I enjoyed a fun day with Jesse today!

We had a good lunch then went to Radio Shack. I needed to return something I’d bought as well as pick up a cable for Jesse. We also got him a new case for his iPhone.

Had a great hike up the quarry side of Stone Mountain. Some really beautiful views from there.

I love the old train there.

Over to Walmart to pick up some fireworks.

Ashley is having a party and J is taking them to that.

Kathy and I met up with Ashley, Miles and Jesse this morning.

Enjoyed going to Clarkston International Bible Church.

Pastor Phil gave an introduction to the seven letters in Revelation. Should be an interesting series.

Enjoyed lunch with the family at Madina. Tibis was excellent!


Worked on my admin duties this afternoon, then went to see the Hobbit in 3D! I really enjoyed it.

COLD outside! My thermometer says 29 degrees!

Home now to finish up my work.

We’ve had some rain since I’ve been gone. About 3 1/2″!

Ashley came by our house and did some remodeling. THANKS, Ash!

Started working on my newsletter. Normally, it’s complete by now. We can’t print it till January 3rd so we still have a few days to put the finishing touches on it.

Worked on home jobs today. Cleaned fish tank. Moved one of the big fish from the top tank to the bottom tank. All the little fish pester the big ones. In fact they killed one of the big ones while I was gone. ; (

Called the carpet people to come clean. We’re going to try the ZeroRez people and see how it goes.

Also wrote the checks for the household and did some financial work for the ministry.

Did the family shopping. Kathy bought some hoodies she needed too.

Put everything up.

Finish admin duties now. All the photos are uploaded and social media is caught up.

Kathy, Jesse and I just returned from our safari to Texas!

It was almost exactly 1,000 miles from my house in Stone Mountain to my family in Georgetown, Texas.

Crossing the Mississippi is always groovy!

We sang some Christmas songs, I told the Christmas story and we shared gifts. Our family opens the gifts on Christmas eve. I think that’s a German heritage thing.

We also had a birthday cake for Jesus. It tasted good too!

Getting ready to go to Texas. It’s all about the prep, baby!

Got my car from T&G. They said it’s fine to travel. I have an emission issue that we’ll square away when we get back.

Got my shoes back from the tailor. I thought they look pretty good. Leather is nearly indestructible.

My Dad gave me these shoes. He wore them for a while. I guess that’s one reason they’re special to me.

Jesse has been working on this immense family project of transferring the videos from VHS to digital. He put together a video of the Christmases from 1990 & 1991.

J and I met up with Ashley at the mission! Still helping kids with homework!

They were mighty happy about the party yesterday. Jeffrey loved his tattoo.

Got home and cleaned out the car. Need to make room for the luggage.

Our whole family enjoyed hosting the team from Perimeter Church! They were a group from a ladies’ Bible Study.

The ladies told the Christmas Story, decorated Christmas cookies, had a sticker craft for the kids to play with.

Great time was had by all!

I looked at Creative Loafing while I was there. This ad intrigued me.

This afternoon, Jesse and I went to 12 Stone Church. My friend Shawn had saved us some food boxes. It was a big job!

We took the food the missions at Azalea and Huntington Terraces.

It always feels good to help needy families.

I was glad we had a little left over for Ashley and Miles too! One of my favorite families!

Kathy got a new perm! Beauty!

After eating lunch with J and K, I took the car over to T&G to have them check it out before we go to Texas.

Looks like there could be something wrong with part of the emission system. I’m taking it in first thing Monday so they can check that out as well as the rest of the car before we go to Texas. It’s almost exactly 1,000 miles to where my parents live from Stone Mountain.

I’m glad gas prices have dropped!

Home to finish up the admin duties.

Watched an Israeli movie tonight called “Footnote.” It still amazes me what K and I will sit through. Incredibly slow pacing. But they were speaking Hebrew, and writing Hebrew and the scenes were all in Jerusalem, which we find cool. So we watched it. It actually had scenes from Fiddler on the Roof in Hebrew! I still stand by my decision that Carl Barrington was the best Tevya I’ve ever seen.
