had a fun time giving a briefing to my team from Temple BC, Moultrie, GA this morning!

I shared with them about Judaism and it’s relationship to Islam. Also talked about Hinduism.

Always great to have Ashley with me!

Then took them to Madina grocery store to see their library of Islamic books.

And to Global Mall to visit a Hindu temple. They thought is was very interesting.




I found this intriguing.

Best part of the day is always working with the kids. Had quite a few accept Christ. AMEN!

Came home to work on admin duties and rest.

Getting ready for the big group coming in on Monday. Should be fun!

Some good news from Washington!

After giving our team from Temple BC a briefing about Buddhism and Catholicism, Ashley and I took them to CD Tower and Plaza Fiesta. Always interesting!

They’re doing a wonderful job a the missions!

Came home to work on admin duties and enjoy a delicious meal that Kathy cooked for our family—including Miles and Ashley! Don’t get no better!
