Penelope lost her front tooth!

It was still 27 degrees this morning when I got to the mission. I talked to the grandgirls about temperatures related to water/ice. Then showed them pictures of frost bite. Gross.

We ate breakfast at Taco Veloz. It was delicious. They always eat well.

Duncan doughnuts for dessert. I spoke some Bangla to the ladies who work there. They gave us everything for free!

Penelope’s new skateboard had a ding on it. I got some color pencils and made the torn off paper blend in, then put tape on it to make it look shiny again. She was happy with how it turned out.

We went to Plaza Fiesta after doughnuts.

Then Cheswick park.

And Village Park.

Dropped off the old CPAP machine at the FedEx place to send back to Phillips to be refurbished. The office was at the PDK airport campus.

Then back home to rest. The girls were pooped. Everly slept over and hour until her Dad got home and I left. She always cries when I leave.

“I don’t want you to go, Pop Pop!” She’s fine five minutes later.

Stopped on the way home to pick up a cheese and mushroom pizza at Lil Caesars. A Muslim man was having his prayer time while I waited.

Listened to radio from Madrid.

Even though my back is still bothering me, I blew the leaves out of the garage and off most of the driveway.

Glad to FINALLY stop having to drip the pipes all the time!

Everly’s present had been opened and returned to Walmart. It was missing the crayons. I ordered more for her to use with her gift.

I’m taking the girls on Marta to downtown Atlanta tomorrow. Should be fun although we had a bad experience on the train last time we went. Crazy guy scared them.

Just keep going!

My Mom flies Southwest regularly. They’re normally really good. Hate to see this.

Always studying. I practice reading in Spanish and learn new words.

Light dusting of snow last night. Didn’t have any trouble driving this morning.

I liked Everly’s art on the scratch pads with rainbow colors.

Glad to have Kathy with me today along with the grandgirls. Her work place had a pipe that burst and closed for the day. We had the slowest service in Waffle House ever.

We stopped by Ashley’s work at Briggs Optical to let K see her place. Then to Perimeter Mall. Always cool stuff to see.

Outside of Anthropologie we practiced letter sounds and spelled some words. All those education classes I took the last two days really influenced me.

We had fun looking at the clothes.

And playing in the toy cars.

We walked 1.87 miles in the mall. My back was really hurting by the end of that. I felt really good this morning. Definitely over did it.

Went to my office to pick up checks. There were a lot! PTL. Processed them, then deposited them on the way home.

Gassed up my car and checked the levels.

I packed Kathy’s old CPAP machine up to send it back to Phillips to refurbish for another person who needs it.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “New Old.” Groovy!

I put some water in the bowl for the animals. The frozen lump I dumped out last night was still there.

This guy Jim I’m competing with this week is out of this world good. He must be answering questions at light speed.

I thought this was interesting.

I’m so glad that all the freezing weather didn’t have ice involved. Can’t imagine what it would be like to live in a place like this!

I liked this book and Barker’s weekly newsletter.

Christmas Eve is way more important to our family than the actual Christmas Day. I spent most of the last two days studying and taking classes to help Kathy in her Day Care Job. I’m good at taking tests. I completed five separate courses. I liked them because it helps me with the kids at the mission and the grandgirls.

It’s been super cold this last week. Yow!

Always studying. Came in #5 last week. Lots of motivated students.

Watered my plants. The repotting and fertilizing is having a great effect, especially on my African Violets. There were a couple I thought were just about to die.

Little warmer today.

Usually by the second day I can pretty much tell how the league is going to be because I can see the history of each player. Jim has over a million points and has come in the first three students 98 times. Sure enough, by the end of the day he was almost to 5,000 points. That’s a lot of correct answers!

Last night was the coldest it’s ever been in my room. And I had the heater on! Yow!

There was ice on the inside of the glass where the condensation froze.

I usually sit outside on the porch when I study. Decided against that this morning.

Enjoyed playing Battlefront II and watching Star Wars Rebels.

Worked hard, but have a lot of competition this week. I don’t get up tight about it.

Expecting an even colder night this evening. Yow!

Crazy. Don’t see myself trusting self-driving cars anytime soon.

With the freezing weather I worked on prepping the house. This morning I unhooked the garden hoses.

Walked 1.27 miles.

Spectator.

Listened to Spanish Radio.

Picked up my groceries.

While I was at Walmart, I went to the hardware department and got some foam stripping to wrap the two outdoor faucets. I had to improvise a solution because everything was pretty much sold out. I wasn’t planning on doing that but I got an email from Georgia Power saying with this hard freeze it’d be a good idea. I used foam weather stripping. Cut pieces and put them on, then wrapped them with plastic bags and taped them securely. Should be just fine.

I had to do it in the dark, but I had my headlight from my Amazon jungle trip so it was easy to see.

Released an episode of Verbal Surgery called “Manual Focus.” Excellent.

I recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery this afternoon called “Habitual Discipline.” Downloaded it from my recorder onto my Mac.

We are getting ready to get hit with some REALLY cold weather. Wow!

They are currently making a new version of this movie. Part of it is in Doraville. It’s been cool to see the crew wandering around the FBC Doraville campus.

I’ve been getting to the mission about an hour early so I can work on Spanish.

I made a calendar for the girls today so they could see what’s on the agenda. Helps them know what’s going on when. I didn’t really fill in the details, just the days and who’s watching them.

Really tough competition this week. Normally, my score would be way ahead of the rest of the students.

Went to the office to check the mail. Got checks and deposited them.

We ate breakfast at Taco Veloz.

Enjoyed churros.

Went to the Dollar Tree to get supplies for wrapping the presents we bought at Goodwill yesterday and some art stuff.

Penelope made an elephant.

Went back to my office to paint and wrap the presents.

They helped me vacuum my office.

Then to Plaza Fiesta.

Pretty miserable weather.

Listened to radio from Spain on the way home.

I was so happy Argentina won!

I keep working hard. It says 22. It’s actually 39!

After eating at Waffle House, we went to visit Ashley at her office. We had a lot of fun and Ashley enjoyed showing off her girls.

Then to Goodwill to look for Christmas presents. I had fun messing with the Santa robot.

We found some things that I think the family will like. The girls got a few small toys, too.

Then to Perimeter Mall. We had fun trying out the colognes. I liked this “Mr. Bones” Santa.

I used to take Ashley shopping here when she was in high school!

Even the restrooms are cool in that mall.

I wanted to go there for the Auntie Anne’s cinnamon sugar pretzels.

I thought these shoes were groovy.

Grandgirls spent the night with us Saturday evening. Always a blessing.

Super cold.

Kathy, Penelope, Everly and I went to a reception for Sarah Doverspike and her future husband. We had a good time with Kathy’s extended family. Five of the grandchildren were there.

The reception was at the Thornhill community clubhouse.

Looked like a juvenile Sharp-Shinned Hawk.

Watched the highlights of the final for the World Cup with Argentina vs France. They were my two favorite teams. Argentina my favorite won! I’m a super big Lionel Messi fan.

Gassed up my car and checked the fluids.

Dropped the girls back off at the Miles’ parent’s house on the way home. Had a good visit with the Kendalls.

Six in the morning wake up call for me for the next three days to watch the grandgirls.
