Wire! Dentist! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:47 pm

I’ve had fun building mobiles out of wire and aluminum. It’s been interesting to put the pieces together.

I use gloves when I’m cutting the metal sheeting. I’m using the thin aluminum from dryer vents.
d
v

Punch a hole through it.
p

Put a jump clip on it.

s

Thursday morning I went to the dentist. I had the back part of a tooth break off. He said it was structurally sound and not to worry about it. Amazing.
D

Did the carpets today. My back is feeling it.
c

I think they look better.

Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission.

Cold! J&K! Carpet! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:25 pm

Another cold spell. Yow!
1
Spent time on the phone with Geico today. Changed a few things on our policy. Seems like they’re having a hard time figuring it out. Think we’re good to go now.

Ate lunch with Kathy and Jesse. Always fun.
k
Went to Walmart to pick up some supplies for the mobiles I’m building.
s
b

I’ve had fun thinking about balance and mobility.
c

I’m connecting jump rings to swivels.
s

Scrubbed the carpet with OxiClean.
o
w

I put my phone in the picture to help me track the time it was taking me to do each section. Hard work, yo.
s

Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission.
s
s

I let them make some craft projects.
c

My shoe had a blow out while I was working with the carpet.
s

I gave it the hot glue treatment. We’ll see how it goes. I’m not optimistic.

Plus I fell in them today. The heel is completely smooth. Bam, on the floor in the kitchen. So maybe, just maybe, it’s time for new shoes.

Art! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:42 pm

Enjoyed lunch with Kathy today! I haven’t seen a lot of her since I’ve been sick. I’ve tried to stay to myself. Glad I’m feeling better!

Had fun going to Lowes and picking up a few more supplies. I’ll looking forward to seeing how easy it is to weld metals together.
w

Enjoyed working at the mission with the kids!

“PROfrontation!” is the title! Click on it and stop confronting people—PROFONT them!

Enjoyed spending time with Jesse. He got a flu shot. Looks pretty good in short sleeves, right?
s

Did the grocery shopping.
g
Cleaned windows.
s

Rewired my stereo system so I get Dolby 5.1 surround sound again.
s

Repainted a wind chime.
w

Also worked on an art project.
s

I’m playing around with mobiles and things that spin in the wind. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to build something like this? My grandfather was an expert wielder.
h

Always happiest when I’m working on a project.

Writing! Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North West!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:45 pm

Did some creative writing this weekend. Posted onto my Twitter feed. It’s automated so it posts five new tweets a day starting hourly from 7pm.
w
Over 84,000 followers @timacummins.

This morning, Kathy and I picked up Ashley on the way to the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North West.
a

Ashley and I spoke to the College and Career class.
c
d

Then we preached to the English congregation.
d
I gave my Lost and Found sermon about the Prodigal Son and one of the girls that went missing at Azalea. I think I did a good job. Ashley also spoke to the group about coming and working with us. I enjoyed being with them.
a
d

Met up with Jesse to eat at Piccadilly.

Came home and did yard work. Broke up some trees and moved them.

Flew my AR Drone around in the yard.

Redid the windmills in my back yard.

Sickish! J! Her!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:53 pm

Still not feeling up to speed. Little stuffy nose, clogged feeling ears and tired. Slept eleven hours last night.

Met up with Jesse!
j
We ate at Red Robin then went to check out books at Barnes and Noble.
j
I looked through books, saw recommendations and then put them on the Kindle app on my iPhone. So I read my phone. Ending up downloading Conversational Intelligence by Judith Glaser.

Then went to see Her.
w
Interesting take on artificial intelligence. I sure don’t feel about Windows 7 like he did for his AI girlfriend. (See note below.)

Home now for admin duties and rest.

Trying to edit video. When I had Windows 7 updated it broke my editing software which Avid no longer supports. I’m downloading a slightly different version of it so I hope it’ll work.

This sums up America.
e
I really enjoyed this cheese cake at Red Robin.

VA Tech! Madina! Global Mall!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:26 pm

Ashley and I had a fun time briefing the team on Islam and Hinduism today.
a
t
It was our last day with the team from Virginia Tech. We had a great time of prayer together.

Took them to visit Madina and see a N. African store.
x
d
s
I thought these goat skins were cool.
g

And to Global Mall to visit with our Hindu friends.
g
s
s
One of the owners of a store there gave ALL the girls in the group some bangles. People are so kind to us.
b
s
One of the girls had a bad sinus infection. We took her to our emergency doctor in the area. He gave her several shots and loaded her up with pills. She was feeling a LOT better a few hours later. AMEN!

One of the vehicles of the team had a problem. Neighbors came to help. Got the car to the mechanic around 4:30 pm. They had the car fixed before 6pm! That’s a miracle!

Even when bad things happen, God fixes us up!

Mission was packed with kids today.
n
b
s

The team did a great job telling the Bible story.
t

We installed some new plugs and light switches in Jesse’s room at the mission at Azalea. The mission really looks great after the new paint job.

After they left, I vacuumed the mission and straightened up. I like to leave it nice for Jesse. Just seems the right thing to do.

Got home around 8:30pm. Still not feeling great.

I can rest tomorrow and Saturday. I’ll be preaching at the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church in Marietta on Sunday. Looking forward to that.

Admin duties now. That also includes working on the video for the team.

We showed them CD Tower, Pho Da and Sweet Hut in Asian Square on Buford Highway.
s
s
After lunch, the team worked on decorating bags with John 3:16 and hearts for a Valentine outreach.
t

Ashley and I check on paint supplies and figured out how much we’d need to do the project.

They’re working on the mission at Huntington Terraces and finishing up at the mission at Azalea.

I met with a roofer this evening at my house. I have a section of my roof that needs repair.

Feeling a little bit under the weather. Scratchy throat, kinda tired.

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:34 pm

Ashley and I had a great time briefing the team from Virginia Tech this morning.
a
t

They’re a great team! And it’s so much fun working with Ashley!
s

Took them to see the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s
t

Always something new and interesting to see.
s

We ate lunch there.
l
Then went to the missions. I took my team to Azalea and Ashley took her team to Huntington Terraces to help our friend Bayo.

My group painted the main room, one bed room and the hall at the mission. Twelve people can sure do a lot of work in a hurry. Tomorrow they’ll finish up the kitchen area and paint the other bathroom.

p

Turned out looking really good.

m
s
d
They had a great time helping the kids with their homework.
d
k
d
Then told them the story of David and Goliath. I shot some great video. They were very dramatic.
d
c

Home now working on admin duties.

Fun day.

NAMB! Computer! Internet!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:46 pm

Wow. I’ve really had a lot of computer and Internet problems. I think I have it squared away now! AMEN!

Enjoyed talking with my friend Mike Riggins at the North American Mission Board. I got some clarifications about the new monthly payroll change. Comes down to lack of manpower. In the last ten years personnel at NAMB has gone done from 300 to around 100. I certainly understand having to do more with less.

I had fun working at the mission with the kids. Lot today. But not much homework.
t
a

Rainy weather.

Supposed to be better tomorrow. I hope so since we have a team from VA Tech on the scene starting tomorrow.

Are you smarter than a second grader?
