Grandgirls! Stone Mountain Camp! Azalea! 9.8-9.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:28 pm

I had a great time with the grand girls on Tuesday.

We went to our rock on Stone Mountain. I had sidewalk chalk for them this time. It was great fun decorating it with these bright colors with the little girls.

Our drum.

The yellow daisies are blooming on Stone Mountain. It’s just so beautiful!

Went to the mission to help the kids with their homework. We’re getting the hang of this everyone having their laptop with an assignment pulled up.

Deposited checks.

Just barely made the midnight deadline to get Duolingo another day! The lesson was really hard and if you make any tiny mistake the whole sentence is wrong. And you only get a few mistakes for the whole set of questions. So it’s definitely challenging now.

I was helping the kids with their homework and two of them don’t speak English very well and I was having to read their homework and translate it into Spanish to try to help explain what was going on. I seemed overall be doing pretty well. So I was pretty happy.

Beautiful sunrise.

It was great to have the grand girls with us today.

Everly stacked these water bottles.

We did our lessons.

Nail polish for K.

We got in some new legos. They fit our table!

Then went to the dog park to play on the swings in different climbing stuff they have.

Portrait of Pop Pop.

Then went to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.

Checked on the mail at the office.

Went to the bank.

I’m having to get used to uploading the pictures on my phone to my Mac and then going to my photo server from my Mac rather than from my phone. I don’t know what’s wrong with the app on my phone.

Listened to Harry Potter on the way home from the mission.

Sunset!

Had some questions about my book on Amazon.

Worked on tweaking some of my buddy’s website.

Uploaded an edition of Verbal Surgery to my computer.

Cooler today!

Went to Stone Mountain and recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery.

Looking forward to the girls being back tomorrow. I put together a new little table for them to use. It’s size appropriate. Should be great for them!

Got the Mercury fired up and parked it at Kathy’s sister’s house.

Cleaned off the driveway where it had been parked.

Enjoying Spiderman.

Grandgirls! Stone Mountain! Mission! 9.3-4.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:02 pm

Thursday, it was a beautiful full sun moon.

Enjoyed seeing Ashley!

And working with the grand girls.

We cooked chocolate chip cookies.

They’ve really been working hard on their studies.

We took the cookies up to Stone Mountain for our hike.

We put some pennies out to get squished by the train. Those are cool.

We’re enjoying our little place on the mountain. It’s our own campsite.

I got some sidewalk chalk today. I’m looking forward to them coloring that big rock.

It’s yellow daisy season. I enjoy taking pictures of them in those flowers.

Saw a wild caterpillar when I was out there with them.

Continue to do my Spanish study.

Enjoyed listening to Miles jam.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Went by my office to check the mail.

Continue to listen to Harry Potter in Spanish.

Put gas in the car Friday.

Deposited some checks.

Everly helped me put oil in the car.

Did more study in our little school.

Kathy went with us today to Stone Mountain.

We enjoyed feeding the geese.

The girls had fun playing in the sand.

They are so beautiful.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery today called “Footprints and Friction.” Excellent.

Also studied and did my brain training.

It’s been great to see people take me up on my free offer to read my book.

Grandgirls! Stone Mountain! Mission! 9.2.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:37 pm

Met up with Ashley today at Global Mall to pick up the grand girls.

We did some good work studying today. I was proud of their effort.

I’ve studied Hebrew and know what it’s like to try to figure out symbols that make no sense. So I empathize with Penelope trying figure out how to say the word 13 or how to write numbers and letters. It really is quite a lot of information.

Kathy and I took the girls to Stone Mountain. We love climbing on the rocks. It’s a beautiful place.

On the way home, I saw this massive tree limb had smashed a guy’s roof.

I had an inspector come by to take a look at my roof today. It made what I’m dealing with look pretty inconsequential.

Picked up the groceries at Walmart.

Was a hot day. Very humid.

Took the girls back to their house. Nothing went on at the mission because it was a teacher workday.

Stopped by my office to pick up the mail.

Listened to radio From Madrid on my way home.

I studied Spanish and did my brain training this evening. I don’t really have time to do that in the morning.

Grandgirls! Library Park! Mission! 9.1.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:35 pm

Picked up the grand girls at Global Mall.

Always great to see Ashley.

We checked out how our flowers are growing.

Everly helped me cook breakfast.

We worked in our little school. They both continue to make great progress.

