Penelope! Art! Avengers! Lawnmower!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:21 pm

Penelope woke up around 8am. She’s always so happy and told me “I wuv you, Pop Pop” many times. She really is so special to me.

We had fun painting.

And riding her little truck down our driveway.

Ashley and Miles came and got her around 11am.

Soon after, I went to see the Avangers–Infinity War. A terrific Marvel movie. One of the best. I hate not talking about it!

Loved the Guardians in the Galaxy cast in this movie the best. There was some really funny writing in this show.

Rested when I got home.
Studied Spanish and Swahili.

Then worked on building my new lawnmower. I wore the last one out last week.
I put my cart together last week. Man, have I enjoyed it and used it a LOT!

It’s just so handy to be able to wheel stuff around.
First job is to lay out all the parts. I set up a table. I knew that was going to be very helpful. It was! Although I dropped an amplifier on my toe while trying to get the table out. Ouchiwawa!

I’ve been impressed by the clarity of the instructions. Although the Gorilla Cart was way better.

Put on the deflector.

Lower handle next.

Captured and released squirrel #26.

Then back to putting the lawnmower together. Wheels next.

Dead man’s switch.

Oil.

My two new tools together.

Took about an hour and a half to get it done.
Paid bills.
Caught up on Admin Duties.
Haven’t worked on my book in a couple of days. Hate that. I’ll get back to it this week!
Got the supplies I need together for the conference at FBC Atlanta early tomorrow morning. I’ll still drop by the FBC Doraville on the way to get my Chinese shirt. Forgot that when I got the stuff. It’s on the way, so no big deal.

Live! Penelope! Fernbank! Parks!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:55 pm

Reading Enlightenment now.

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

Went LIVE on Facebook.

Released Verbal Surgery -552- “Smig Job!”

It’s all about the adjectives you use! It’s a cross between SMall and bIG.

Ashley brought Penelope over about noon. We went out to eat at Zyka and then had ice cream.

I took her to Fernbank to see the dinosaurs.

I love to feed her curiosity. The top floor of Fernbank is especially for kids. It’s awesome!

After studying science, I took her to three different parks. Good times!

I was shocked that she could climb this. It’s for 5 year olds.

We went to the Dollar Tree to get some painting supplies and digging tools. Ate at Wendys. She liked to analyze what she got.

We went to sleep around 10:30pm. I slept really poorly. Kind of stopped up. Sucky. Penelope slept well, except for once during the night when she wanted something to drink.
No admin duties possible.

Sw/Sp! DMV! Labels!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:37 pm

Rained nearly .5″.

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning. Got up before six.

My goal was to be at the Department of Motor Vehicles around 8am. I filled out all the forms for my new license on line. But because it is a secure ID, I had to come there in person with documents such as a passport and W2 and proof of residency. Got in and out in under thirty minutes. Literally, logged in and my number was called. I love it when a plan comes together!

Surprisingly to me, they didn’t ask me to do an eye test.
Super fast. Altogether and A+ experience.

After getting my new license squared away, I went to the park and recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery.

I cleaned out the back of my car.

Worked on the driver’s side visor. It works a little better now.

Talked with One Heart Church about working at Bradford Gwinnett apartments.
Printed the labels for the newsletters. Went to the Post Office to get stamps.
Went by our office at FBC Doraville to pick up some things for our display at First Baptist Atlanta.

I wrote and produced my newsletter.

Went to Walmart to pick up more small envelopes.

I took the swing down in the back of the mission and put it back up in front of the apartment where Ashley lives with her family. Both the girls love the swing!

Ashley and I got all the envelopes labeled. She’ll get her newsletter in tomorrow while I’m watching Penelope. She’ll spend Friday night with me.

I took the trash and recycle to the street. More than normal. I’m still trying to get them to take all the stuff from my Spring Clean.

Cleaned off one of my tarps and then covered the remaining junk with it.

Cleaned and refilled my birdbaths.

Fantastic clouds this morning.

Book! Park! Birthday!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:55 pm

Last night, I worked on editing my book and re-uploaded it. Some pictures were being inserted, that I think were actually in the document, but off the side of the paper in Microsoft Word. Weird.

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

It was Kathy’s birthday today! Ashley brought the girls over and K’s brother David took us out to eat. I took Penelope over to the lake where I record. I thought she’d like to see the geese.

They had a little park there for her to play on.

Great to see David!

I noticed that the front tire on Ashley’s car looked low. The gauge said it was about 20 lbs low. Aired up it with my little compressor.

