Ashley and I had fun working with our team from Virginia Tech!

I gave them a briefing this morning.

Then took them to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.

On the way home, I noticed that they were pulling out the old tanks at the Shell gas station they destroyed this week.

That’s a LOT of gas!

Kathy and I had a fun lunch with Ashley and Miles today!

We took them out to eat to Always Fresh. Excellent! Ashley bought K a little purse that she can put her iPhone in!

Then over to see Dark Shadows.

We’re big Johnny Depp fans. We really enjoyed the movie. I love Tim Burton’s style.

Had a GREAT time with my team from Roswell United Methodist Church today!

Met them at the church and gave them a briefing on how to do an Outreach Event.

Taught them how to do balloon animals!

Then off to Concept 21 Roswell and Frazier St. apartments.

Lots of residents came out to join in the fun!

After the event ended around 3pm, I went to Marietta to see the Mineral show. I love seeing stuff like that.


I especially like the fossils. Sorry Jesse wasn’t there to see them with me.

The minerals were fantastic!

The best news was I only spent $10! Bought some little meteorites from Siberia. Cool!

Came home and enjoyed watching Source Code with Kathy.

Had a restful day today!

Dropped off my comforters at the dry cleaner. Spilled sweet tea all over them last night. Bad luck.

While in that complex I noticed construction going on at the old Kroger building. Like to see building. Shows a growing economy.

Worked on getting the rest of the supplies for the two block parties in Roswell tomorrow.

Took longer than I thought. Lot of stuff! I pulled one cart and pushed the other.

Then I went shopping again for our house.

Looks like we won’t have quite as many teams in June as we thought. That’s fairly typical that each team loses a few people before the final count is done.

Sometimes it’s adding people. I usually wait till about two weeks before the event before I talk with managers.

Came home to rest.

Enjoyed a restful morning at Evergreen at Stone Mountain. Beautiful, peaceful and SO cool it was unbelievable! Low 60s!

My suitcase zipper busted on my last expedition. Looked for some new ones today. Haven’t settled on one yet. I had a Wegner. It was really good. I called the factory to see if they could repair my old one, turns out to be cheaper to buy a new one. Welcome to America.

I saw this sticker at a children’s clothing store this morning. What is this kid doing?

Any of y’all Thundercat fans? I used to love that show.

Ashley and I went in to Chamblee early this afternoon to work on setting up new locations for the teams coming into town in June.

Looks like we got it all organized!

We still have to call all the locations to give them a heads up, but generally, once we’ve worked at a location it’s not a problem to come back the next year.

Went to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.

I hope most people can say this.

About a 1/2″ of rain last night and this morning. Excellent!

Still working on Team Assignments. Had the pastor from Westside Baptist Church, Ben Lehmann, call me this morning. His team will be working with us in July doing sports camps. Excellent!

Had a fun day today with two of my favorite people: Ashley and Todd Harrison!

Todd is one of the smartest business people I know. He is full of great ideas. He talked to us about making t-shirts today for the summer teams. Sounds like a plan! I’m glad that Ashley is here to help make that a reality!.

We talked with Cindy and Pure Fun. She’s in charge of the apparel section of their business.

This is one of the colors we like.

Ash and I then went to talk to new properties along the Buford Highway corridor. We made some good contacts, but still haven’t confirmed everything. More tomorrow! We see a lot of things like this.

Then to Azalea to help the kids with their homework. Still busy!

Came home and ran 2.25 miles. Been a while since I’ve run. I’ve been trying to heal up with all the congestion I’ve had. Feeling better, but pretty tired.

Ashley and Kathy went to a missions group at Smokerise Baptist Church. We saw one of the members later at Golden Corral.

Ashley and I spent most of the afternoon working on the Team Assignments page of our web site. We have to determine how many teams will be working in the area and where/when they’ll be working. It’s a big job when you factor in the transportation.

I got a dry erase board just for the job. Lots of changes!

Then over to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.

We still have over 20 kids that come in every day. And only 12 days left of school!

Stopped back to my office at FBC Doraville to pick up more supplies for the two block parties this coming Saturday!

I actually have my first Summer Team coming in on Monday! Group from Virginia Tech.

Looking forward to a restful evening after I finish my admin duties.

Really looking forward to seeing my friend Todd Harrison tomorrow. One of my favorite people!

My brother in law, Paul, dropped off some material to be scanned from the Baptist Tabernacle. Bill Doverspike, Paul and Kathy’s Dad, pastored there!

Enjoyed watching episodes of Castle with Kathy tonight. Love that show!

Kathy rode her bike from our house to Clarkston today! She’s an Iron Woman! I’m just her support crew.

We enjoyed Pastor Phil at Clarkston International Bible Church.



On the way into church, I saw this.

Looks like the rapture had happened. Out of gold shoes no less!

He spoke on pain and suffering. Not the easiest topic! Bottom line? We have pain, but God stands there with us through it. Tru dat!

Enjoyed perhaps the best meal I’ve had in the last six months! Simple, home cooked vegetables at Always Fresh in Mountain Park was absolutely amazing!

The broccoli casserole, white corn and bbq were delicious!

Came home and rested. I’ve been trying to do a lot more of that! I do feel like I’m making progress. My ears feel better.

Sore from the mowing workout yesterday. Truly the hardest thing I have to do physically. We live on a hill. Need I say more? Whole lotta yard.

Looks like all that’s left is dirt. But the monkey grass keeps on spreading. Go, monkey GO! I figure in another ten years it’ll look like a lawn.

Had a little rain Thursday night.

A proud Friday for us as we see our sweet Ashley graduate from Georgia Perimeter College with her Journalism degree!

It was fun hanging out with Miles and Kathy!

Came home after the event to rest, then on to see the Avengers! In 3D!!

Beautiful full moon last night. The frogs were really croaking.

Saturday morning I fixed Kathy’s bike, repaired some upholstery in the van, fixed the lawnmower wheel and mowed the yard! YOW!

I live on a half acre of land. It’s a lot to mow.
