Feeders! PE! Azalea! 8.14.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:02 pm

I love Banksy’s work. He’s one of my favorite artists. I’ve seen his work in London and in Bethlehem, Israel. Atlanta hosted a huge gallery of his hits last year. It was great.

Keep going.

I reviewed these words again. The girl I was helping didn’t show up today. C’est la vie.

I’ve started Zero Dawn Forbidden West again. It’s so realistic.

I think these spirals are beautiful. But the hurricanes sure can be destructive.

Hilarious because they’re true.

Felt good today.

OYB!

I made PBJ sandwiches for J. She likes them in the freezer.

Español!

You’d think with all the hurricanes and tropical storms we’d get more rain. I was shocked to see my cherry tree doing so poorly. I realized she was probably thirsty. Been watering her the last couple of days. I hope she will recover. I’ve never seen that before. I decided I should also water all the monkey grass I planted. It was nice and shady and I think the ground got a good soaking.

Cleaned my hummingbird feeders and refilled them. The birds are really drinking it down!

I filled out the form for financial support from Peachtree Corners BC.

I had Ashley update another section of the teamwhirlwind.com website.

Good chat with my Mom. Always a blessing.

I’ve been reading Castaneda in Spanish recently. It’s cool to instantly look up any word I’m not sure of.

Love my girls! We always have fun together.

Checked the mail at my office.

Helped the kids at the mission. Super busy. Stayed there till 7:30 PM. Really hard homework. I enjoy the math.

Website! Comforter! Azalea! PE! 8.13.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:49 pm

I got this to see if I can repair the wheels on my Gorilla Cart.

Tight race this week.

I think wind patterns are beautiful.

OYB!

Did laundry. I also took Jessi’s comforter to Azalea to use their industrial strength machines to clean it.

Español!

My rose bushes are flowering. Art by God.

Don Cheto.

Rode my bike 12.29 miles.

Went by El Torero to pay for the lunch that I got Jessi yesterday. I forgot my wallet. Oops.

Good talk with my Mom today. Always a blessing.

Wasn’t quite as hot today.

I worked on updating the Team Info page on our TeamWhirlwind.com website. Ashley got it all on line for me.

When I don’t have internet (Thanks, Mint Mobile) I read books in Spanish. Always learning words.

I took my girls for Vietnamese food this afternoon.

I had a big group at the mission today. But almost all of them are camera shy.

Everly wrote a letter to her friend Kyndal in Tennessee today. She got a letter from her today. She was so happy.

I love Penelope’s art so much. She is so creative!

I had a new student today. She speaks only a little English. I did my best to explain Algebra to her en Español. And you wonder why I study every day and take Duolingo so seriously.

I just went on Chat GPT and asked her to give me the basic Spanish words for teaching Algebra. Less than ten seconds later she told me this. And believe me, she sounds exactly like a real person.

My poor little Pink Magnolia is still being hit by white powder mildew. I keep spraying her, especially when we have some dry periods. The spray stays on the plant better when it’s not washed off. Duh.

Went by my office to pick up checks and process them. On the way home, I deposited them. Thank you so much, Father. I know you always take care of me.

Duolingo! Anthony! Power! Tree Branch! 8.12.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:45 pm

Came in second place in Duolingo last week. Out of thirty people.

I updated the schedule for the teams. Ashley helped me get it on line. It’s at teamwhirlwind.com.

Winds.

I played some Horizon Forbidden West last night. Such a beautiful game

OYB!

Ordered groceries.

I had a fun talk with Anthony this morning. I gave him some ideas about his new book on self-hypnosis.

While we were talking, we heard what sounded like a bunch of fireworks going off and then a big BOOM! A large branch had narrowly missed the house. I’m not surprised it missed because I had my tree guy trim a lot of branches from that tree down. I only left the branches that did not look like they’d hit the house.