HIGHLY recommend that you invest in one of these. Less than $20. Save you from having to change a tire. Pretty much always works unless you have a blowout.
Took her car over to my tire guy in Chamblee. They got three tires on, mounted, balanced, installed and three tires disposed of for right at $300. I thought that was a great deal.

Tires looked very good.

It was great to see Kathy have a fun birthday.

I thought she really looked great this evening.

Admin duties now.
I plan on getting up and going to the DMV tomorrow morning. Time to get my license renewed. Turning 60. My picture is 20 years old. Dude. I have hair.

Book! Spanish! Perimeter! Swing!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:17 pm

Worked on my book last night. Uploaded the first version. I say “first” because I’m not sure what adjustments I may still have to make. That’s a tonight job to figure out.

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -551- “Fake Stakes.”

What makes us get into action? Are the stakes high enough? Then click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to server.

Link on Facebook.

Recorded the Facebook LIVE version of “Fake Stakes.”

Deposited checks into the Whirlwind account.

I have over $5,000 of checks to me from Whirlwind to reimburse me for expenses or for gas mileage. Our ministry is doing better now financially. I talked to Ashley about me cashing some checks to pay off credit card bills. We want to make sure we do it slowly enough so that we don’t get into a financial bind.

We met up with friends of ours from Perimeter to discuss the Summer Rush programs.

I took the girls out to eat frozen yogurt.

I got Penelope a swing yesterday. I hung it up on the front of her house.

Today, I redid the ropes so that it doesn’t spin.
Then I hung another rope to a big tree in their back yard.

This swing is wild! It can go way up and also spins. It’s like a 6 flags ride. Of course Penelope loves it.

The girls in the neighborhood love to play with Penelope. Me, too!

Helped the kids with their homework.

I love this little bundle of sweetness!

I look forward to Fridays when I get ’em all to myself.

Admin duties now. Then work on the book.

Research! Podcast! Shopping! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:11 pm

Worked on figuring out how to convert my DOC files into MOBI files to upload to the KDP Kindle site. This might be one solution.

I liked these quotes from William Blake that I read last night.

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning.

I’m especially proud of my progress in Swahili since it’s been so long since I’ve studied it.

Recorded a new podcast this morning. I love to hear myself talk!

Got groceries.

Continue to read Enlightenment Now.

Got my new lawnmower in.

We just had over 2″ of rain. I’ll have to wait a few days before I put it together and put it to work. Soggy!

I bought Penelope a scooter.

And a new swing. Even now as I’m typing this, I’m thinking about a better way to hang it from the railing above.

She likes it because it spins. I think I’m going to change it to a more traditional motion.
I’m wearing my Dad’s Mercedez hat today. I try and keep the fedora out of the rain whenever I can.

Spent about an hour working on Driver’s License stuff. Filled out a form on line to speed the process up. I’ll shoot for going over there on Thursday.

I’ll spend some time working on the MOBI file tonight.
Admin duties now.

Rock Bridge! Book!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:43 pm

Studied Swahili and Spanish this morning.

Kathy and I went to Rock Bridge Baptist Church this morning!

It was their ninth anniversary and the dedication of the sanctuary remodel! Looks great!

They burned the mortage note!
Great team!
Watered my indoor garden.

Enjoying Enlightenment Now.

Did research to help Kathy with her CPAP machine. We’re trying to schedule an appointment to give her machine a check up.

Also found a dentist for Jesse. We changed insurance from last year. I didn’t get dental insurance, which turned out to be a big mistake.

This lady got super high reviews and is close to our house.
Added material to my Twitter feed. I release five quotes a day. I have stuff scheduled until the middle of June.

Worked on the cover for my book. It’s simple but does the job.
Admin duties now.

LIVE! Girls! Cleaning!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:53 pm

Friday I went LIVE on Facebook.

I talked about the episode of Verbal Surgery -550- “Fake Snake!”

Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to server.

Link on Facebook.

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

Ashley dropped the girls off for a few hours on Friday. She enjoys getting some time off. It’s a hard job raising children!

Every time I keep Everly she gets better. She still misses her mama!

They liked looking at themselves in the chrome.

Then I kept Penelope overnight. Always a blessing! We hung out at the park for a couple of hours.

Her hair was charged up!

She’s so much fun!

And fearless. Doing stuff designed for five year olds.

I wore her out.

