FBC Prattville!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:53 pm

Ashley and I had fun working with the teams today!
a
t
g

We gave our main briefing to our team from Prattville, AL!

Then shared about Islam and Hinduism to both teams.
h
i
i

I took the Prattville team by bus to Global Mall to visit the Shiva Mandir–Hindu temple.
s

Then downstairs to enjoy Ashiana’s Indian food. I thought it was fabulous. Many of the junior high kids were less impressed. Kind of made me sad.

Then took them to Al Madina to see the Islamic bookstore and grocery store.
d

Back to Doraville to work at six missions around the International Village.

Helped the bus make sure he knew how to get the kids and drop them off at each of their locations.

Had a great block party at Huntington Creek this evening. I thought they really did a great job.

FBC Agricola to Asian Square!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:21 pm

Ashley and I gave our briefing on Buddhism to our team from Agricola, MS. a a t a Then took them on a tour of CD Tower, Hoa Da Pharmacy and Hong Kong Bakery. Fascinating! w w e b I thought this cobra in a jar was uber. c We had Vietnamese sandwiches from Quoc Hong at FBC Doraville for lunch. Then covered the eight locations around the International Village. s t s e Ashley and I did a recon on Cumberland Court as to where to do the concert and find power for the band. Always takes time! s We also checked on our team from the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church North who is working at Azalea with OUR kids! c
s
j

Set up the band’s equipment and made sure everything was working great. e Then did a recon of the six locations that the new group will be working with tomorrow. We always have to do a drive through just to make sure that we know that the bus can make the route and that there won’t be any surprises: like where will he turn the bus around. It’s a tricky thing! m Had a nice supper with Ashley before going home to work on admin duties. Involves going through all my email, uploading all the photos/video I shot today onto my hard drive and to our server on line. Writing this blog and posting the pictures of the team on Facebook. All part of our A+ service! e

Jesse! Mushroom! Antiques! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:50 pm

Rained about 1/2″ last night.
r

Jesse and I had a fun day together!
j
We ate lunch then went to Walmart to pick up some supplies. He got into some poison ivy, so we got some meds for that.

Came home to work on our Blue Oyster Mushroom project. Yesterday, I drilled holes into an oak tree that is just about dead. I actually thought it was dead, until I noticed three little leaves.
t
d
h

Today we pounded the little dowels filled with mycellium into the holes I’d drilled.
d
d

Then we covered the holes with wax to keep the integrity of the tree intact.
e
w

I rested for a while, then went to Azalea to prep the mission for the team coming from the Atlanta Chinese Christian Church today.
a

Also went by an antique store in Chamblee called Rust and Dust. Our little town is known for having a lot of antique places.

s
f

The top hat almost fits!
t

What a happy, carefree woman.
w

I picked up this camera from around 1914 for $24.00. I think it looks super cool. Sure is a big difference from my Canon Elph!
c

Came home to run 2.63 miles. It was nice and cool this evening.

Looking forward to spending time with K tonight. Jesse is with friends in Chamblee.

Beautiful flowers in the area!

Sandy Springs! Recon!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:09 pm

I worked on writing and producing my newsletter this morning.
n
n
Got it done and sent off to my partner Joel Harrison in the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association. We appreciate him printing our newsletter SO much!

Had a fun day with Ashley today!
a

We worked in the Sandy Springs area. Went to four different apartment complexes to let the managers know we had teams coming by.

It’s like cold calling most of the time because there is such turnover in the apartment industry. We usually have to introduce ourselves as well as explain what we’ll be doing.
a
s

Ashley made some new cards to give to the managers to remind them when the teams will be coming.
a

She’s awesome!!
a

Dropped by Walmart to pick up more envelopes for the newsletter.
e

We also went by several complexes in the Norcross and Doraville areas.

We think it’s all set up! That’s always a good feeling.

I’ll have a restful weekend. Ashley and Miles will be going to Kentucky for a missions conference. Pray for their safe travels.

Admin duties now.

Look forward to time with Kathy this evening.

More beautiful flowers!

Worked on writing checks today for bills. Also printed up the labels for our newsletters.
e
l
Ashley and I did a recon of the apartments where we’ll have teams next week.
t
b
w

We hand them a little card with info on it.
i

Tomorrow we’ll recon the area around Sandy Springs and Peachtree Industrial for our big teams in June.

I liked these baby geese! They look like dinosaurs. Where do you think birds came from?!
g
g

The kids at Azalea helped us do the labels.
l
m

Then enjoyed doughnuts as a treat.
d
j
g

Went for a 2.70 mile run this evening. I thought the flowers were beautiful. Plus, gives me a reason to stop!

Podcast! Norcross Recon!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:29 pm

Had a fun day today!
t
Recorded a new podcast!
p
Two days in a row! I’ve found it’s best that when I have the time USE IT!
p

Next week starts the Summer Teams. Not sure how much time I’ll have then.

This was a fun episode. Use more of your mind in powerful ways. Check out “Depth Artist.” CLick on the title and groove!

The whole family joined Ashley and I as we did a recon of the apartments in the Norcross area. We’re trying to stay ahead of the curve as we plan for the biggest weeks in the Summer.
a

We visited six different apartment complexes. We determined the best four for the teams to work in during the week in June.
f
s
l
c

Also got to visit with Cornelia Harrell the director for the mission at Legacy Commons.

We met with the managers, let them know when the teams were coming and what they’ll be doing.

Uploaded the pictures and made several new galleries to reflect the new mission locations or name changes.

Came home to work on admin duties.

Had a good talk with my parents on our way home from Norcross. Mom has gone through 9 of the 50 radiation treatments so far. She’s feeling great!

I went through the “Time Capsule” today. That’s what we call our basement area where we’ve stored about a hundred boxes of stuff from years back. I was trying to find a small box of coins. Never did put my hands on that, but did discover other cool things including old photo albums and tie tacks that my Grandfather gave me. One of them had a lion claw on it. Yow!

Podcast! Writing! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:07 pm

Nearly 2.5″ of rain yesterday. Excellent!
r

Had a fun morning working on a new podcast!
t
I always enjoy talking to myself!
p
This is one of my best efforts. It’s called“INpossible!” Click on the title and find out where the future is headed!
r

I also spent some time posting my creative writing onto my Twitter feed. I have over 84,000 followers.
t
Jesse told me this morning that I have posted over 8,000 of my proverbs! WOW! I’m a prolific piece of business!

K and I had lunch together. I always enjoy that.

Got gas in my car. Prices seem to be creeping up.

g

Went to the mission with Ashley and Jesse. No real homework, but still good to hang out with the kids.
m
a

Jesse worked with Rashawn on computer stuff.
r

Cooked hotdogs for the kids.
h

Also stopped by Walmart to pick up a ream of paper for my friends at the office at FBC Doraville. They helped us with a project recently.

Home now to work on admin duties.

I thought this truck was super long!
tr

This was an interesting warning sticker.

Kathy and I had a good time at CIBC this morning.

c

Pastor Phil was with his family at his daughter’s graduation. Music was good and Kevin spoke about hope from Titus.
m

We ate at Piccadilly then came home.

Enjoyed talking to J this afternoon. Then had a nice rest.

Admin duties now.
