This morning I cleaned up the tree that fell in my back yard. Big trees choke out little trees.


I had to put my wind sculpture back up.

Bleached and cleaned out nectar for my hummingbirds for the last time of the year.

The feeder by my bedroom is my favorite.

I’m not sure if they’re still around. Sometimes migrants come through. Did you know they winter in Texas and as far south as Costa Rica?

This is my “Raptor Blind.” I built it for the kids when they were in elementary school. It was about 20 feet high and had a zip line that you rode down to the ground. Ashley broke her arm on it.

I’ve taken the platforms down, not safe.

When I think about the stuff we’ve done together, I guess I’ve been a pretty cool Dad.

Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission.

They were welding part of the landing above the mission.

I had to make sure the kids came through the back door so they didn’t get a shard of molten metal in their scalp. That’s not zesty.

Did some shopping at Walmart.

Working on getting some extra keys made for the Chrysler.

Now I have to program them.

I liked these flowers.

Admin duties now. K and I watched Criminal Minds. I don’t really like that show.

Went for a 6.4 mile bike ride with a 4.24 mile run sandwiched in the middle.

Always something cool and beautiful to see.

The Yellow River was swollen and muddy from the rain last night.

Welcome to America!

Early morning for me today! Met up with Ashley in Clarkston and we drove up to the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church in Duluth.


Doesn’t Ashley look like Jasmin? We wore our Indian outfits today.

We spoke to the Mandarin speaking congregation, everything that we said was translated. Reminded me of back home in Kenya.

The numbers correspond to a eight note octave scale.

It was interesting to see the similarities across cultures.

They were a great crowd.

Ash and I enjoyed pizza at Cicis on the way home. We also picked up some fresh bandages for her booboo on her arm. And a cone for her dog Moogs.

I thought this picture at Pet Smart was funny.

I will admit, we do dress Sugar up from time to time. Why? Because it’s dad gum hilarious.

A nail salon was nearby. Honestly, this kind of freaked me out.

I only slept about five hours last night. Came home for a good nap.

I loved these cirrus clouds.

Means rain in 24-48 hours. Indicates upper level moisture.

Had a fun day today! Rode my bike 4.01 miles and ran 3.54. Warmer than it’s been lately. Always beautiful!

I saw this in the concrete.

Rested at the house then went to Cafe Istanbul to celebrate Ashley’s husband Miles’ birthday! Quarter century!

I wonderful time was had by all.

Great company, delicious food and belly dancing! Woot!

Home now for admin duties.

I’ll be getting up tomorrow at 7:30am to get all the way to Duluth to preach at the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church tomorrow morning. I’m actually speaking to the Mandarin congregation so it’ll be translated. Should be interesting!

Picked up the comforter that I had cleaned.

On the way there I saw this HUGE mess on the side of the road. Over 200 small sponges for surgical procedures were everywhere.

It was so offensive to me that I pulled over, got a trash bag out and picked them all up.

I found this little pin on the ground as I was cleaning up.

Went to Lowes to get a gas siphon for to get the gas out of the van.

I loved this Halloween decoration. It’s 16 feet tall!

Jesse and I went to see Gravity in IMAX 3D. It was an unforgettable experience.

Can’t believe I didn’t get a better picture of us.

Kathy has had a bad ear and our good friend and doctor Pat Barrington called in a round of antibiotics to help her. I picked up the meds after the movie and took them to her.

Then I left again to go see my good friend Manny Mitra who now lives in Turkey! He was here representing our mission board. Can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of him either. Must be losing my touch. We had a great time hanging out. Showed him some of the International Village. Then ate at Waffle House. It’s a beautiful thing.

Had a fun lunch with Jesse. Always great to hang out with him.

Met up with my friend David Jones from Mobilizing Students today.

He’s a good guy. I gave him some advice and tips about how’s best to start apartment complex work. I was glad Ashley was there too to give her input.

Enjoyed working at the mission with Ashley.

I was so proud of the Jarin’s work on her project.

We also went grocery shopping afterwards.

K and I enjoyed watching TV together.

Went for a 5.13 mile run this morning. Always something beautiful and interesting to see!

I thought this was weird.

Here’s my running shadow. I see it a lot.

Went to visit my friends at Al Madina and at the Buford Highway Farmers Market today. I like to say “Howdy!” to my friends! I’m also looking for something for my Mom. I thought this can was interesting.

Helped the 5th graders with their science project.

J helped at the mission then we enjoyed supper together. Never too much Jesse!

These honeybees were attracted to someone’s spilled drink. Did you know that honeybees are endangered in our country?
Whole hives die without a seeming cause. Bizarre.

Cleaned out the fish tank this morning. The sand is still settling.

Did some creative writing and posted to my server.

Had fun working with the kids.

We started making the cell project.

Johnny is learning the Evangacube.

It was great to see Tabias again! He was always one of my favorite kids. He’s a fine young man now.

Always plenty to do!

Went shopping for groceries.

I’ve had friends with sleep problems so I did a special episode of Verbal Surgery called “Knockout!”

Went for a 6.77 mile bike ride and a 4.31 mile run this afternoon.

I’ve never seen two separate colors of flower on one tree before.

I liked this long shot.

I found this today. It’s half a $1 bill. Does that count as finding .50c?

Ate a sub with Jesse after I got back and cleaned up. Then we went to look at the new iPhone 5S. Looks groovy.

I like the fingerprint recognition.

Stopped by the Hobby Lobby to pick up supplies for the 4th graders cell project.

Hmmmm.

Finished the DVD project today for the Team Whirlwind promotion. Added the last scene then uploaded the video to You Tube. Now the job of burning all the dvds.

After you burn them, you have to check every copy.

Then put the labels on.

Here’s my work space.

Waited for lunch till Kathy came home from Columbia, SC. That was about 4pm. GREAT to have her home. I don’t like being in the house by myself. Paul and Luke liked the t shirts.
