Duolingo continues to improve. They now have a specific “path” that students need to follow. I pretty much went through every lesson and did all five levels before going to a new unit, so not too much different for me.

The new Wyze Back Yard camera looked good last night, although I needed to trim some bushes, which I did this morning.

This morning, I set up the second camera to show the driveway and front yard.

It’s Supa coo that I can see the two camera’s view with my phone!

I ordered micro SD cards to install into the cameras so they can record.

One year ago today the PT Cruiser went bye bye. That means I’ve been driving the Mercury for over a year now.

Got a call from a disability lawyer this morning. Hopefully, he’ll be able to help Jessi.

Contacted another organization that helps with mental disabilities.

Had a good talk with my Mom.

Listened to radio from Madrid. It’s a change from Harry Potter. Lots of different people speaking super fast. It’s a good challenge.

Went to my office to check the mail and my ficus tree.

Got a call from a lady from one of our sponsoring churches.

Dumped the trash at the apartment. It was so heavy that the bag kept ripping. Took the whole trash can to the dumpster so I wouldn’t spread trash everywhere.

Repaired the back tube of Everly’s bike.

Worked on the bike inside the apartment with a fan blowing on me. Too hot outside.

Helped the kids at the mission. Lots of them.

LOVED the girls having their bangs pulled back! Amen.

They worked on Pre-K and 1st grade workbooks that I bought them.

Warm today.

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders. I see two regularly.

Cleaned my shoes.

Wrote my newsletter and printed out a b/w version to photocopy.

Been doing research of cameras that can be accessed via wifi from my phone. Wyze was really highly rated and a great deal for $37. I bought a pair: one for the front yard and driveway and one side of the house where my downstairs door is.

I’m still looking to get a PS5 eventually. If they ever become available!

Got all the newsletter stuff together to take to Chamblee.

I ate lunch at Taco Veloz. Worked on labeling the envelopes while I was there.

Post office for stamps.

Finished labeling and putting in the donation envelope.

Picked the girls up at the bus. We went to McD for supper.

Got the envelopes stuffed and took them to the Post Office.

Helped the kids at the mission. Big group, but only a few are cool with getting their picture taken.

Ashley started a new job today! She’s in the same optical business, but a different company that is WAY closer to her house. So far she’s really enjoying it.

Ordered a new external battery. My old one shorted out.

Rode my bike 10.15 miles. Good ride. Feel stronger every day. Today I went up one of the hardest hills: Parkview. Even that didn’t seem all that hard.

Watered my indoor plants.

I moved my biggest nepenthes plant to my lower grow area. I think it will be much happier there.

I watched a cool documentary about the Yanamami tribe in Brazil. The Last Forest.

Jessi and I enjoy creating a jungle on our deck.

Warmer day.

Rode my bike 9.09 miles. It was pretty hot on the bike in the full sun. Very humid.

Uploaded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “The Map and the Journey 2.” So good!

I studied how to better use my iPhone. I liked all the pictures from 2022 in one shot.

The Photos app can also sort things via the map. Cool.

I bought a wi-fi extender to try and get a better range from the apartment to the kids outside.

Had a fun chat with my buddy Anthony. So funny.

Cool today.

This was my first Friday off in over two years. Miles is starting to come home early on Fridays to pick up the girls. I’ll be starting on Monday-Thursday next week. Better for the kids at the mission. Spent most of the afternoon watching shows and resting.

I think this is a very helpful idea.

Had a bunch of kids at our after school program. Gets kind of wild. Lots of boys and girls chasing each other. To be expected I reckon.

I took a timed test on Duolingo. I did sixteen exercises in the fifteen minutes allotted. That equals 640 points!

Took Jessi to the ENT doctor this morning. Turned out that she has a deviated septum which is what makes it difficult for her to breath. Next stop will be a scan of the area to see just how bad it is and then perhaps surgery to correct the problem.

Had a good chat with my buddy Anthony in England while I was waiting for the doctor to work with J.

Listened to Radio Garden’s broadcast of Cadena Ser in Spanish from Madrid.

Mild today. Some sprinkles at the mission.

Everly has a flat on her bike. My bike guy told me that the tire is pretty worn out which means the tubes go flat pretty quickly. Hard to fix the back one, can’t say I’m looking forward to that. Ordered a new tube from Amazon.

Got gas from the BP station on my way home. Cheapest I’ve seen! Checked levels.

Got a call from my banker. She thinks that the auto debit is set up properly this month. We’ll see. . .

Spent about an hour working on an issue with my credit card and a charge that was made when I was reserving a room in Tennessee. Eventually, just wrote everything out in a letter with documentation and sent it to them.

Contacted our waste disposal folks to get the old TV.

Went by the office to check the mail.

Kathy came with me today. We picked up the girls at the bus stop and enjoyed time with them today. Penelope won “Tiger of the Month!”

Everly and I figured out how many days until she turns five! Thirty four!

Great to see two brothers today! One showed me his new wife from Bangladesh, the other his little girl that’s almost two! Incredible how time flies.

Always good to spend some time with Ashley!