She woke up about 2:30am with a bad dream. We stayed awake for a couple of hours till she was ok again. She’s such an angel.
We took Kathy to Golden Corral for a birthday breakfast. Glad we could do that.
Miles came and got her around noon. She’s missed!
Rested. Then started work.
I adjusted the downspout for the back of my house. Jesse got me an extension for it.

My lawnmower finally gave up the ghost. She got some string are yarn up inside her and even though I got it out, something happened to the engine.

I have a collection of them. Used to be under my deck. I want to get them out of here.

As I realized last week, I’m basically mowing a forest. Over the years they yard continues to get better, but it’s still hard. I got about 3.5 years out of this one.
It’s cool to be able to track it.
>
I found several sprigs of poison ivy. The fight continues! So silly to think that I had won!

Since the mower went dead, I focused on the inside of the house. Vacuumed.

Blew the deck and driveway.

Swept the kitchen.

Swiffered the floor. SO much better than a mop!

I always follow up with a towel dry. Very dangerous when it’s wet!

Cleaned both bathrooms.

Swept and swiffered the whole downstairs, too.

Swept my outside rug. Less there, the less tracked inside.

Cleaned and filled the three bird baths I have.

Cleaned my stairs.
Did the whole house and part of the outside in less than two hours. Hustle counts.

Took a shower.
Worked on Spanish and Swahili since I was with Penelope this morning.

Admin duties now. Pretty tired.

Podcast! Dentist!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:21 pm

Studied Swahili and Spanish.

Jesse brought home a drainage hose I needed to replace for the house. I’ll install that soon.
Recorded a new podcast! Whenever I’m under stress, I seem to do a lot more recording. Financial issues related to the dentist I reckon.

Captured and released squirrel #24.

Honestly, I can’t tell any fewer in the neighborhood. But I do know that I got the ones that were in my house. We haven’t heard any gnawing in weeks.

Spent a little time at Stone Mountain before I went to the dentist to chill out. It’s so beautiful over there.
It’s a strict place.

Department of Redundancy Department.

I couldn’t figure out why a squirrel would want to chew on the towel container.

Went to my dentist.

Put the new incisor crown in.

It really is an amazing science. And blindingly expensive.

Interesting molds and casts.

I studied Spanish between treatments.

After gluing in the new incisor crown, he sawed off an old crown that had decay under it, drilled out the decay, built and platform for a new crown and put a temporary crown in. HOPEFULLY, that crown will be ok for a month, then we can get the permanent put in. If that temporary crown has problems, then that indicates that there’s not enough tooth left to work with and the tooth has to be extracted and replaced with a bridge or implant. Talking about $4,000! Yow! So pray that this crown will work.

Came home to get the garbage and recyle out. I’ve got some extra containers I’m using. Hopefully, they’ll get it all. Not TOO much out there.

This is the recycle.

I still have this to piecemeal out over the coming weeks.

Just getting that stuff to the street takes time!

Admin duties now.

Swahili! Podcast! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:19 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili.

I thought the sharp edges on these clouds were interesting.

Enjoyed lunch with Jesse. Always fascinating conversation.

Caught and released two squirrels today, one this morning and one later this afternoon.

Reading Enlightenment Now.

The cardinal likes his new perch.

Love the flowers on this new begonia. Talk about floribunda!

Dropped off some new costumes for the show at the church and picked up mail.

Went to the mission to check on the kids. We helped a couple. Mainly just hang out and talk to them.

We went on Safari around the complex.

I take Penelope on an adventure every time I’m there.

During the Spring Clean, I found my portable DVD player. I bought several of her favorite DVDs from Amazon including Super Wings (her favorite), Doc McStuffins, Paw Patrol and Dinotrux. I think the writing on these shows is really quite good. I also had to buy a current inverter so I could plug it in through a device attached to the car’s lighter. I got everything hooked up and gave it a test. Penelope loved it. I’m so happy about it. She was watching shows on her iPad (paddy) but it was killing us on data usage. This will be way better and her favorite shows!

I think the sound and picture are both really good too. The only challenge is those DVDs are so fragile. That’ll have to be a Mama change thing.

I came down the road this evening to release the second squirrel I caught today (#23). This big wisteria vine hit my windshield with tremendous force. I turned around and did my best to get it out of the roadway. I need my saw to really take care of the problem. I thought I was going to be able to just pull it down. It actually supported my weight! Tarzan!

Came home and blew the garage out. K always appreciates that. Now that I think about it, I probably should have done the back as well.

Admin duties now.
I’ll write my book’s description this evening. Last night I set up my account with the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) site.
