Monday morning Kathy woke me up at 6am to tell me that Jesse wasn’t doing well. I jumped out of bed, quickly packed a few things and was at Tybee Island by 11am.

Ashley and I got him to the hospital where they kept him for observation for a couple of days.

He’s back to 100%! Visiting hours were only in the evening so got to visit a few of my favorite places in Savannah.

Beautiful flowers on the beach.

Went to Bonaventure Cemetery to visit my grave. One day my kids will put my ashes under those big oaks.


It always reminds me of my mortality and to make every day count. Carpe diem! It’s my favorite cemetery in the world.

I spent a lot of time at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Savannah.

I found it to be such a beautiful and peaceful place to pray for Jesse. I love the stained glass windows!

I always light a candle.

Last time I did that I was in Westminster Abbey in London!

I enjoy shooting pictures around Savannah.

I picked Jesse up from the hospital around 5pm. We ate a quick supper and headed back to Atlanta. GREAT to be home with my family safe and secure! Amen!

I thought this movie was pretty funny.

I picked up this rock near river street. It’s part of a much larger rock that was brought from England to be used as ballast for the ship!

The cobblestone streets are awesome. History under foot. Ben Franklin and George Washington might have stepped on this rock!

Kathy and I sent to First Baptist Church Doraville this morning. I was the guest speaker.

Ate fish with K at Piccadilly.

Home now to rest and work on admin duties.

K and I had a fun time with the group from Christ Community Church.

They’ve come to help at Forest Dale. Excellent!

Went to Walgreens for our annual flu shot.

Came home to rest and prepare for my sermon tomorrow at FBC Doraville.

Also vacuumed the rooms.

And cleaned my fish tank. It’s still stirred up here.

I went to see Kick Ass 2 this afternoon. I thought it was pretty good. Kinda silly. I liked the fight scenes.

Ate at Hot and Cold Buffet. It was really tasty.

Came home to rest and enjoy watching shows with K.

Went for a 2.60 mile run this morning. Warmish. GREAT to see blue skies again!

Always something new and beautiful to see.

Looked like some car went off the road.

I saw this sign near Thai of Norcross where J and I went for lunch.


Also this little guy was about the size of my hand and very shy.

This morning Jesse and I went to Norcross to meet up with our partners in the area. We are planning on starting a mission at Forest Vale.

Then over to the mission to work with the kids! Always entertaining.

Tremendous thunderstorm and torrential rain at the mission. Of course some of the kids have the compulsion to run around in it.

Had supper at Pizza Cafe with K and J! Fun!

Can you believe it? MORE rain? We’ve had over 2″ in the last two days. Lots of thunder today too.


Wrote my newsletter for this month. Also printed up the labels for the envelopes.

Enjoyed lunch with Jesse and Kathy.

Our friends at the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association printed the newsletters for us. Thanks, Joel! The kids helped us put the labels on the letters.

Then we helped the kids with their homework.


I taught Adit how to use a ball pump.

Had fun watching the new episodes of Suits and Duck Dynasty with K.

This morning I worked some more on my life insurance policy. Got it all ready to send off.

Had lunch at Waffle House with J. Then spent about an hour with him practicing driving a manual transmission. He’s getting the hang of it!

Kathy had some problems with the van, so I helped her take it over to the mechanics. Found out that the battery wasn’t charging properly.

J and I met up with Ashley at the mission. BIG group of kids there this afternoon. Always fun.


Enjoyed supper with my kids this evening before going home and picking up the van so K can use it to drive to Clarkston tomorrow to work with the babies.

Had fun watching a recorded episode of Elementary and Duck Dynasty with Kathy this evening.

Spent time today working on estimates for repairing Ashley’s car. Sadly, they were between $4,000-$6,000. Ouch. Her car had over 100,000 miles on her. All of the pros felt it wasn’t worth sinking that kind of money in her.

So we took her to the car graveyard.

Sad. But the main thing is that Ashley is OK! Cars come and go. It’s sad, but that’s just the way it is.

Enjoyed a fun meal with all my kids this evening at Cafe Istanbul. Great company. Awesome chilluns.

Watched Kardashians with K this evening. She had a great day with her refugee babies this morning. She’s happy about that!

I had a nice 3 mile walk today. Enjoyed seeing the sprouting mushrooms.

Baby rose.

This afternoon I went to Lowes to pick up a new water hose and spray nozzle. This is where houses are born.

Gave myself a haircut. I’ve been letting it grow out. Got tired of that.

Went to a birthday party for my niece Katie this evening.

Another nice cool and rainy day.

Kathy goes back to work with her refugee babies in Clarkston tomorrow.

Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team from McDonough, GA this morning!

Then to the Buford Highway Farmers Market. FUN!



Best part of the day was working with the team from Foothills Baptist Church in Marble Hill, GA! Even though the weather was rainy and actually cool, we still had kids show up.

Ash and I stopped at Lowes to pick up a part for the sink near my office. Someone broke the other one. Still not sure how that’s even possible!

On the way home, Ashley’s rear tire on her Mustang picked up a nail.

Within ten minutes, there was hardly any air in the tire. Going around a corner, she applied the brakes and on the rain soaked highway her car started to fishtail out of control. She hit the brakes harder which sent her slamming into the guard rail. WOW!


She called me pretty shaken up, but was unharmed. Thank you JESUS! If she would have lost control of the car on the main highway it could have been really bad.

In the hour we waited for the tow truck we saw at LEAST ten wrecks of cars going around that same corner. Unbelievable. One of the cars actually slid out of control and went up into the median.

it was sad to see our “Little Red Pony” get towed off. But Ashley is Ok and really that’s all that matters. She may be sore in the morning from the air bags that hit her face. We’ll see. Please pray for her!

We planned on having the car towed to a repair shop, but they were all closed. So we took it to her house in Clarkston instead. Hopefully, we’ll get an estimate on how much to fix and it won’t be TOO expensive. The guy that towed it said that the frame wasn’t bent but the hood and both side panels will have to be replaced.
