Tim A. Cummins @ 9:38 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I had fun briefing the team from Alabama on Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
s
s

s

Bubbleation!
s
Maybe a tad scary.
s
Of course the Magnificent Baby always makes everything that much better.
s

Fashion show.
s
On Safari to Global Mall.
s

Ate lunch at Ashiana.
s
Visited the Shiva Mandir.
s
s
s
Then to Al Madina. I thought this was interesting.
s

On to the missions.
s

s
s
s

After checking on the teams and shooting pictures/video, I came home and cut half of the back yard.
s

It was delightfully cool outside, but still a really hard job. Hard to push. Dense grass.
d

I had to throw away a bunch of heavy branches that had fallen during the recent big storms.

s

I mowed for about 1.5 hours. According to RunKeeper I pushed that lawn mower .85 miles. Felt like it.
The monkey grass continues to fill in under the trees. It’ll take years, but eventually it’ll be a lawn that can live in the low light conditions of a thick forest.
s
s

Watched ’71 with K. Pretty interesting movie about the IRA.

Admin duties now.

Who wouldn’t want that?

s

Took them to lunch at Penang for Malaysian food.
s
Ashley said, “I wonder where she gets it from.” Quiet, humble grandfather is my guess.
s
Then to the missions.
s
s
s
s
s

s

Ashley and I went to Walmart to pick up some supplies and get some different kinds of baby food.
s

Admin duties at home now.

Mountain View! BHFM!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:26 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I had fun briefing our team from Wetumpka, Alabama this morning!
s
Their town’s name come from the Cherokee words “place of rumbling water.” I thought that was interesting. I taught them some African songs.
s

We talked about being a missionary to refugees, how to round up kids and how to approach people at stores.
s
s

Then took them for lunch and on Safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market. Always something fun to see and EAT!

s

s
s
s

Penelope is such a blessing.
s
Everyone loves her. Who can help it?
s

It was good to see our friend Ricky Bowman today! He’s director of one our missions in Norcross.
s

Then to the missions at North Peachtree and Cumberland Court.

Ashley, Penelope and I went shopping for rugs and for a new handle for our door at the church that we can lock. I had some stuff go missing. Fortunately, it wasn’t very expensive. My guess is that I’ll eventually find it. Still, doesn’t hurt to put some security since I keep my microphones, PA system and Video Projector in that closet!

We decided to get the rug on line. We want to put a rug in front as part of our stage. I’m also getting some spot lights. I’m trying to light Ashley and me up without making it hard to see the screen.

Home now to work on admin duties.

Refilled my hummingbird feeders. I don’t see them very often, but the feeders keep getting emptied!
s
I refill them about once a week or ten days.

Jesse may need some help with his tent and setting up the Vive equipment.

A&P! Set up!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:05 pm

I had a restful morning.

Enjoyed lunch with Jesse and Ashley!
d
s
Got to watch Penelope for a few hours.
s

That’s always good.
s

She fell asleep on my chest. I don’t think there’s anything better than rocking a little baby on your chest.
s

She’s getting so muscular too. All the pulling up and crawling!

Jesse and I finished cleaning and painting our base stations for the HTC Vive VR headsets.
s
s

We use a Can Gun. It makes spray painting WAY easier.
s

Each of the poles will have a laser reader at the top.
s

I met up with A&P at FBC Doraville.

P did really well.

Takes us about an hour to set everything up. I remember when it used to be 1.5 hours.

Came home to watch Luther with K.

Admin duties now.

New team starts tomorrow!!

Rain! Strike Set! ACCCN! Podcast! Base Station!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:19 pm

Thursday and Friday it rained nearly 3″! Wow.
s

Went to the church to strike the set.
s
s

There’s a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday. I’ll have to go there Sunday afternoon to set everything back up. The good news is, every time I get better at it and faster.
s

Went to Azalea to check on our team from the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church.
s
s

They seemed to be doing just fine! I spent all my time with the team from Tennessee. The team from ACCCN have been doing this about 10 years now!

Got all the checks ready to deposit.
s

Recorded a new podcast!
s

I love this edition themed on effectiveness and getting things done calle, “Lists and Logistics.”

Just click on the title and Groove!

Uploaded to my server.
s

Link on Facebook.
s

Got the supplies for Jesse’s new tent. He wants to try sleeping outside more. Fresh air.
s
We can run a cord into the tent so he has power. Makes a world of difference if you have a fan blowing on you!

Started getting the supplies together for the base stations for the HTC Vive. J has two of them. Amazing.

Saturday, I went for a 5.01 mile run. Pretty hot.
s

Always beautiful things to see!

s

s

Danger! Poison Ivy!
s

These look tasty.
s

I thought the ferns growing on this tree were interesting.
s

Oh, yeah. Better keep doing this.
s

Gardenias are blooming.
s

Just about finished the drainage repair.
s

Ate lunch with Jesse and Kathy. Always good.
s

Came back and rested for a bit.

Then started cutting, drilling and setting the base of the base station in concrete.

We’ll attach the mounts to the pole with electrical tape.
s
We had to make sure it would support the weight of the laser box.
s
Of course the pole will be painted black.

I tried to teach Jesse some simple things to help your project do well. Sort all the material is one thing.
s
Drilling the hole into the end cap was the hardest part. Literally.
s
After the base pipe is cut and drilled, we put it into the plastic container and poured the concrete around it.
You have to agitate the concrete so that the air bubbles get out and it sets together.
s
s
Make sure the base is level and strap it into place with electrical tape.

We had to get an extra 50lb bag of Quick Set concrete. Didn’t quite have enough for the fourth pole.
s

Sunday, We’ll paint everything and wire them up! Yeah, baby!

They each weigh over 15 pounds so they should be super stable.

Gassed up the car.
s

BEST news is that “my” mama raccoon is back! SO great to see her again. I’ve started putting the food out in the evening rather than in the morning to give her first dibs.
s
s

Admin duties now.

Yes, please.
s

I like the changing costumes.
s

Solid sunshine.
s

Growl.

Rain! Editing! Copperhead!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:53 pm

Big thunderstorms tracked through our area last night and today. Had over 2.5″ or rain last night. Looks like it could be another inch today. Wow.
s
Edited the video for my team from 1st Pentecostal Huntingdon, TN this morning.
s

Uploaded to my server on YouTube.
s
Burned a DVD for the church’s archives.
s

Sent the package to the church.
s
Also sent an email to the leader with links to all four photo galleries and the video I put on YouTube.

Jesse brought our friend Clinton over to our house. I got a call in my room from him saying they were in our garage with a big snake! Ay caramba!

Immediately came up stairs to verify the species. Sadly, it was a copperhead so I had to kill it.
s
Don’t like doing that but it’s just the way it is.
s

Working on admin duties now. Thunder and lightning outside!

Loved the cirrus clouds this afternoon!

I’m memorizing the Shema in Hebrew. It is the central prayer of Judaism. It’s located in Deuteronomy 6.

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:26 pm

I briefed my team from Huntingdon, TN this morning! Sure was missing my girls!

I shared with them what it’s like to be a refugee, how to round up and deal with the kids at the mission and how to approach people on our safaris.

Went back to the church to set up for The Show in the morning. Today I just used a small meeting room next to my office. Tomorrow, I’ll roll out what the presentation is really designed to look like. Still, worked out fine. I used our projector and a smaller inflatable globe to give them a sense of what’s to come.

Admin duties now.
