Gains in Gainesville!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:02 pm

Jesse and I spent the day with one of my partners Tyler Recker.
t
We worked in Gainesville, home of the largest chicken factories in the world!

We started out at the Columns at Chicopee where we have had work in the past. The new manager was very affirming and looks forward to us being there.
t
Also established a partnership with the managers at The Retreat at McEver and Lenox Park. Excellent!
l
Stopped by Best Buy on the way home to pick up an external hard drive. Jesse needs it to fix Keith’s computer.

We went by the Bird Watcher’s shop. I asked him about the hummingbirds this year. I told him I hadn’t seen nearly as many this year. He agreed that they’ve been fewer this year at his place. We’re not sure why.

Mystery!

Twitter Rank

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:02 am

On March 1st, 2009 I started my Twitter account.

I focus on Ben Franklinesque witty sayings.

Today I broke 23,212 followers. That ranked me as 1,930 out of over 6 million users.

I thought it was pretty cool to be in the top 2,000!

Check my tweets out a twitter.com/timacummins. Groovy!

Rockbridge Baptist Church

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:40 pm

Kathy and I had fun seeing our friends from a new church: Rockbridge Baptist Church. They were previously Glover Baptist Church, one of our terrific supporters!

rrb
Can you see the bubbles?

It was great to spend time with good friends!

We also ate Thai food. I thought Kathy looked like a tiger!

Power and Outreach!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:00 pm

This morning about 6:30am everything in my room went quiet. Usually I have a fan blowing, but the power went dead and I woke straight up. The power company told me a squirrel chewed through a power line and crashed a whole neighborhood. Bizarre.

Went to Kroger to pick up supplies for the Outreach Event at Villa Nueva.
k
Saw Roxy Kendall and her baby when I was at the store. Roxy is Miles’ sister, who is Ashley’s boyfriend. Cute!
zr
Cruised over to Villa Nueva to meet up with my team. We unloaded the car, then rounded up the kids. Special thanks to Keith and Cornelia Harrell, the leaders of the mission and their summer team leader, Katie.
v
It was fun to hang out with the kids!

kg

We also handed out school supplies thanks to partners at the North American Mission Board.
s

Came on home and rested. My foot with the sting itches like crazy now. Guess that’s better than feeling like I’m being stuck with a needle! The swelling has gone way down.f

Brought Keith’s computer back home for Jesse to work on.

Good day!

Yellow Jacket–1, Tim–0

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:42 pm

About every 5 days, I clean out my hummingbird feeders and replace it with fresh sugar water. Otherwise it starts to ferment, and I wouldn’t want to be responsible for hummingbird inebriation. It’s a fight between me and the yellow jackets who also enjoy the sweet water.

Stepped on one that was under some leaves. STUNG! I got ice on pretty quickly, so it didn’t swell too badly.

Went over to Keith Harrell’s house to pick up his computer. It has multiple viruses. Jesse is working on it now for him.

Keith and Kaitlen (his daughter) went with me to FBC Doraville. I needed to check the mail and pick up a grill for the Outreach Event at Villa Nueva tomorrow.

Also went to Walmart. Needed face paint. The store in Chamblee didn’t have any. So I’m going to try finger paint. We’ll see how it works out. It’s safe for your skin, but not sure how it’ll look.

Took the Harrells back home and came back to rest my foot. Stupid yellow jacket.

Anthony and Villa Nueva

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:16 pm

Jesse, Ashley and I together all day! Yeah!

Went by Providence Christian Academy to pick up some of my gear from Carl Barrington.
j

We met up with a new partner Anthony Marable from Victory World Church. It was great to talk about missions and show him the Villa Nueva property. We’ll host a block party over there on Saturday.
j
We also went by Party City to pick up supplies for the that outreach event.

Then back to the office to work on admin stuff.

Good day!

NAMB & Bayo. DMV no go.

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:00 pm

Jesse and I picked up Bayo at Huntington Terraces on the way for me to do my presentation at the North American Mission Board.
j
It was a great group of candidates at the board today!
nnn
After the seminar, we took Bayo to the Family Christian Book Store to pick him up a new Nelson Study Bible. He loves it!

Then on to Clarkston where we met my partner Joe Scott at Willow Branch.
j
He had a car that was donated to our ministry. After the donation, we give the car to on of our missionaries, in this case Joe! We went to the DMV, but unfortunately all the paper work wasn’t in order. We’ll get it next time!

Came on home to work on the new contract for our teams and my normal assignments.

J & A!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:29 pm

GREAT to have BOTH of my kids with me today! Supa blessing!
j
We picked up Bayo at Huntington Terraces and went to Perimeter Mall. I wanted to check out some books at the Barnes and Noble. I’ve been reading about body language. Fascinating subject!

Scooted over to Walmart where I picked up some supplies including basketballs for the missions!
m
The kids always enjoy that!

Took Bayo to the Metro PCS place to get his phone then back to his mission to drop off the basketball.

Then over to Clarkston to take Jesse to his guitar class. He teaches Ashley now, too! Aziz seems to be playing a lot better. They were working in 7th chords today.
a
While the kids were rocking out, Bayo and I went to the sewing machine place to check on machines that he might use. He didn’t find what he needed. He says he has better connections in NYC. We may need to take a ride up there!

Got to spend a little time with Bennett and Ian! Always a good thing!

Trey and Bayo!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:11 pm

This morning Jesse and I met up at El Toreros (mi oficina #2) with my great partner Trey Garrard!
t
Trey helped Ashley at her mission at Kensington Station. Whirlwind has been supporting him at Dallas Theological Seminary where’s he’s working on his degree so he can be a Pastor! He’s a great guy and I’m glad we got to spend time with him!

We went by office at FBC Doraville to pick up the mail and check on the internet connection from my partners Deborah and Ron Hayes. I’m glad that they got it working again! J and I worked on it for about an hour and the ATT guy said we’d have to call back the next day. Glad Ron was there to figure it out!

We gathered up toys that a friend and dropped off and took them over to Huntington Terraces for my partner Bayo Otiti to use. He’s doing great at the mission there and seems to be settling in well.
b
Went by Walmart to pick up some supplies then over to Azalea Place to go check on the kids and ask them how they felt about school getting ready to start. Girls were ok about it. Boys not so much.
m
Took Bayo back to the mission and Jesse and I came on back to Stone Mountain.

My back is better, but still not good enough for me to start running again.

Working on financial reports.

Pain and Relief

Tim A. Cummins @ 2:35 pm

I hurt my back last Tuesday. Started to feel better Saturday.

I went to the Braves game with one of best friends, and the smartest guy I know, Carl Barrington.
ccb

We had fun visiting together and seeing the Braves beat the Dodgers. Cool!
bb
I picked up Kathy and we went over to their house for supper and games. Fun!
pk
Sleeping better. Still tired. Kathy let me sleep in this morning.

It’s rained about 3 1/2″ over the last four days at my place. Mushrooms starting to sprout.
m
One of my favorites!
