Heard back from Mike today. Sorry he won’t be able to come to Baylor to see us!

Jessi tried to use my Mac Air for his Tele-Doc session. Didn’t work correctly. He finally got my iPhone to make the connection. I think Dr. Ravi had some solid ideas about what J should do to help his sleep get better. J had some resistance to what he said because she’s been so dependent on meds for going to sleep and waking up.
I did one of my lowest scores ever in Spanish today. Wasn’t able to use my iPhone when I needed to, and this evening I didn’t get the extra credit I’m used to. So it goes. Being available for Jessi was way more important to me.

Tried to call my Mom but we weren’t able to connect. She was at her eye doctor.
Don Cheto!
Picked up the grandgirls and took them to Waffle House and Taco Veloz.
We tried a Champurrado today. It was a cinnamon flavored hot chocolate concoction. Girls really liked it. Little too sweet for me.
I explained the word “roaming” to the girls today. In particular how cell phone towers work and how the signal strength is somewhat like using a flashlight. I mentioned how roaming with your phone could cost you a fortune when you try to use your phone overseas and how careful I had to be in Guatemala to focus on just using wi-fi.
I worked on the Thank You card project. The kids helped me decorate envelopes.
Cleaned the mission.
Went to my office to pick up checks and process them. Then to the bank to deposit them. Thank you, Father. I really appreciate it.
Didn’t get home till after 8PM.
Hard day at the mission. Sometimes I get so wound up when I feel some of the older guys are not respecting me when I ask for help. I do so much for them and they can just blow me off. I don’t handle that well. I asked the kids I was working with if I had been right to get mad at them. They thought I had been. That made me feel a bit better.
One of the kids was running in the kitchen and conked his head on a table. Got a little cut on his scalp. Hardly anything, but if you know anything about wounds like that they bleed a lot. I was completely calm and stopped the bleeding, got him cleaned up and told him to go home and wash his hair to get the little cut clean. Boys will be boys. That’s why one of my rules is “No running in the Mission.” They don’t always follow those guidelines.
Oh, well.

I thought Kamala did a great job against Trump last night.
I was glad that Taylor Swift is endorsing Harris. I was shocked at Elon’s tacky comment.
I was glad to see that my Mac Air can run Apple Intelligence, although I’m not exactly sure what I would use it for.

Washed my bed linens.

Ordered groceries.
As I get closer to headed to Texas to see my family and go to Baylor for ComeHoming, I’ve been contacting NoZe Brother friends of mine. Today I got in touch with Bill, Mike and Don.
K came with me to be with the grandgirls. Always a blessing.
A neighbor had their “recycle” bin filled with obviously non-recyclable stuff. I got tired of looking at their bin at the street for a month now. Took all that stuff and put it in my garbage can to get rid of.
Clipped the dead blossoms off my rose bushes.
Picked up tree limbs. There were a lot after the storms we’ve had recently. Yard looks tidy now.
Blew my deck and cleaned off my plants.
Sounds kind of ridiculous, but I cleaned and painted my work shoes.
Recorded and released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Propellant.”

I thought about my time in Nakuru, Kenya last night. It was cool to see that a couple of my favorite places are still there from forty years ago!
Got in touch with my buddy David from Baylor today. Checked on whether he can come to Homecoming this year. He has a grandbaby on the way! So definitely a no go.
Never been to this place. Looks intriguing.

We had a lady parked in front of my house this morning. We have an aggressive neighborhood watch program. I scared her off.
Did laundry.
K and I went out to eat. I picked up some meds for J.
K and I got our flu shots. Last Christmas I got pretty sick, in spite of the shot. Worst Christmas ever.
I should come in second place this week.

Called my buddy Jon Paul about a couple of issues.
Freshened up my shoes with a coat of paint. I haven’t worn my new shoes much. I’m still using second string shoes.
I’m working on the Thank You note project again. Went to the Post Office to get stamps. I already have the cards, envelopes and labels.
Went to the Dollar Tree and Walmart to pick up construction paper and white poster board for the kids at the Mission.
When I was getting out of my car this afternoon, my seat belt buckle hit my iPhone screen and cracked the protector. When I got home, I cleaned the phone up and put a new protector on it.
Brought home Thai food for the family.
While I was waiting for the food, I saw a juvenile Sharp Shinned Hawk.
Enjoying playing Forbidden West.
Keep going.
