I had a shorter walk because I took J to the doctor.

We went to the ear doctor this morning to get final word about her implant. Looks like we’re good to go on June the 22nd at 7:00 AM!

This device will be implanted under the scalp of J’s skull.

Emailed the ear doctor’s appointment manager to schedule the operation. It should take about an hour for the procedure. She’ll wake up after the anesthesia and we’ll take her home to recover.

Also called J’s arthritis doctor about one of her meds.

Checking on the dates of the teams. Looks like we have three coming so far.

Penelope graduated from 1st grade today and won the Principal’s List for the Year award.

On my last trip, my luggage busted. Finally got a replacement this morning. Great deal since I bought it Used Like New from Amazon.

I walked up and down my hill for thirty minutes while I studied Spanish. Can you tell which way is up and which way is down? It was a challenging walk.

Deposited a check.

Returned a package to Amazon at the UPS store.

Gassed up my car and checked the oil.

The board that anchors my mailbox to the stand has broken. Went to a job site to see if any pieces might work.

I didn’t find any that really fit. Went to Lowes and they had precut pieces for the job. Amen.

I painted it. I’ll install it tomorrow.

Kathy came with me to be with the girls. We picked them up at the bus. Everly was upset that she didn’t get a trophy like her sister. I took her to the Dollar Tree to get some art supplies. That always makes her happy. Helped the kids at the mission.

They always enjoy playing with their Dad.

Kathy and I went to my office to check the mail. I noticed this post had been hit.

I talked with one of my Middle School kids yesterday. She told me she was still having some homework. I was totally unaware of that! NONE of the elementary kids have homework any more. Helped them out with it.

Walked 1.73 miles. I do Spanish exercises while I get exercise. This is a big hill. Extra hard on my bike.

Rode my bike 10.23 miles. Broke a bunch of branches today to clear the path. One section is loaded with poison ivy. I’ll go another way. I’m sure not messing with that!

One of the people I’m competing with this week hit a 3,000 day streak. Wow.

I ran out of baby powder. The kind I use is primarily corn starch. I decide to save money and just go straight for the corn starch instead of the baby powder.

I’ve started listening to a podcast that is done primarily by Mexicans living in the USA now. This one is hugely popular. I’m working on copying the accent.

Biked 7.92 miles.

Cleared some branches out of the way of the sidewalk.

Got pretty warm today. Never did rain on me.

Got my replacement shades on.

Ate at Taco Veloz. Read an article on immigration from the BBC Spanish website.

Took Penelope and Everly to the Brook Run aka Monkey Bar Park in Dunwoody.

Went to my office to pick up and process checks. Deposited them on the way home.

Pushed my way to the top. The lady currently in third place will probably win this week. At least according the effort she put in last week!

I got to fly one of these once when I worked in news in Savannah.

The little loop by the healing hands graphic is where we got stuck on the highway yesterday and I drove across the median to go another direction.

I’ve been looking into suitcases. My old one is broken.

Walked 1.77 miles. Penelope and Everly came with me. Pretty long walk for those little sweethearts.

The girls helped me clean the doors.

Miles and Ashley came and got them this morning. They enjoyed showing their Mom the things they’d made for her.

Worked on one of my map jackets. The sleeve had torn away from the cuff.

Sewed a pocket.

Checked out some chargers and cords for my sister-in-law. All the cords were dead.

Charger was . . . you guessed it.

I rested after lunch and was planning to ride my bike, but it rained and I couldn’t. I was pretty tired anyway.

I watched a video by a Spanish teacher. He talked about using a lot of media for your target language AND the area that you’re going to. I usually listen to just Spanish from Spain. I’ve got another podcast that I’ll be listening to which is from a Mexican podcaster.

This one is super popular.

I’ll come in #2 this week, exactly what I said would happen on Tuesday.

Goodwill is always fun.

Went to Evergreen to swim. The girls have fun on the treadmills.

German bakery was good. Service was really slow.

Bad wreck on the access road to 78. Three fire trucks and an ambulance. Car was on fire. I drove across the median to get around it. First time I’ve ever done that. We just happened to be a good place for it.

Post swim job.

I was afraid to get rained on so I “just” walked up and down my hill. I think around 15 times. And my hill is STEEP. So good exercise. I actually jogged up the hill the last time because it started raining.

I finally got together with my buddy Jon Paul today. We usually have lunch about once a month. He’s had some physical challenges and it’s been about three months or so. We had a great time yakking.

I like this one too. It’s not really just one guy but a whole team that does stuff.
Plus a lot of call in folks.

So many meanings with some of these words.

It kept missing us.

We enjoyed the pool at the park. The inside pool was warmer today. It was way easier for me to watch the girls inside. The shape of the outside pool is hard to tell where it gets too deep for them.

I took the girls to Metro Cafe after the swim. K met us there. Perfect timing.

My view on my walk.

Over 1.25 miles more than I regularly do.

Kathy told me that her sister’s phone wasn’t charging. She went over to Ann’s house and brought it back for me to look at along with the cable and charger. Cleaned everything with alcohol. Took the phone case apart. Cleaned all the insides. Charged the phone up with one of a chargers and cords. Put a new screen protector on it. K will take it back to her tomorrow along with one of my cables and chargers that I know work.

The Mountain Park Aquatic Center opens up on May 27th. That’ll be fun for the girls. I’ll probably get another set of annual passes for them as well. I already have mine.

I found this interesting. I almost always use aqui. The interview I listened to last night pretty much only used acá.

I like this podcast the best.

This one talks about sports. That doesn’t interest me very much, but there are a lot of people that talk on the show so it’s good for picking out words from different accents.

K and I had a fun time with PE at their house today. Everly had a friend over. P hung out with K. I went to Walmart to pick up some supplies for one of the kids.

This is how I think the end of the week will look. I’ll probably end up with about 14,000.

Went to Depilex Asethetics in Lawrenceville this morning for J’s laser hair removal.
It was her last one.

I had a fun chat with my buddy Anthony. He’s one of J’s good friends too.

I was supposed to have lunch with my buddy Jon today, but the wifi installation crew were late and took forever. Moved to Friday.

Sometimes the Ser app doesn’t work and I can’t listen to podcasts from Spain. I usually go to Radio Garden and use the live internet radio app.

My pink magnolia tree at Azalea was hit with a fungus. I got the dawa for it and carefully applied the fungicide to every leaf surface. It has worked great for the plants at my house.

It was probably pretty stupid to rub it in with my bare hands, but I washed my hands over and over again afterwards for safety.

Later the Ser app worked. I listened to this podcast.

Picked the girls up at the bus. Took them swimming at Stone Mountain.

Came home to spend some time with K.

Post pool dry out. First time they didn’t use the floaties.
