Housework! Mission! 9.24.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:26 pm

Studied Spanish, and you guessed it, Swahili this morning!

Cleaned the house.
Vacuumed the living areas.

Scrubbed both bathtubs.

Swiffer mopped the kitchen area and both bathrooms.

I go the extra mile and dry the floor with a towel afterwards. I really banged my knee up one time slipping on the floor.

I worked hard and fast.

Then I cleaned and blew off the back deck. Watered the plants.

Blew the garage and driveway area.

Added material for my Twitter feed. My version of sermon notes.

My internet conked out so went for lunch then got the groceries. I saw this Jurassic Park truck outside Walmart.

Groceries.

Say what?

Went to FBC Doraville to pick up the mail.

We are learning the names of the new Bengali kids. I’m also making another crack at Bangla.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Love my girls!

Westside! Bike! Plants! 9.23.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:41 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

Went to Westside this morning.

Pastor Ben spoke on the importance of obedience.

This is one of my favorite passages. In fact, it’s been the scripture I’ve memorized the most recently. Thinking about trying it in Hebrew. I’m a little afraid I’ll confuse it with some other Hebrew that I’ve memorized.

It’s a great web site and has helped me learn other passages in Hebrew.

Came home to rest.

Then went for a 20.89 mile bike ride.

I’ve been riding pretty consistently, although I had some misses due to watching Penelope.

While on my ride, I saw this bird in the middle of the road. I picked it up and put it on the pine straw. Not sure if it was dazed or what.

I just got this email from Runkeeper.

I do this!

Watered my indoor garden.

Penelope! Bike! ISS!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:46 pm

Penelope spent the night with us last night. She’s always a blessing.

This morning, I took her over to Donald’s to get breakfast. Kathy was having a meeting with her brother and sisters about inheritance matters.

Miles came over around 10:00am to pick her up. Sad to see her leave! But GREAT to have Daddy/Daughter time!

He won tickets to the Braves game from a radio station!

I slept ok last night and wasn’t able to take a nap so went for a bike ride instead.
Yellow River looking pretty clean!

I rode some new sidewalks. I thought these little yellow flowers were lovely.

I rode 24.34 miles in 2:47 hours.

Studied Spanish.

Cleaned and refilled my bird feeders.

We hadn’t had any rain this week, so I also watered my plants.

38th viewing of the International Space Station this evening! It’s traveling at 17,500 mph!

Nice shot of the moon!

I’m missing Penelope.

Penelope! ZOO! 9.21.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:32 pm

We slept pretty well last night and got ready for the zoo in the morning!

Gassed up my car and checked the oil.

We’ve been members of the zoo off and on for years. Got our family membership reinstated.

Had fun seeing the elephants reaching for goodies.

Lions taking a siesta.

Furious growl!

Checking out Willie B!

Reptile house was cool!

I loved the Pitcher Plants out front.

I used to work with a lot of these cobras in Kenya, including this one the King Cobra!

Gorillas were my favorite this visit.

Pandas are always fun.

Good time with the goats.

I think the girls liked the Splash Zone the best!

Good times at the playground, too!

Her new Paw Patrol toy came in today. Go Rocky!

Studied Spanish. I’ll get back to Swahili tomorrow! Priority with Penelope!

El Torrero with Jesse and the girls!

Never too much, Penelope!

Penelope! Spanish! Mission! ISS!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:40 pm

Enjoyed having Penelope with us today! K and I took her to McDonalds for breakfast. I dropped K off to go to work, then we went to Goodwill and the Dollar Tree for fun.

She sees me taking pictures all the time. She enjoyed getting this little toy camera. It makes cool sounds.

Dollar Tree had all their scary stuff out now.

I studied Spanish while Penelope took a nap.

Didn’t have time to work on Swahili.
Worked with the kids at the mission.

37th spotting of the International Space Station!

Most expensive single object man has ever built. Over $150 Billion!

