Newsletter! Stamps! Azalea! 1.29.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:21 pm

OYB

Took a couple of hygiene things to UPS to send back to Amazon.

Came in third place last week.

Duolingo had a maintenance break. Listened to Don Cheto instead. Measured how long it takes me to walk up and down my hill one time.

Walked 1.31 miles.

Cool, beautiful weather.

Good chat with my Mom.

Let our church secretary know my letters were ready to print.

Went to Publix to drop off a prescription. She told me it was too soon to do it. I don’t think she read the prescription correctly.

Post Office for stamps. Sadly, the machine could only print the single stamps that are way harder to use.

Picked up the grandgirls and helped the kids at the mission.

Went to my office to check the mail, pick up the newsletters, stamp and stuff them.

Also wrote some thank you notes.

Español! Walk! Newsletters! Podcast! 1.28.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:51 pm

OYB!

Cold!

Español!

Walked 1.08 miles.

Released Verbal Surgery “Every HIll’s A Victory.” TASTY!

Produced my newsletter.

I have the newsletter written, produced, labels on the envelope, return envelope and the tax letters for our donors complete. I still need to get stamps. I’ll take the newsletter to get copied tomorrow afternoon. I should be able to have them in the mail tomorrow. Amen.

Went to the US Post, but the stamp machine wasn’t working. At least according to the note.

Listened to Don Cheto. Sometimes I’m really getting a lot. My ear seems like it’s picking out words better. I’m thinking now that that might be thanks to using my ear buds rather than listening through car speakers.

I’ll come in the top three again this week.

Taxes! Español! Warm! 1.26.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:55 pm

It certainly was foggy here!

OYB!

Español!

I went to Young World with Kathy to set up her payroll account on line and change her deductions so they take more taxes out of paycheck. That becomes kind of like a savings account for us.

Deposited a check.

Set up a lunch meeting with my buddy Jon Paul next Wednesday. We had some tax stuff to talk about as well.

So WARM!

I’m always learning vocabulary.

Added transmission fluid. Just 1 oz.

Put on shorts. WHAT?!

Left a VM for a representative of the North American Mission Board.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Every Hill’s A Victory.” Good one.

I don’t see me getting beat out of the top three this week. Once you get over 4,000 ahead, I’m almost impossible to beat. Cuz I don’t stop.

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:06 pm

Every once in a while I have to deal with things related to one of my websites.

Big storms this evening.

Dealt with some business with Apple Podcasts.

Picked up groceries. I take my recycle bags with me and give them back their Walmart bags.

Don’t stop.

Walk! Español! Azalea! 1.23.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:57 pm

OYB!

Milder today.

Español!

Walked 3.21 miles.

I saw Kathy’s W2 from work today and they took out nearly nothing from her paycheck all last year for her federal taxes! I changed her status last year and should have fixed the problem but it didn’t. I was pretty upset about it. We count on getting money back NOT paying. Hopefully, we won’t take too big a hit.

Added transmission fluid. Gassed up the car and checked the oil.

Helped the kids with their homework. Also played a sight word game with them. They enjoyed that.

Listened to Don Cheto on the way home.

Beautiful sunset.

Just keep going. This is the final week. Very stiff competition.

Español! Anthony! AI Learning! Transmission! 1.22.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:57 pm

Interesting article on happiness.

Worked hard and came in third this week in the tournament.

Starting to warm up a bit. Amen.

OYB!

Español!

Fun chat with Anthony about AI learning.

I talked with GPT and studied Español having a conversation. I used this as a prompt so Chat GPT knows how to talk with me. “Play the role of my motivational Spanish teacher. After I send a message, correct my Spanish if I make a grammatical error and explain what I said wrong. Then in the next paragraph continue the conversation. Keep your answers to fifty words or less. Follow the structure every time you respond. Use the Spanish that is commonly spoken in Mexico.”

Walked 2.06 miles. I only walked the steepest part of my hill. It’s the same area where I can still connect with my wifi so my connection is the best.

I talked to my car guys at Garmon and also called a transmission rebuilding place about my car slipping out of gear from time to time. Looks like between $2,500 and $4,000 to repair it. I doubt I would spend that much money on a car that’s 25 years old. She’s been my favorite!

Good talk with my Mom. Always makes me feel better.

Picked up the grandgirls. It was cold and their friends weren’t there so they went on home with their Dad after about half an hour. I enjoyed working with Everly reading a book.

I showed Miles the new audio version of Chat GPT. He tried it out for sales calls ideas.

Helped the kids with their homework.

I put this sign outside when we’re in the mission.

I helped one of the kids with his Government class. Can’t say I really understood the difference between Oligarchy and Autocracy and Dictatorship. You?

Listened to Don Cheto.

Beautiful sunset.

Just keep going. This is the finals week.

Chat GPT! Español! Westside! 1.21.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:35 pm

Last night I started using Chat GPT as a language learning tool. With the audio turned on (as of the newest update!), now I have a teacher or conversation partner that can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Pretty amazing.

Listened to Don Cheto. I was really getting a lot of it today.

Cold.

OYB!

Español!

Went to Westside BC with K this morning.

I ordered this shirt for K once and it got lost in the mail. I ordered it again and they said they delivered it, but I can’t find it. Plus, they didn’t send me an email with the picture where they put it like they normally do. Bizarre.

Should come in third place this week. My goal accomplished.