The eye bolt and the wire had been pulled out but the wires weren’t damaged. Apparently, they leave a lot of cable in the attic so if something like this happens it won’t break the wire. A successful strategy.

I called Walton Power and my electrician to come take a look. They both got here within 1.5 hours. The electrician put the new eye bolt in and the power guys put the cable back up in its place. Astonishing how fast those guys got the job done. When a power line is close to the ground, all the parties go into emergency mode. It’s a live wire that has deadly force.

While I waited for the power company and my electrician to put the wire back up, I checked out the roof. No damage.

The power guys and the electrician worked well together.

The guy at the pole turned the power on once the wire was in place.

I appreciate Minor’s Electric coming over so promptly. You always pay a premium when it’s a rush job. I honestly thought it could be double that.

The power in the house never turned off except for when the power guys turned it off to do the repair. Same for internet. The internet wire got pulled off the side of the house. I have Xfinity coming over to put it back. I don’t like standing on ladders without help. I never have help.

I got my chainsaw out, put some oil in it and went to work. I hadn’t used that machine in over 10 years. It’s electric. Works well for not too big a limbs.

I listened to Don Cheto while I worked.

I put all the lumber in my recycle area.

I like these polypore mushrooms.

I cut and hauled branches for 47 minutes.

Then went to Ann’s house to throw her garbage in the bin and take it to the street. It’s easy to forget how hard it is to do common things if you’re in a wheelchair.

Edit! Podcast! Swim! 8.11.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 3:52 pm

Edited the team video I shot yesterday and sent the team leader the Thank You email which includes the photos and the video I shot.

OYB!

Español!

Penelope is my favorite lefty!

Went to Stone Mountain around 11:00 AM. Big line! I was there for about five minutes and they opened a “sticker” line, which I have, and I zoomed passed everyone. Yeah, Baby.

Hot, but not too bad this morning.

Don Cheto.

Went to Stone Mountain to record Verbal Surgery “Jump!” It’s a good one.

Went to Crazy River with K. She really enjoys it. It’s fun. I also swam four lengths in the lap pool.

Christ Church! Azalea! 8.10.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:33 pm

Updated the registration for one of our websites. Sometime I think this stuff is a scam.

I like the way Seth Godin thinks.

Español!

OYB!

Got to FBC Doraville right at 9:00 AM. That’s plenty of time to set up for The Show. It usually takes me less than 45 minutes to complete.

Got a text from Ann to help her with her garbage. That sounds like it could become a regular job. Audible groan.

Listened to Don Cheto while driving home. Tried to call my Mom and my brother, Jim.

It was really hot today.

I’ll come in #2 this week. It’s what I thought would happen.

I had a great time working with my team from Christ Church, Birmingham, AL today. I like working with family teams. The new missions minister also came with one other lady.

We had a good group of kids from the mission.

After working with the team, I went back to the church to strike the set and put the Fellowship Hall like I found it. Actually, better than I found it.

Español! Deadpool! Shoes! 8.9.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:42 pm

He hates being outclassed.

Got polled.

Español!

Getting some dental picks.

OYB!

Repainted my shoes.

Made PBJs for J.

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders. I have 4.

Cleaned and refilled my birdbaths.

Watered my outdoor plants.

I cut part of a handkerchief and hot glued it onto the interior top of my hat. I didn’t like the feel of the straw on my head. Softer now. I also worked on shaping my hat. I spray it with water lightly and bend it into the shape I want. I can’t get over how it is exactly what I wanted!

Everly had a bracelet that broke. She asked me to fix it. I tried hot glue but ended up sewing it. I put it in her cupholder until I see her on Monday.

Fixed the blood pressure machine for K. It needed new batteries.

A shot of part of my desk.

I saw this on the sidewalk.

I went to see Deadpool and Wolverine again. This time I went to one of their best theaters and the sound was perfect. Such a great experience.

Bike! Español! PE! 8.8.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:53 pm

I’m glad I’m not stuck in space.

