This morning Kathy and I went to Westside BC.

I liked the moon in the shot.

Pastor Ben spoke from Romans. Essence of the Gospel!

Ate lunch with K then came home to rest.

Worked on updating some social media. My sermon notes distilled into tweets.

Started working on Greenville, SC this afternoon.

Went back to Westside BC this evening for our Thanksgiving Feast.

Pastor Ben gave a short message on being thankful.

Came home to watch Miss Fisher with K.

Admin duties now.

Then back to research.

Raccoon visited me last night.

This morning I watered all my plants. Takes a little longer since I brought the bigger ones inside.

Ordered new labels for Whirlwind Missions.

Worked on the Research List. Today I focused on finished up Myrtle Beach and started work on Louisville, KY.

Ate lunch with Jesse at Cafe Istanbul.

I’m looking forward to bringing teams here.

Enjoyed the Largest Dinosaur exhibit at Fernbank with Jesse.

Came home to spend time with K and work on Admin duties.

Spent most of my day making phone calls.

I went through my research for this week and called churches in Nashville, Durham and Charleston.

Working on Myrtle Beach now.

Had lunch with Jesse. Always good to hang out with him!

Calls after lunch. I contacted 46 different churches today.

Watched the Dana Carvey special and Miss Fisher’s Mysteries with Kathy.

Admin duties now.

I prepared the envelopes for the teams from Durham and Myrtle Beach.

Added the prayer card, spirit paper and flyer.


Had lunch with Ashley and Penelope. It was great to see her eating well again. Answer to prayer for sure. I made a salad and P grabbed one of the spinach leaves and jammed it in her mouth. She was chewing on it with her one tooth while eighty percent of it was hanging out her mouth. It was so funny.

Came home to do more research. Finished Myrtle Beach this afternoon.

Added about another 30 people to our email list.

Plus more data on the cities spread sheet.

It really struck me today how my focus for Whirlwind Missions has changed. Yesterday, when I was driving around Clarkston, I could see ten or twelve places where I had started work. My focus was on starting as many missions as possible. I was always trying to get churches to get involved. Super hard to do. Made me sort of sad and discouraged about the churches.

I don’t get that feeling with the Teams. They’re all here super enthusiastic, ready for life change. And we have ministry in over forty complexes. We are shooting for 100 complexes. With enough workers, we could evangelize huge numbers of people.

So it seems to me the Teams are really the focus of Whirlwind Missions now. And when I finally realized that, it makes it really easy to get fired up.

There was a time when I cared about having more missions in apartment complexes working with immigrants and refugees than any other ministry in America. We achieved that goal.

Now, I want Whirlwind Missions to be THE place to come for the best missions experience in the world. Our combination of presentation, Cultural Safaris, Power Prayer, and hands on mission work makes us second to none. I want to dominate this field, and see what can really happen with thousands of volunteers in a year.

This realization is kind of a big deal for me.

Came to Azalea early to work with Jesse. We got his insurance squared away for 20l7. Couldn’t believe the best deal was with BCBS. There are types of insurance that you can only get with an agent.

Got the letters in the mail. Total of 27 today.

Went to the mission to work with the kids. I’ll always have a group of kids I’m working with. First hand experiences are the best.

Ashley got stuck in traffic. I just sent her home.

I made the kids clean up the place. I time them and illustrate how little time it really takes to do. Always surprises them.

This morning I watched Penelope while Ashley did a shoot for the North American Mission Board. She liked the bean bag game.

We met at Refuge Coffee.

She showed them around Clarkston. They had Go Pro cameras in the car.

P and I had a snack at Halal Pizza. We had mandazi and a samosa. Pretty disappointed in both. Bahd luck.

We ate at Al Madina.

The girls are so beautiful.

I find the posters interesting.

Reminded me of my days in news. Except I did everything. No way we would have a three man crew!

Good times!

P slept for about an hour. She’s teething and hasn’t been eating that well.

Went home to rest.

Worked on stopping an auto payment for an insurance policy. We have to change it again because of all the new insurance changes.

Then met up with Ashley back in Clarkston to pick up our flyers from the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association office then work with the kids at the mission.

Ate with K this evening.

Dropped off the letters on the way to eat with AP.

Went to lunch with Ashley and Penelope at El Torero. Always good. She eats their chicken really well. After lunch, we went to Walmart to pick up more diapers for the baby. She likes riding in the cart.

Changed the 9V batteries out in the fire detectors.

I came home to rest and work on the Research List. Today, I worked on Durham, NC.

I also make a separate email list to every city.

I also decided to expand the range of my search to around 400 miles. That’s really still not all that far a drive.

Went to the mission to work with the kids.

Missed having Penelope there. Sniff.

Came to watch Miss Fisher with K.

I have seven water bottles that I use during the week. Refilled them.

One of my tires was a bit low. A warning light comes on in my car. It’s hard to tell which one.

Cleaned the stairs.

Brought my plants inside.

Added quotes to my Twitter media feed. I uploaded nearly three weeks worth.

Had lunch with Ashley, Penelope and Kathy.

Went to Clarkston to get Ashley. I’ve decided I prefer to ride into town with Ashley. So I meet her near her house. I park at the Clarkston International Bible Church parking lot. There’s not a good place to park at her house.

Worked with the kids at the mission.

Had one of the Bengali moms drop her son off for some help. She was wearing a full hijab where only her eyes were showing. It occurred to me that I have no idea at all what she looks like.

Ate a sub with Ashley and took a couple to Jesse.

K and I watched an episode of Miss Fisher’s mysteries. We like that show.

Went to eat with Jesse and Kathy.

Stopped by Office Depot to pick up some silver Sharpies.

Dropped the letters in the mail on the way home.

Came home to work on calls. Contacted 32 different churches.

Every number I call, I make a contact. Then I have a heads up if they call me.

Went to see Dr. Strange with Kathy. I think I liked it more the second time. Wow.

She didn’t like it much. Too long for her.

This morning I spent time on the Research List.

Addressed letters.

Labels.

Stuffed the letters with a Chinese paper, and a prayer card. Today I picked up the flyers and more stamps so I have everything I need.

More good news! Ashley figured out how to make a custom email address for TeamWhirlwind.com. When we send these emails to lists, many spam filters cull everything from gmail. Same goes for Yahoo. So it’s a really important piece of the puzzle. I call this “beating technology into submission.”

Ashley, Penelope and I went to Walmart to get groceries.

We bought P some new shoes.

She liked pushing the cart.

Put groceries up.

Watched P for a few hours to give Ash a chance to get this stuff done. She liked playing in my lake of leaves.

Came to Clarkston and P and I joined her to go to Azalea.

Enjoyed walking around the complex with P.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Came home to watch “A Very Secret Service” with K. It’s in French. Like that, too.
