Recon! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:40 am

Sent a cassette tape to my friend Pat. We’ve been communicating via tapes for over 30 years. Hard to find tape decks now!
p

Met up with Ashley and Jesse at Azalea.
a
We had fun eating Brazilian food today.

Jesse has enjoyed showing us some magic tricks with cards. Cool!
m

On Thursdays, Ashley and I have been visiting partnering and local churches around the Metroplex. Today we focused on the Marietta area of NW Atlanta. Wonderful to have my kids working with me. My prodigious progeny!
a

We visited Eastside Baptist Church, First Baptist Marietta and Johnson Ferry Baptist Churches. Had some promising conversations.
c

Headed to the mission in the rain and terrible traffic. Ended up being about 45 minutes late. Helped the kids with their homework. There wasn’t too much.
r
a

I’m proud of my kids.
n

Jesse and I enjoyed supper together. I bought him a light for the DNA crystal I bought him. It’s accurate to the atomic level.
a

Enjoyed watching Perception with K. She fell asleep. I got home after 9pm again tonight.

Plenty of admin duties including two days of blogging to catch up on.

Blast from the past.
w
I agree with this.

Podcast! Run! Mt. Gilead!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:25 am

Wednesday I enjoyed recording a new podcast! Woot!
y
It’s an eye opening, listen carefully and FEEL good episode. Check out “See.Hear.FEEL!” One of my best efforts!
p
Went for a 5.20 mile run. Felt great! I enjoyed seeing the flowers.
f
d
d
t
c

Lots of trees are budding. Atlanta is an incredibly beautiful place in the spring!
b
b
b
b

Weird to see a trunk suddenly veer to the left.
t

Noticed this mushroom.
m,
I’ve been studying to see which one are edible. The bottom of this mushroom doesn’t have gills. Scientists call these ridges.
r

ALL of the toxic shrooms have gills. But there are still a series of questions to answer to make sure these are ok to eat. I can’t seem myself eating them, but I still find it interesting.

They are making some big changes on the topography around one of the streams near where I live.
g
s
c

I talked to the construction guys, they said it’s to help prevent flooding and that it’ll look like a series of small ponds. Interesting. I was just sad to see them cutting trees down. BUT I sure was glad it wasn’t a bunch of houses. I love our green space!

I saw this sign in a yard. Who would want to be #00?
0

After running, I ate a salad at McDonalds on the way to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. That’s about an hour and a half from where I live in Stone Mountain. On the way there I got terribly nauseated. Ended up pulling over a parking lot a barfing a bunch of times. Gross. I sure felt better.

I saw this sign on the way there.
s
I enjoyed speaking at Mt. Gilead.
c
They’re some sweet folks. I look forward to them coming to work with us!
s
f
I enjoyed hanging out with the preacher! Fred’s a good guy.
f

They have a graveyard.
d
I always find it interesting to look at who’s there.
t
a

For playing chess?
c

Weird. Gravesite/parking?
c
Who would name their kid “Arce?”
a
Talk about being the butt of the joke.

And this is the main thing the wife remembers her husband for?
f

Seemed like kind of an after thought.
g

This one was touching to me.
t

Got home after 10pm feeling pooped. Saved the blog until Thursday!

I always find signs interesting.

Cars! Family! Shopping! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:27 pm

Worked on my car registration stuff this morning. Got it all squared away.
c

Enjoyed lunch with the whole family!
l
a

K and I went to Forest Vale to sign the lease for the clubhouse they’re giving us.
c
Great news! Got all the liability insurance squared away for it too.

Came home to rest briefly then went to Walmart to get some mission supplies and groceries for the family.
g

Then on to the mission to work with the kids.
j

Not too much homework.
j

I took a couple of the boys for a nature hike. Showed them a sharp shinned hawk.

I took this picture using my little binoculars as a telephoto lens.
s

Also pointed out to them the unusual layering of the status clouds.
c

Always fun to hang out with the kids.
a

Then home to work on admin duties.

K and I enjoyed watching Castle and some episodes of the Middle.

I like watching Sugar run.
s

In case you forget.
w
Shalom!

Podcast! Bank! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:49 pm

Recorded a new podcast this morning! Woot!
d
I saw buried treasure this weekend worth over $10 Million. You have buried treasure inside of you just waiting to get out! It’s true! You are “Golden!”

c
Confirmed my speaking at Main Street Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas on March 16th. I’ll be bringing the missions sermon.
m

Went by the bank to check on an issue I was having with a credit card. Got it all squared away. Amen.
b
I liked this oil spot in the parking lot.
o

Sent a package to some friends of my in England. Also sent a gift to my Dad.

s
s

Read this today.
i
While I was waiting in line in the Post Office. I made this.
o

They added chips to the median.
c

I enjoyed working with the kids in the mission.
n
a
My friend Pamela did especially well today.
p

Working hard.
d

Came home. Enjoyed reading a book on finances.

K just got home. She went to the elementary school to see our neighbor kids sing. Groovy.

J! Stone Mountain!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:33 pm

K and I enjoyed a restful morning.

I spent time reading. I liked these quotes.
m
s
m

Cleaned the house. The vacuum started working. But not that well.
s
s

Spent time looking at birds with my new binoculars.
b
b

My old raptor blind is just about gone.
r

Met up with Jesse for lunch. Always good.
j

The set up included a straw. Never seen that before.
s

Kathy and I rested then went to Stone Mountain to ride our bikes.
t
I didn’t really like it. Crowded.
c

I thought this sign was odd.
s

It was beautiful there.
s

Helo transport.
h

Cable car.
c

Horse head.
h
Always reminds me of Kenya: the roundabout.
r

You can tell this tree was struck by lightning by the curving mark where the bark has been blown off.
l

Enjoyed watching the Oscars with Kathy this evening.

Admin duties now.

Beautiful sunset!

Coin Show!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:14 pm

Started out kind of cold weather this morning.
t

I had a fun time today at the National Money Show with Carl Barrington.
m
c
Lots of interesting things to see and learn about including a family in California that discovered rusty cans full of gold coins on their land while they were walking their dog!
c
d

One coin alone is worth more than a million dollars!
m
c

In fact they said there was over a billion dollars represented in the room.
d

I liked the US Department of Treasury display.
d
f
2

Ways they made the $100 note harder to forge.
f
s
d

Theodore Roosevelt is my favorite president. I like his coins.
r
t
t

I liked this colonial Georgia money.
s
s

Money was raised to fix up the lighthouse on Tybee Island: one of my favorite places!
t

Confederate money was from this area.
d

Never too many Gatlin Guns.
g
g
I watched them stamp coins.
c

This could have been one of the 30 pieces of silver given to Judas.
s

This much money was only traded between banks.
f

These were the two rarest, most expensive coins. Both were in the millions of dollars. One was only a nickle!
d
s

Enjoyed watching one of the printers make awards for veterans.
p

I liked this bison money.
b

This was from the colony of Massachusetts before it became part of the USA.
m

I didn’t spend much today. We got into the show for free. I bought a 1/2 Shekel from Israel. I liked the minora.
m
s
And a seal signet ring from the Franklin Mint in Philadelphia. I love anything Franklin. Only $5 for both.
f
f

There was a table of fossils. Way overpriced compared to the fossil show.
d

Filled up with gas on the way home.
d

Came home and watched the Middle with Kathy. She was pooped and kept falling asleep. I just sent her to bed.

Admin duties now.
