Had a fun day today. I miss Kathy. She’s with her brothers and sister visiting her Uncle Jack.

Enjoyed a Chai Latte at Barnes and Noble.

Then had the delightful job of paying bills.

Finished editing the Team Whirlwind dvd. Started burning hard copies now. It’s on YouTube at

I’ll probably burn around 30 to send out to perspective youth directors. We can do SO much more work if we had more help!

Went for a 12.l0 mile bike ride to Stone Mountain and back from my house.

Kathy cleaned our garage with bleach. As it run down the hill it made interesting patterns.

This sort of thing always makes me stop and wonder.

Rainy day today!

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders. It’s a really important time for them as they stock up on nectar before flying back to Mexico and Texas! That’s a LONG way for a little bird!

Worked on my shoes.

Painted them last night with white spray shoe paint. Today I used the hot glue gun to glue back where some of the rubber in the front was coming apart.

Enjoyed a fun day with Ashley!

She came to get me and we went to Marietta to check on a possible car she wanted.

Ate delicious Brazilian food at Sabor do Brazil.

The dealer said that the car would be ready about three hours later than he said it’d be ready. So we decided to walk around the square in Marietta—one of my favorites!

They have a great antique store there. I always find something interesting to look at.

Went to the WEEGO dealer in Marietta to pick up the Jeep and take it to the mechanics for a look over. After about an hour, the verdict was in.

He thought we should pass on the car. Particularly because it had a transmission issue. Kind of sad. We were hoping to get the new car figured out today.

Took so long with the car plus the bad weather that we didn’t go to Azalea today. When it’s rainy, there usually aren’t nearly as many kids.

When I got home my neighbor asked me why she should have foam on her roof. Weird.

Wrote and produced my two pages of the newsletter this morning.

Also printed out the labels so the kids could help.

Went for a 5.39 mile run this morning. Beautiful weather. I actually tried to run in the sun it was that cool! Love the flowers!

Enjoyed eating supper with Jesse. We got some equipment from the church for a movie night he’s doing for the kids. Admin duties now. Enjoying watching “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” on dvd.

K and I try and get away for a long weekend a month.

Doesn’t always work out that way, but it’s something we always look forward to.

Decided to try Dahlonega this weekend. We’re looking for places even closer to home. It’s about 65 miles from my house. Not too bad!

Went into the Consolidated Gold Mine.

The soil has a lot of iron. That’s what gives it the rust color.

Down 250 feet.

In one day they pulled 54 lbs 9 oz of gold out of this mine! It was the largest vein of gold ever seen. The gold is found in quartz veins like this one. A normal size line is about the width of your finger. A large vein is the size of your hand. In this mine, the vein was 24 feet wide!

Believe it or not they used children to scamper through the mine shafts to let the miner know when they were getting ready to blow up the tnt. I reckon that made them minor miners.

They had a scarecrow competition.




Loved the lighting on the old buildings.

Had a rainy Saturday. Enjoyed a restful day and some delicious food.

Ate lunch. Deposited a check at the bank. Then went home to rest.

Worked on editing the promo video for Whirlwind Missions.

After I edit the piece, I send it to dropbox.com then Ashley can download it.

Mission with the kids was wild. LOTS of kids and some of them are really super loud. Still fun.

They had to write something about bullying. Here’s the illustration.

Ate supper with Jesse. Always good.

Then home for admin duties.

Watched the Mentalist with Kathy.

Full moon!

Spent most of my morning getting new tires for the Altima.

The front left tire was splitting causing a bad vibration and danger. The men at East Stone Mountain Tire and Battery did a great job!

We changed all four. They were all bad.

Now she’s running great!

Checked on the hotel rooms for the team from the Worship Place that’s coming. I’m really looking forward to them. Ash and I talked with April who is the reservations/sales manager.

Had to go get some protractors and small rulers so they could measure the angles. When I paid I noticed a Pay Pal button. First time I’d ever seen that.

Had supper with Ash and Miles, and Jesse! Good times!


Went to Walmart to buy the groceries.

Worked over an hour laying in the audio bed and the cover video for the promo DVD Ash and I are working on. The hard part is not the editing. That’s easy for me. It’s FINDING the shots you need that is amazingly challenging. Looks good! Ashley will put the final touches on with the graphics.

I thought this spider was cool. It was about as long as my index finger. No, I didn’t kill it.

Ran 5.18 miles this morning. Seemed pretty hard.

I always see something interesting.

It was great to eat lunch with the Ashley, Kathy and Jesse! We missed Miles!

What a car!

Ashley and I worked on the promotional video we’re sending to churches. The skies the limit to how much outreach we could do when we have more people coming!

Worked with the kids at the mission.

I had a 8th grader named Nixon who didn’t hardly speak English. Seems to be a pretty smart kid. Had to talk to the science teacher of one of the kids. He’s not doing well. Ash and I will have to spend a little extra time with him.

We took the Altima in to our mechanic. He said it was a problem with the left front tire, it could have come apart. Yow! I’ll take it to my tire guys tomorrow.