Podcast! Penelope! Mission! 9.19.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:12 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “MEmicking.” Accelerate great by copying your heroes and your best and happiest self.

Ashley is in Savannah getting accredited for horse training, so I get to watch Penelope for a few days. What a blessing! We ate then went to the park at Stone Mountain. It’s the only park that has enough shade to keep you cool.

She was very brave and tried several things she hasn’t done before.

We went straight from the park to the mission to help the kids. I have a three families that I’m teaching English to right now. As well as the kids who need homework help. It was pretty wild!

Afterwards, I took Penelope to Cicis. She liked it.

After we ate, we went back to the mission to see Miles. I know he misses his girls SO much! Penelope gave him lots of love and kisses and danced around the room for him. She didn’t make it ten minutes towards our house till we she was completely out. She didn’t get her nap today. Neither did I!
She’s sleeping soundly. I’ll give her a bath tomorrow morning. Just didn’t have the heart to wake her up.

Studied Swahili and Spanish.

Went for a 13.34 mile bike ride.

Deposited checks to the bank.

Picked up mail from the church.

I enjoy watching Penelope with her friends! She’ll be spending the next couple of nights with us. What a blessing.

House full of people to help. I spend about as much time teaching English every day as I do with homework.

Ashley had 13 ladies at her ESL class this morning! Wow!

After helping the families, I went to Walmart to pick up some supplies. Elevators are out of commission a lot.

What the?

Went to a community meeting this evening. We are upset about a possible rezoning of our area to allow higher density town homes. Definitely will impact our quality of life and our property values.

This building was packed. At least 150 people there.

I just went up to the very front and sat on the floor.

Snake! Bike! Mission! Yard! 9.17.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:22 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning.

Killed about a foot long copperhead on my driveway this morning. Completely freaked Kathy out.

I put it out by my feeders for the opossums to eat this evening.
Another about 2 foot long copperhead by the entrance to our subdivision.

Went for a 14.04 mile bike ride this morning.

My favorite stop along the way at the Yellow River.

Penelope wanted to ride this pink motorcycle today.

Helped the kids at the mission. Yair wanted to learn French. I taught him some words and showed him how to use DuoLingo.

Great fun with the kids!

Never too much Penelope!

We will have her for two nights this week as Ashley goes to Savannah for some horse training!
After the snake scare, I mowed the yard this evening.

Blowing is always the last job.

Pretty much dark by the time I got finished.

Had a fun conversation with Jesse this evening.

Girls! 9.15.18 Bike! Terminator!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:51 pm

The girls woke up around 7:00 am the morning. Got them changed and fed them breakfast. We went back to the Doggie Park this morning. We should have gone to the Stone Mountain park. The lack of shade made the Doggie Park pretty hot.
We had doughnuts under the gazebo.

We pretty much do whatever Penelope wants.

She’s such an angel child! They BOTH are awesome!
When we got home, I turned our little sprinkler on low on the deck. They had a big time with the water. Then got them in bed for a nap.

They crashed for almost exactly two hours. Then Miles came to pick them up. They were missed!

I studied Spanish and Swahili while they slept. Even though I only slept a few hours last night, couldn’t take a nap. Weird.

I’m still working on past tense.

Passed another big grammar milestone in Swahili. It’s a really hard language to speak well.

Since I couldn’t fall asleep, I went for a 17.95 mile bike ride.

Went to see the new Terminator movie tonight. I liked it. Interesting twist for heroes.

Did some research on where I’ll take Kathy’s iPhone to have the battery repaired.

Everly’s diaper came off and she peed in the bed. I got it all cleaned up and had a good reason to clean all my bedding and pillowcases. I’m pretty bad about doing that regularly.

We have a big hornet’s nest in our yard. Did some research on it. Apparently, they all die during the winter except for the queen. They make a new nest every year, so it doesn’t pose a danger. I’d like to get it done someone, It’s really interesting looking.
Catching up on my admin duties now.
