Christ Church, AL! Al Madina, BAPS Temple! China Town! Azalea! 4.5.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:21 pm

OYB!

Español!

Ashley brought the girls over to the church this morning to spend the day with me. Kathy came down a few hours later. GREAT to have her on board too.

After the team finished at Azalea, Everly helped me strike the set. Amen.

I filled up my car and checked the oil on the way home.

Keep going!

I had a great time with my team from Christ Church, Birmingham, AL! I did the briefing on Hinduism and Buddhism and took them to Al Madina for lunch. They really enjoyed the middle eastern food.

We went on Safari to the BAPS temple and to China Town.

Then to Azalea to work with the kids.

They brought a cotton candy machine!

Fun day!

Bluehost! Podcast! Jon! Taxes! 4.4.25

Woke up to a frantic email from my brother in law. I spent over an hour with Bluehost trying to figure out the problem. The tech thought it was a storage issue. I spent near $650 to get more storage per month. I sure hope it fixes the issue.

UPS! Harvest! Transplant! 4.3.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:54 pm

OYB!

Español! 1958 is my birth year. Sounds like a long time ago doesn’t it?

Went to the UPS store to mail back 2 USB-C cords.

My sundew plants are blooming! All of them seem like they are ok after the transplanting.

Got all my tools together to harvest and transplant.

First, you have to rake the area you’re getting ready to harvest. Ideally, it should only be dirt and monkey grass. It’s full of leaves and other plants before I work on it.

I got several hundred plants.

I’ve been working in the very back corner of their yard. You can’t see it from their house really.

I thought this was cool.

I finished off the first third today. Hopefully, I have enough plants to finish the south side.

The azaleas have been incredible this year.

I’m trying to do the hard job of digging done asap. The weather will start getting really hot soon. It’s fun to have a project and work hard and see the vision come to pass.

Lots of digging and planting today.

Then blow the driveway and water the plants. Lots of pollen fronds.

I called Bluehost to check up on the error message Bill Doverspike was getting. He just has to wait and try later.

Last part of the job was watering.

Washed the deck.

I listened to Spanish music while I worked.

I added another team to the list today. Amen.

Got warm this afternoon. Perfect really.

I called my credit union to make sure that they got my last check. The mail in this city is so bad.

Just keep going.

Newsletters! Apartment Recon! Promo! PE! Azalea! 4.2.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:11 pm

Big storm coming. Hope most of it misses us.

OYB!

Beautiful day!

Always fun to show people around. Especially if it generates business, which it will!

The church secretary had my newsletters ready to go by 11. I came into town to get them done and in the mail.

Once I had the newsletter project complete, I turned my sites towards confirming the rest of the locations for the team coming from Alabama. I covered four sites and talked to three managers. Amen.

There’s a new leader for Cross Cultural Ministries. I was hoping to meet her today. She wasn’t there. I met a couple of the other staff.

Dogwoods are blooming! That’s supposed to indicate Easter is near.

I tried to call my Mom today. So far no luck using FaceTime.

Helped the kids at the mission.

Some of the younger kids just draw.

Helped one of the kids with gravity problems the other with reading and some math.

Then we did races. The kids really enjoy that.

Listened to Don Cheto on the way home.

I did a promo for Taco Veloz for their media. They had a marketing company come by and shoot a video. I did the English and a Spanish version. They thought both were great.

It makes all of the studying pay off. Don Cheto and Duolingo is a killer combo for me. I’ve really seen progress in my comprehension level because of listening to that podcast.

Monkey Grass Transplant! PE! Azalea! 4.1.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:59 pm

OYB!

Cool morning. Perfect weather this afternoon.

Español!

Started transplanting the monkey grass that I harvested last week. Raked first. Then dug holes and put two plants in each hole.

After I have them planted, I press the dirt down around it hard with my shoe. Final step is water the plants thoroughly.

Mileage.

My shovel came in a big box. I asked Ashley if she wanted a piece to do art with. She’s made some wonderful pieces on cardboard. And these pieces are big. Most of them the girls and I will do projects with.

I ate lunch with the girls at Cicis. They eat the pizza but they love the desserts.

They like the driving game.

Ryder took Labooboo (Everly’s new favorite plushie) outside to play with it. Everly was screaming like she had a knife in her. I got it back from the dog, cleaned it up and she was pretty much ok. She eventually hugged the pup, too.

I thought the pollen stains on these rocks were cool.

My baby pink magnolia has started putting out leaves. I’m watching it carefully for white powder mildew. I have the Neem oil to use on her this year.

Helped the kids at the mission.

Never too much Ashley.

We’ve enjoyed Carter Vail.

Deposited checks. Thank you so much, Father.

I’m going to clobber everybody this week.

Plants! Laundry! Stamps! Car Play! Azalea! 3.31.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:08 pm

Worked on certification for my housing allowance. I’ll have my treasurer sign the letters when I see him soon. He’s doing better but recovering from Covid.

