Rest.

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:55 pm

Spent most of the day resting. Woke up with a sore throat.

I’d planned on exercising, but I felt it was better to rest.
t
This afternoon I walked over to where they had cut down a dead tree. Big one!

Logistics and Azalea

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:13 pm

Tracking down stuff for the Outreach Events this weekend. Got more candy and balloons with pumps.

b
Made sure we have plenty of face paint. I’ll get all the food together on Friday and pack the car.

Jesse and I went to Azalea to check on the kids.

j
It’s a real case of hide and seek when we’re trying to leave. They hide in every little cubby hole possible. Not much homework today.
b

The boys are playing video games. Their grades are better!

I’m looking forward to having most of the day tomorrow to rest. I get worn out every year around this time.

NAMB! FBA!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:04 am

This morning I picked up Eduardo and Sheila Zamora from their apartment at Huntington Ridge.
z

They are doing some wonderful missionary work at that location.

I enjoyed the group of candidates at the North American Mission Board! It was good to see my friend Mike Riggins. He’s been a huge supporter of our work.
m

It was a special blessing also because I got to see my dear friends Jon and Priscilla Sapp. They’re back in the USA now.

We worked together in Kenya in the mid-90s.

I went and checked on the kids at the mission.
jjm

I didn’t get to stay as long as usual because of the conference at First Baptist Atlanta.
z

I met Bayo at FBA. Ashley came too! Never too much Ashley!

The service this evening was really inspiring about work in Kosovo (the world’s youngest country) and Papau, New Guinea.

This tree was almost looked like it was on fire. Awesome colors.

Friendly Village and First Baptist Atlanta

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:31 pm

Had a busy day today!

Jesse and I went up past Duluth to let the new manager of the Mobile Home Park about the Outreach Event this coming Saturday.

I went in the office and I hear Spanish. But Spanish that sounded different. And some of it wasn’t conjugated correctly. I looked at the manager, who looks kind of Latino, and wondered. The lady is trying to explain something to him. After a while I just said in English, “She making sure that she has to pay a late fee if it is after the 5th.”

“OH!” he said, grateful for any help.

Honestly I thought he was doing really well. I know I make all kinds of mistakes. I’m sure I make up words all the time.

So when it was my time to talk with him, he was grateful and very excited about having the team on the property this weekend. GREAT!
f
The complex is called Friendly Village. Dig it.

Unfortunately, we never could catch up with Marco. Bahd luck. He’ll take care of letting the folks at The Falls know about the party.

We went to Azalea to check on the kids. Lots of homework.
t

j
It was great to see Jouvens this afternoon.
j

I don’t see him nearly enough. He’s working a lot at the Dollar Store. He’s being considered for Assistant Manager of the store. I think that’s great!

I dropped Jesse off at the church and went to pick up Bayo Otiti from Huntington Terraces.
b

f
We went together to First Baptist Atlanta. It’s always such a treat to see your friends again.

I thought this was interesting.
m

The colors on the trees are incredible.
t

On the way home I saw the Tornado Bus. We had some good times on that bus.
b

I showed the Jesus Film in Spanish a bunch of times on that bus!

Partners & Willow Branch

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:34 pm

This morning Jesse and I had a great meeting with many of my partners in the Chamblee/Doraville area. This is where I first started my ministry in Atlanta and has the highest concentration of our missions. It was awesome to see my friends.

We went to Bayo’s place after the meeting. I took pictures of the service project we need to do there.
f
J and I then went to Clarkston to work with the refugee kids and hang out with Bennett.
b

Came home in the dark. Ran 4 miles.

FBC Duluth & Tito’s Ordination

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:45 pm

This morning I enjoyed preaching at First Baptist Church of Duluth.
t

They’re a great group! I had a terrific time with their deacons earlier this year. It was good to hang out with the whole church.

I did my Take You To Cambodia presentation. They seemed to get into it.

Ate lunch with two friends of mine from my youth in Kenya: Tom and Nancy Jones.
u

His son Tom Jr. was also there with his wife Laura.

I came home and rested briefly, then Kathy and I went to Stone Mill Church for Tito Ruiz’s ordination. I spoke a few minutes. I sure am proud of what Tito has accomplished. Great wife and family. Great church!