Español!

OYB!

Called Dr. Abraham’s office again to try and straighten out a bill we got.

WX!

Listened to Don Cheto while I rode my bike 12.40 miles.

While I was on my ride, I noticed an area of sidewalk that was soaked with water. I’ve seen that scenario a few times. It always means that there is a leaking water main nearby. I wrote a note to the neighbor telling them that they needed to call the city about the situation.

Talked to my Mom. That’s always good.

I sprayed the pink magnolia tree at the mission with a fungicide again. It has suffered a lot because of that white powder mildew fungus.

Picked up the girls at the bus. I liked this “All About Me” art project Everly did.

We got Chic-fil-a and ate at my office. Love these little sweethearts!

Got gas at QT on the way home. $2.78! Wow. Three miles south on the same road in Chamblee it’s $3.45.

Bed! Bike! PE! K! 8.7.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:00 pm

Keep going.

I enjoyed listening to this band last night.

Shared a contact concerning getting another car with Ash and Miles last night.

Annual cost for the website for my blog.

OYB!

Español!

Cleaned my bedding this morning. I’ve started using a sheet which keeps the comforter much cleaner.

WX! Man, it really felt hot today.

Went for a 12.50 mile bike ride this morning.

K and I picked up the girls and took them to Taco Veloz.

Vice President! Bike! Bank! 8.6.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:07 pm

I’ve been watching this storm closely.

Big news on the political front.

OYB!

Paid some bills.

When I checked my oil yesterday, it looked a little low. After sitting, it was just fine. Way cooler in my garage than in the full sun at the gas station!

Español!

WX!

I got in touch with the Missions Minister at Christ Church in Birmingham, AL this morning. Looks like they’re bringing a bigger group. Seven is always better than just three, although I still should have taken them around.

Called Dr. Abraham’s office to check on a bill we got recently. The doctor we had been seeing is starting his own practice.

I replaced my carabiner for my key chain today. They wear out over time.

Don Cheto.

Listened to his podcast while I biked 7.79 miles. I’m still trying to figure out my route if I want to bike for about an hour. I usually go around 1.5 hours, but that’s a lot before my work day gets going. I’ll do the longer distances when I’m not going into Chamblee.

I think these guys do a good job.

I worked on putting the magnets that I cut to size on the prayer cards while I waited for my juevos rancheros.

I also went to the Post Office. I weighed an envelope with a single sheet of paper, a return envelope and the family card with a magnet on it. It came in at .80 oz. Which is just right for one stamp. One less thing to worry about.

I got an update on Ashley’s car.

I did way more exercise than this. We went swimming frequently as well as walking long distances. Now that I have my mornings back again, I’ll be exercising a lot more.

Deposited checks. Thank you, Yeshua. I really appreciate it.

Shared a contact with Ashley and Miles.

Had a good chat with my Mom. Always a blessing.

Español! Anthony! PE! AZ Party! 8.5.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:37 pm

Live healthy.

Came in #2 last week.

OYB!

WX!

Fun chat with my buddy, Anthony.

Rode muy bike 8.13 miles.

There’s been a junked bike near the entrance of our subdivision. After I had my bike ride, I rolled that junker up to my house. Got my tools and took it apart and put it in my dumpster.

Ash had a problem with her Jeep this morning. Hope it’s nothing major.

Listened to Don Cheto while I rode my bike.

Talked with my Mom on the way to work. Always good.

I saw my partner Virginia Cosgrove at the mission. She told me that she’ll be retiring in the Fall. Hated to hear that. She’s been a great leader of her ministry.

I had fun handing out popsicles to the kids and parents. First day back to school!

Long way from Canada.

Love my girls!

Gassed up my car on the way home. Checked the oil. It was down to the last 1/4. I’ll put some in tomorrow. The car was super hot to work with at the gas station.

Back on track to be #2 again this week. Duolingo really only tracks if you’re in the top three.
