Kathy and I went to Clarkston International Bible Church this morning.

We missed seeing Pastor Phil. We listened to a report from the Gideons instead. Interesting, but not nearly as good.

Took K out for Chinese food in her old neighborhood when she was a kid. I skipped this.

Saw her old elementary school Hooper Alexander.

Then over to the Zoo.

Traffic was horrendous. Soon we realized that it was the $5 zoo day. The place was PACKED.

We went through the member’s express line and headed straight to the tiger cubs. That’s really what we wanted to see.

They were fantastic!

Pretty much came straight on home after that. It was sort of like 6 Flags meets the Zoo. Definitely not zesty.

We did stop for a brief ride through Oakland Cemetery.

I liked the houses near the zoo.

And this church.

I thought this was funny.

I had a fun day today. Accept for paying bills.

Started out with a Red Robin hamburger. It looks like it’s smiling at me. And I was smiling back!

Enjoyed going to the bookstore.

I was in an eclectic mode today. Started in the Business section. Moved on to Marketing. Helped myself to a big dollop of Psychology. Laughed at the Humor section. Even went through some DVDS.

Sounds like something I’d say. In fact, I may HAVE said it.

Although I wondered how a person could write this and actually get paid for producing it.

Ashley came by to visit me today! Woot! Always awesome to see her!

This morning I recorded a new podcast!

We’re working on our newsletter for this month. I took the paper over to the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association office so they can print it up for us on Monday morning. Ashley already has hers done. Way to go, ASH!

Couldn’t believe gas prices jumped up .15 in one day! Yow!

Went to the $1 store to look for little gifts for friends. I saw this box and thought the pills made you go to the bathroom. Silly me.

On the way out from the store I found this on the ground.

Enjoyed watching multiple episodes of Big Bang with Kathy this evening along with one of her favorites, Chloe and Lamar. Those krazy Kardashians!

Had a good morning. Ran 3.25 miles. The weather was amazing. I can’t believe it got to nearly 80 degrees and it’s February 23!

Saw some beautiful flowers on my trail.

I also liked these berries and leaves.


Sweet ol’ Sugar dog got pretty tired.

Some things puzzled me, however.

If they’re trying to locate something, why are there two arrows?

This sign was at an elementary school. Seems to me it should be at a retirement home.

I got a sandwich at Quiznos. I found this sign odd.

Went to the dentist this afternoon. 100% perfect teeth. Yeah, baby!

This picture was on the wall near the chair I sat in. I felt like the cactus was shooting me the bird.

I got stamps for our newsletter. The kids enjoyed using them.

I saw these at the pet store. I never occurred to me that Sugar may need to share my vitamins.

It got so warm I actually wore flip flops! Wow!

I’m getting a care package ready for Jesse in California. Bought his neighbors some items from the Chinese shop. I liked these replicas of old coins.

Miles came and helped me with the kids. Sure am glad he was there.
They didn’t have a lot of homework, but they just kept coming in . . .

Enjoying time with Kathy. Although I’m not super crazy about her choices of what to watch. Wife Swap? I dunno . . . I guess it’s a way to show love.

I always enjoy showing people the wonders of this city!

There’s always something new and extraordinary to see.

After they left to go home, I went to Best Buy to pick up a new camera for my friend Bayo His camera broke. Bahd luck. I’m sure he’ll enjoy the new one. Canon rocks!

Then to my office a FBC Doraville to check on the mail.

And to Azalea to meet up with Ashley and Miles to help the kids. Always fun.

Enjoyed eating supper with them in Chamblee before heading home to Stone Mountain and Kathy. She was really tired so went to sleep early.

Jesse called. Talked with him for nearly two hours. What a blessing he is! He’s been having a fun time with some of my friends who live in California as well as making a bunch of new friends! Sure am happy for him

Had a fun lunch today with one of my favorite partners: Steve Nolan! We worked together for years in the Duluth/Lawrenceville area. It was good to talk about ministry and share contacts that could help.

Did the shopping. It’s a weigh of life.

Came home and took Sugar for a 2.25mi run.

Perfect weather. Makes me miss Kenya!

Sadly, the freeze wiped out many of my favorite blooming trees and bushes. Heartbreaking for a flower freak like me.

Admin duties and continue watching Gone With The Wind with Kathy this evening. We live in Scarlett Woods subdivision, off of Tarleton Drive, near Rhett Butler Rd. Our address is on Pitty Pat Ct! What an amazing movie. Last time I saw it was in Nairobi, Kenya almost 40 years ago!

Kathy showed me these pictures that her Mom gave her. She’s second from the left. What a cutie!

Kathy was griping at me today saying how bored she was. I was definitely going to change that today!

We started out at Clarkston International Bible Church. Great to meet Ashley and Miles there.

Pastor Phil preached from Joshua on not playing it safe. Good thought!

We had lunch with the kids. Always fun to spend time with them. Miles regaled us with behind the scenes stories from the zoo. Did you know they check the lion’s blood pressure using his tail?

After lunch we decided to go check out the circus. I did some research and the cheapest seats were $14 each. I thought that was reasonable.

We suffered through horrible traffic to get down to Phillips Arena. Apparently there was a national cheerleading championship going on at the Georgia Dome.

We found a free (!) place to park. If you know that area that’s a miracle in itself. We made our way to the arena and were already about 20 minutes late for the 3pm show. I checked out all the lines and went to one that looked promising. The family in front of me were buying tickets. When they were done, he turned to me and said, “You want these tickets?” I said, “Sure!” Checked to make sure they were real and K and I walked in!

It was fun to have experienced the zoo yesterday seeing the elephants and tigers and seeing the circus today! It’s amazing how you can train animals!

It really was a cool show.

We came home to rest and enjoy our company. Kathy said, “I wasn’t bored today!” Mission accomplished, baby!

I enjoyed a quiet morning! Kathy is feeling better and went for a bike ride.

I took care of some admin duties including renewing our AAA membership. All our four cars have at least 100,000 miles on them. Pretty much a necessity for us.

Hooked up my new UPS for my electronics.

Had a delicious burger at Red Robin. My favorite!

Then went to Clarkston to pick Kathy up on her bike and off to one of our favorite places: the Atlanta Zoo!


It’s even better now since our son Miles (Ashley’s husband) works there. It’s cool to get “behind the scenes” info on the animals. Can you believe he got to feed the tiger cubs this morning? How cool is that?

We always love to see the animals, even though it was a bit cold and started to drizzle.

We enjoyed the special bird show.

The Zoo is always improving! Soon we’ll be able to feed Giraffes! Haven’t done that for a long time!

We renewed our membership.

There are only two bills I don’t mind paying. Zoo memberships and library fines.

Kathy is still not feeling well. I’m better, but my reaction to that amoxcillin still left me an itchy beast.

I took her to Global Mall on Friday for some delicious Indian food. I love that culture. I thought this sign was interesting.

And this one caught my eye because of the traditional Indian names.

Then took her to The Forum to look at new shoes. She got some new Merrells. She’s worn the last pair over ten years!