Saw a super cool caterpillar today.

Went to the library park. Fun stuff there to play on.

Always studying new plants.

We finally found Everly‘s favorite toy “Slothy.” It was in the very bottom of a toy box. She was so happy.

We came back home to the Mission.

I cleaned off all of the tables with disinfectant before the kids came.

Helped them with their homework.

I continue to speak a lot of Spanish especially with the younger kids who don’t know very much English. It’s very rewarding to study something hard and see it be so beneficial.

They drew some pictures for Ashley and the girls.

Went to the bank to deposit some checks. That’s always a blessing.

Studied Spanish and did my brain training this evening.

While working out over a year ago, I tore the muscles in my forearm, bicep, tricep and back. I have been working on physical therapy on those muscles for the whole time. This evening, I’ve been able to use my little finger for some typing. My hand’s still not where it needs to be, but I’m seeing steady progress.

Read the girls this book.

Anthony! Curry! Bike! 8.31.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:33 pm

I studied Spanish this morning and did my brain training this evening.

The flowers continue to grow which is cool.

I had a good time at Stone Mountain. Had a great chat with my buddy Anthony.

I see this gaggle of geese that’s hanging out in our neighborhood now. That’s always fun.

I was in cooking curry mode. I was ready to get the potatoes going and I saw that they had gone bad. So I had to go by the grocery store and get some more.

Chopped them up, made the masala, and cooked the curry. It was excellent.

It was a hot day. I don’t recall many days where the humidity is 100% like it was earlier today. When I rode my bike, it only “felt like a sauna.”

I rode my bike 9.88 miles. It was a hard ride in that heat.

I saw this hornet on the pavement. I’ve never seen anything like it. I wondered if it was one of those murder hornets!

Rained about a half inch yesterday.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “ER.” It’s excellent.

Looking forward to having the grand girls with me tomorrow.

Videos! Podcast! Bike! 8.30.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:06 pm

One of the apps I use every day is called Sleep Cycle. It tracks the amount of sleep I get every night. It’s funny because it can be a placebo or a nocebo. If I sleep and it says I only got five hours of sleep it seems like I’ll immediately get tired! It’s rare for me to get 100% like I did last night.

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

I also watched some of my telenovela in Spanish called La Reina del Sur.

I went to Stone Mountain to do some recording. Recorded a new podcast Verbal Surgery. “Ladder Truck” has some fun stories!

Also did a series of videos for friends as well as a promo video for a conference that I’ll be doing over the Internet for my Brazilian fans. Hundreds of people participate in that so it’s a lot of fun.

Had a good talk with Anthony and some friends of his and his family.

The flowers continue to grow. I wish the grandgirls could see them live but taking pictures is a good substitute.

I rode my bike 15.24 miles.

My weather app said it felt like 99°. Even on a bike it was hot and I sweated a lot.

I went through all of my scripture memory and poems that I know. It usually takes a little over an hour to do all that quotation.

I pumped my bike tires up before I left.

I had a dream last night about finding two baby copperhead snakes. I had the girls and some kids from school and I made sure they were safe. It was interesting because a possum was attacking the copperhead and eating it. Possums are immune to snake venom as long as the snake’s not super big. I saw a snake today on my ride that looked almost exactly like this one, but it’s not a copperhead.

The last few times I’ve ridden my bike I’ve seen photographs on the ground although most of them we’re upside down. Today, I flipped them over and took a series of pictures. It was interesting to see snap shots of someone’s life that for some reason had been discarded.

Beautiful clouds today.

I got home just as the rain started.

The seeds that the girls and I planted started to sprout.

Had a good talk with my buddy Anthony.

Rode my bike 15.30 miles.

Listened to radio from Madrid.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery call “Pay Intention.” Productive day.

Grandgirls! Chores! Bike! 7.28.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:02 pm

Rained nearly .5″ last night.

Have a good day with the grand girls! Fun to see Ashley this morning.

Picked them up at Global Mall.

Got some gas on the way home.

Vacuumed the house.

The girls helped me clean the birdfeeders and put fresh nectar out for the hummingbirds.

Broke my longest streak on Duolingo. I’m at 283 days today.

Flower seeds started to grow. Look forward to seeing how they’ll do.

Rode my bike 5.92 miles.

Listened to radio from Madrid and Harry Potter in Spanish. It’s sprinkled on me the entire way so I just had a short ride.
