Looks like we made it through the ice storm!
Finally started to melt off.
Cleaned the house. Vacuumed.
Used the swiffer to mop the kitchen and laundry area.
Cleaned some carpet stains left by our dog. Thanks a lot, Sugar.
Cleaned windows.
Enjoyed watching TV with Kathy. We celebrate Valentines a bit early. I made her a little heart shaped note.
Been reading the Geology Sites book. Had fun glancing through the paper airplane book. It’s like complicated origami. I learned a couple of patterns.

This morning I worked on an application for grant money for one of the kids at the mission. I had to write an essay about why he should receive the scholarship.
Hope the support him!
I finally got the Glif in the mail. It’s a holder for an iPhone.
It can be used as a stand.
As well as a way to connect the iPhone to a tripod.
That’s great when using the iPhone for a video recording.
Looked at a bottom drawer in my desk today. I wonder when the last time I did that was? Floppys and 35mm film. Wow.
Cold day outside. Kind of rainy. I enjoyed eating lunch with Kathy.
Restful afternoon as we hunkered down to avoid the big ice storm. Really nothing to speak of.
Had fun watching many episodes of the Middle with K.
Been reading books that I got on Amazon, including a book on memory, another on snowflakes, clouds, building props, Steampunk and what I’m currently looking at 101 Geo locations in the USA. FUN!

Monday I edited and produced the video of the team from Argentina and One Heart Church.
To consider a Team complete, I edit the video I’ve shot, upload it to YouTube, burn a DVD, and send an email to the leader sharing the links of all the photo galleries and the video on YouTube. I then write a short note and mail the dvd to the leader of the team.
Our goal at Whirlwind Missions is to provide the best missions experience EVER. Customer service is one big thing that sets our ministry apart.
Posted some creative writing onto my Twitter feed.
I finally completed the Annual Registration for Whirlwind Missions. Their “upgraded” website leaves something to be desired.
Enjoyed lunch at Kathmandu Grill with Ashley and Miles. They worked all weekend in Columbia, S. Carolina. There was a mission conference that Ashley attended. She did great. What else is new?
Worked at the mission with the kids.
I’ve been studying a book on Memory by Harry Lorayne. Absolutely fascinating. A central point of the book is that the brain remembers best in pictures. Just figuring out a crazy picture to illustrate that forces your brain to have “original awareness” which is the first step to really remembering something.
So when I’m helping the kids, I’m always trying to think of ways to have the visualize what I’m teaching them.
Enjoyed supper with Jesse. Then went to Walmart to pick up some supplies. Supposed to have a big storm on Tuesday. The place was PACKED and whole aisles of stuff missing. Pretty crazy.
Finally got home around 10pm.

Saturday evening I cleaned out my fish tank.
I also painted some messed up parts of my floor. They were destroyed in a fire in my room in 2006.
Kathy and I enjoyed going to church this morning at Clarkston International Bible Church.
Pastor Phil spoke on the authority of the Bible. Interesting historical facts.
Ate lunch with Jesse. Always good.
Then went back to Clarkston to start our ride to Stone Mountain.
We rode about 5 miles then decided to go back to Clarkston.
I was afraid we’d get caught in the dark. Not good.
We stopped to rest at the graveyard. I found these red hibiscus flowers near the edge of the cemetery. I thought they looked good on my bike.
My head got cold. I put a plastic bag on my head to keep the air off it.
Police helicopter kept circling where we were riding. Wonder if they caught who they were looking for?
We saw a Marta bus getting towed.
I like train tracks. They always remind me of my Grandfather who worked for the Tex Mex Railroad.
Why exactly?
I liked these vines.
I’ve been studying Steampunk art. It uses a lot of mechanical wheels like this, but tiny.
Enjoyed watching recorded episodes of The Middle with Kathy. I like that show.
I’ve tried to fill in the application for our annual registration with Whirlwind Missions. The State of Georgia web site has been “improved.” Yeah, right. I can’t even download the form. Maybe it’ll work tomorrow.

New podcast this morning!
I love using my new equipment. The recordings sound awesome. In honor of the Olympics I created “THIRST Place”
Just click on the title and GROOVE!
I enjoyed a fun lunch with Kathy and Jesse today. K took the boys out for Red Lobster.
It was really good.
Met up with my team from Argentina. Seven ladies make up this fun team.
I enjoyed explaining most of what I do in Spanish, although most of them spoke really good English.
Had fun taking them to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
We also visited Asian Square.
Then went over to Azalea Place to invite people to the block party we’re going to do tomorrow.
They plan on singing and doing some drama in Spanish. I think it’s going to go over great!
Tried to drop off a box at UPS, just missed their pick up.
I enjoyed watching the latest Duck Dynasty where the two brothers have a hamburger competition. The funniest part was Phil getting Jep to clean up the shed. When he told Jep why the papers were wet and smelled bad, I almost died laughing. I rewound it and watched it a second time and I laughed so hard I thought I might physically hurt myself. I haven’t laughed like that since I was in high school and watched Young Frankenstein. Anybody who thinks some writer comes up with this stuff is just crazy.

Enjoyed lunch with Ashley and Jesse.
Ash and I went church visiting. We are specifically working on lining up housing for teams to come and work with us. We visited FBC Mountain Park, Briarcliff Baptist Church, Briarcliff United Methodist Church, Briarlake Church and Dunwoody Baptist Church.
Seemed like they were all willing to think about housing folks, or expand how many they can handle hosting.
We’ll keep working on that project for sure.
Enjoyed helping the kids at the mission.
It was great to see our friend Abraham back to visit!
Not much homework, so I taught the kids how to play a new card game called SET.
It’s good because it takes logic skills and pattern recognition. Jesse clobbered us. No real surprise there. But some of our little kids did real well. We played it at the advanced level. We’ll try some easier ways too.
Kathy went to sleep early tonight.
I’ll be working this Friday and Saturday with a team from Argentina that’s in town. That should be fun.