Ordered groceries.

Came in second place last week as I predicted.

I always find Eric Barker’s blog helpful.

Watered my indoor plants. So much beauty. About a third of these plants are getting ready to go back outside. Pretty much all the small ones stay inside, although I’m planning on leaving some carnivorous plants outside this year.

OYB!

I blew the garage, front park and driveway and then washed them off.

I put the vacuum back together. You have to let the parts dry out or the filter starts to stink.

Big thunderstorms blew through. I drove through it on the way to the church, and then I found out that the church secretary is now only working Wednesday and Thursday. So it looks like the newsletters will be slightly late. Everyone blames the mail. As they should.

Did my laundry.

I had a good talk with Nana today. I was glad I did because the place that she’s been moved to has no phone and bad wifi. Stone Age.

I went by the Post Office to pick up some stamps. HUGE line and no one a the self-service. Typical.

I changed the cables around for my car stereo wireless head. I decided to put the power cord from the head to the 12V input near the steering wheel. That way I don’t block the signal from the device. I also tuned in the FM wireless signal to the lowest spectrum of the FM band.

Want to guess what’s in this big flat box?

A shovel.

I’m getting used to the Google Maps display on the Car Play rather through my iPhone.

Listened to Piolin. I prefer Don Cheto.

Went by my office to check the mail and get the newsletters copied. I’ll have to wait until Wednesday to knock that part out. Also watered and misted the ficus in my office. It’s getting pretty big.

The girls and I are enjoying listening to Carter Vail 100 Cowboys.

Wednesday I’ll be doing a spot for Taco Veloz.

Worked with the kids at the mission.

I always enjoy seeing a Pileated Woodpecker. They’re as big as a crow!

I got some USB-C cables, but turned out what I had was sufficient. I’ll send them back to Amazon.

I should come in first place this week.

Vacuum! Podcast! Newsletter! 3.30.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:09 pm

That’s a lotta pollen.

Reality check.

I ordered a new shovel. The one I used yesterday was worn out.

Mild with just a few sprinkles.

OYB!

Español!

Vacuumed the house and cleaned the vacuum. Meta.

Pollen hand prints on my car is a Mr. Tim tradition.

Went to Stone Mountain to record “Mental Magnet.” Produced and uploaded it. Posted on Facebook.

Produced and printed my newsletter. Still need to do the labeling.

Ordered groceries. I’ll pick them up on the way home from work tomorrow.

I’ll come in second place this week. Works for me.

Newsletter! UPS! Harvest! Monkey Grass! 3.29.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:15 pm

Every thing seems covered in yellow dust.

Been in touch with my tax guy to verify some things.

I’ve been enjoying watching clips from this show.

OYB!

Español!

Wrote my newsletter. I’ll produce it tomorrow.

I got a new camera case. The belt loop was nearly tearing off.

Sent the headset back to Amazon via UPS.

While I was there, I noticed that FBC Mountain Park had torn down their two mission houses. They sure helped us when we needed them! Now there’s just a fence and field.

Gassed up my car. Added about .5 quarts of oil.

I’m still working on my car set up. I need one more cord to power my phone.

I filled up my quart bottle of oil when I got home. I have a big container at home.

I got a message from my friend Jon who is in the hospital with Covid. He sounded pretty rough. Father, help him heal! Amen.

I drove through some light rain. It froze the pollen in place.

I’m drying out the perlite before I put it back in the bag.

I started on the next phase of the transplanting monkey grass from my neighbor’s back yard to my front yard project. I got all the equipment together and raked the area thoroughly before digging up the plants. I then put them in my gorilla cart to keep them wet before I plant them. Could be a while.

I’m ready to keep digging the plants up the next time. I got some bug down the back of my shirt which kept stinging me. Decided to quit for the day. I’m hoping that the rain coming the next couple of days will soften the ground.

I should come in second place tomorrow.

Deck! Carnivore Transplant! 3.28.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:51 pm

Immigrants gave $100 Billion to our economy and some people think they’re bad?

I’m looking forward to seeing this exhibit next weekend.

OYB!

I set my electric account up as auto pay. The mail made me miss two bills last month.

Español!

Absolutely beautiful. I call it “Nakuru Weather.”

Rinsed off my deck. Ton of pollen.

I really like these wax melts.

I listened to Don Cheto for around three hours while I worked on the plants.

I gathered all the pots and soil together. Set up my table and washed the perlite.

Then I put soil in each of my cups.

Then I took the plants out of their soil from last year, separated the plants, and cleaned off the soil from the roots.

Then I planted them in the new pot.

Push. Every. Day.

Car Play! PEK! Azalea! 3.27.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:29 pm

OYB!

Spring Break coming soon.

Español!

I installed my new CarPlay system. Awesome! And only $40!

K came with me to pick up the grandgirls and take them out to eat at Pho 24.

Helped the kids at the mission. Way busier than I thought it would be.

Don’t stop. Won’t stop.
