Podcast! Norcross Recon!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:29 pm

Had a fun day today!
t
Recorded a new podcast!
p
Two days in a row! I’ve found it’s best that when I have the time USE IT!
p

Next week starts the Summer Teams. Not sure how much time I’ll have then.

This was a fun episode. Use more of your mind in powerful ways. Check out “Depth Artist.” CLick on the title and groove!

The whole family joined Ashley and I as we did a recon of the apartments in the Norcross area. We’re trying to stay ahead of the curve as we plan for the biggest weeks in the Summer.
a

We visited six different apartment complexes. We determined the best four for the teams to work in during the week in June.

c

Also got to visit with Cornelia Harrell the director for the mission at Legacy Commons.

We met with the managers, let them know when the teams were coming and what they’ll be doing.

Uploaded the pictures and made several new galleries to reflect the new mission locations or name changes.

Came home to work on admin duties.

Had a good talk with my parents on our way home from Norcross. Mom has gone through 9 of the 50 radiation treatments so far. She’s feeling great!

I went through the “Time Capsule” today. That’s what we call our basement area where we’ve stored about a hundred boxes of stuff from years back. I was trying to find a small box of coins. Never did put my hands on that, but did discover other cool things including old photo albums and tie tacks that my Grandfather gave me. One of them had a lion claw on it. Yow!

This is one of my best efforts. It’s called“INpossible!” Click on the title and find out where the future is headed!
r

I also spent some time posting my creative writing onto my Twitter feed. I have over 84,000 followers.
t
Jesse told me this morning that I have posted over 8,000 of my proverbs! WOW! I’m a prolific piece of business!

K and I had lunch together. I always enjoy that.

Got gas in my car. Prices seem to be creeping up.

g

Went to the mission with Ashley and Jesse. No real homework, but still good to hang out with the kids.
m
a

Jesse worked with Rashawn on computer stuff.
r

Cooked hotdogs for the kids.
h

Also stopped by Walmart to pick up a ream of paper for my friends at the office at FBC Doraville. They helped us with a project recently.

Mushrooms! Star Trek!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:29 pm

Had a fun time with Kathy and Jesse at Crazy Ron’s BBQ for lunch!
r

J and I worked on our mushroom project today. He bought spores for us to put into dead trees to grow mushrooms.
j
h
Today we drilled holes into the logs. We’re probably also going to drill holes into a tree that’s still standing. Then we hammer in the little dowels with the mycelium in them into the holes.

There were already some tiny mushrooms growing.
n
m

J and I also went to see the new Star Trek movie “Into Darkness.”
j
It was GREAT! I thought it was one of the best of the series.

i
Went to T&G to pay for car repairs for the Ashley’s Mustang and Jesse’s Expedition. Trying to keep these old cars running isn’t cheap. The Mustang repairs were over $800.

Home now to work on admin duties.

Looking forward to an Outreach Event tomorrow with Redeemer church!

Matt! Recon! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:23 pm

Had a fun lunch with my partner Matt Johns and Ashley today!
m
We talked about work and the future of ministry in the area.

a

Ash and I hammered out the details of the teams coming into town. One week we have over 200 serving in our area. Takes time to figure out the logistics of that many people!
l

Rode up to Sandy Springs to check on some mission locations in that area.

Then to the mission to help the kids.
t

Not much going on. Five more days till school is out for our kids! They’re fired up about that! Most enjoy playing the video games.
v

They don’t want to leave!
d

Came home through terrible traffic. Sure made my leg tired stomping on the brake.

Admin duties now. Jesse is feeling really sad. Pray for him.

I thought these flowers were gorgeous!

NYC!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:24 pm

Just got back from my vacation in New York! I really had a wonderful time, although I’m tired out! In four days I walked over 52 miles! YOW!
The hostel I stayed out was in a good location, but I never really slept well. c

I toured a lot of my favorite things! These included the Museum of Modern Art, the 9/11 memorial, the Guggenheim, the Empire State Building (all the way to the 102nd floor!), St. Patrick and St. Bartholomew’s Cathedrals, Grand Central Terminal, the NY Public library, Rockefeller Center, the Marx Brothers home, and the Trinity Chapel. g g j f 90
Also really enjoyed seeing some of the best portraits and sculptures of Ben Franklin. http://whirlwindmissions.smugmug.com/Trips/NYC-59-1313/i-8RfRL6g/0/M/IMG_3297-M.jpg b
Went to the Natural History Museum and learned about Theodore Roosevelt, my new favorite president! Visited his childhood home. Also so the Rose Space exhibit, a new show on IMAX on Monarch Butterflies and a butterfly conservatory. tr t t b b f Loved the dinosaurs! d t d
I had a historical theme to my trip and visited many of the squares and buildings associate with the Revolutionary War and George Washington in particular. g g g
Also liked the film and entertainment side of NYC and went to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and to the Film Biz Recycling center for props.

The flowers were amazing! f f f The main reason I went to NYC for this particular trip was to see Todd Rundgren who played an amazing show! Enjoyed meeting him and had a nice chat after the show. t t t t Really an amazing trip. Sure am glad to be HOME!
