Dropped off the financial report that Ashley produces to our treasurer.

Ashley and I had fun with our team this morning!

We briefed them on Buddhism.

Then took them to Asian Square.








Always fun!

Then to the missions to work with the kids.

Bagged up clothes that were given to us and took them to St. Vincent de Paul. We offered the clothes for free to the community. Not much was taken.

We got a couple of Vietnamese sandwiches and took them to Jesse when we went to Azalea.

Ashley and I also contacted 21 different apartment complexes to confirm our teams for the next ten days.

Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team from Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North West this morning!



Took them to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.

And then to the missions to work with the kids.

We also got Ashley’s leaking air tire fixed. And her oil changed.

And mailed off packages. I sent a little gift to my Mom.

Checked on the teams.

Drove home about 7pm.

Watched USA beat Ghana 2-1 tonight. WOW!

Went outside to put some food out for the birds. The raccoon I’ve been seeing let me get close to him. He liked the dog food the best.

Happy Father’s Day to MY DAD! I enjoyed talking with him this afternoon.

Ate lunch at Thai of Norcross with Kathy, Jesse, Ashley and Miles. Good time was had by all!

Took Kathy home, then went to Walmart to pick up some diapers for the North’s baby shower. Figure you can always use those.

Had fun with the community!

Ian and Ruthie are AWESOME!

Then back home to get ready for next week.

Watched Captain Phillips with Kathy. We’ll finish the movie tomorrow.

Finished up editing the videos for the three teams from last week.

Burned DVDs for each team, put them in envelopes, found the addresses of the churches and put them in the mail.


After I’ve uploaded the video to YouTube, I send the team an email with all the URLs to the photo galleries and the link to the video.

Picked up some meds from the pharmacy.

Mailed the packages to the churches.

Met up with Jesse for lunch.

Went by the ATT store to upgrade my wife’s phone to my old phone.

Jesse still had to work on it with his computer to get it set up properly. THANKS to Jesse for that!

J and I went to see Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

Really liked the movie. Tom Cruise really showed a real transformation in a character in that movie.

Went back to Azalea for Jesse to finish working on Kathy’s new phone, aka my old iPhone 5.

Home to work on admin duties.

Looking forward to time with Kathy soon.

Worked on editing the video I shot this week with the teams. Slow process!

Went for a 5.17 mile run this morning. Beauty!

Found a little turtle in the road. I put him in the sun in the grass.

I guess the opposite of a con trail is a pro trail?


The plane’s flight path has to be the exact level of the clouds for this to happen.

Rested when I got home, then more editing.

Watched some World Cup. I was pulling for Mexico!

Kathy was working at her Aunt Orene’s house. Orene is in the hospital and not doing well. Pray for her.

Unpacked Kathy’s truck for her, then hot glued the rubber seals on her car. They’ve been coming loose.

Enjoyed watching Suits and Royal Pains with K this evening.

Ashley and I had a fun time with our teams on our final day of their week!

We briefed them on Catholicism, always something interesting!

Then we had our commitment time. The team member passes the baton from one person to another and says, “He’s counting on ME.”


At the end of the session they can sign the Landing Pad!

Took them to Plaza Fiesta. What a wonderful place!

Met up with David and Shannon Tate–two of my favorite missionaries who have been serving in New Hampshire. As well as with Jeff Reams who is the Missions Director from Dunwoody Baptist Church. One of our best partners! We had a good prayer time together after lunch.

Jesse also met us for lunch. Excellent!

After many years of encouragement, he’s finally gotten into the flip flop scene! Way to go, Son!

Ash and I visited the teams on site. What a blessing they’ve been.





The traffic, however, was the anti-blessing. Horrible. Finally made it home!

Got home and gave myself a haircut and scrubbed the tub and shower.

Working on admin duties now.

Ashley and I had fun briefing our teams on Islam and Hinduism this morning.

Then took them to Global Mall and Al Madina!

Met up with my friend David Tate this afternoon.

He’s a missionary in New Hampshire. I’ve been talking to him and his wife about relocating to our area in Atlanta. We certainly need their help!

Checked on the teams at the mission.





Came home in absolutely brutal traffic. Took nearly an hour and a half to get home.

Stopped by Walmart to get a few things for the house.

Enjoyed supper with Kathy and Jesse. He’s been staying at our house for the last ten days while we had the team from the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North living at Azalea in his apartment. After supper this evening, he moved back home. He’ll be missed!

Transplanted my new Venus Fly Traps into their terrariums.

Ashley and I had a great time briefing our BIG total teams from Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee and Georgia this morning. We get might rowdy!


We took them on a tour of the Buford Highway Farmers Market before leading them to the missions.

GREAT time with some wonderful folks.

Came home to work on admin duties. We’re still working on getting our space back from Chamblee Heights to use for an after school program. Pray for that as well as the teams in town.

Also added lights and moss to my terrarium for the Venus Fly Traps that are on the way to my house.


Had fun watching the Mentalist with Kathy this evening.

Big group added tomorrow. Yeah, baby!

Rained about 1/4″ last night.

Rested this morning.

Worked on a new podcast! Always one of my favorite things.

All of life is made up of choices. There are almost infinite amounts of choices but the critical thing is to “Choose!” Just click, on the title and groove!

After recording I went for a 5.04 mile run. Started off terrific. Kept getting hotter. Welcome to the Summer! Still beautiful!

Got the DVDs in the mail to the teams.

Rested when I got home.

Then worked on cleaning the fish tank.

Met up with the Mobilizing Students leadership this evening. Had a fun supper with them, then took my two leaders to the six locations that their teams will cover.



Dropped them back off at FBC Doraville, then back to Stone Mountain to rest at home. Didn’t get back till about 9:30pm.
