BBall! Super Computers! Missions!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:56 pm

This morning I worked on logistics for the mission trip that my Folks are doing next week here with us. They’re bringing a team from Texas. Can’t wait to have them on the field with us!
f

Went by the Post Office. I liked the Oklahoma license plate I saw in the parking lot.
o

Jesse and I took care of some errands today, including buying a new basketball goal for the mission at Azalea. They get worn out about once a year.
g
I was glad to have Gregorio, one of the dads, put it together for me. Miguel, one of my young men also helped. He’s put together about five of them over the years!

We went to Azalea to help the kids with their homework. We’ve really been swamped. We stayed there till about 7:30 tonight making sure everyone got it done.

m
s

Jesse has been doing work writing code. I’m always glad to help him progress in that! He wants to put together a cluster of computers. Sort of like a home grown supercomputer to help him with his research into artificial intelligence, or “Swarm Intelligence.” Fascinating stuff!
t
We went to IKEA to buy these special drawers that he can build the components into.
d

His room already looks like NASA so I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with!
i
I liked going downtown again!
a
b

We got home late.

Watched the season finale of Blue Collar, one of my favorite shows.

Been working on admin duties!

Don’t know why I found this sign funny.
t

The quote, “Never the twain shall meet,” came into my head. I figured this is where they met.

Dirty Diamonds! Serve!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:05 pm

I’m not sure if you’ve ever listened to any of my podcasts. I think they’re some of my best work!

I especially like “Dirty Diamonds.” Give it a test ride!

And probably the most important piece I’ve produced. The secret to happiness!
“Serve!”

I hope they help you have a terrific day!

Love y’all!

Soccer! Podcasts! RESToration!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:40 pm

This morning Kathy and I went to see Sarah Doverspike play in the State championship of their soccer league.
s
It was a very exciting game that unfortunately they lost in a shoot out 3-2. Can’t get any closer than that!

The best part was getting to see my brother and sister in law David and Debi Doverspike.

I really like David’s new truck!
d
Had a restful afternoon. I’ve been enjoying reading the Human Givens.

Plus produced two new podcasts! I always have fun doing that! Here are the tweets I worked on this week. The podcasts are based on those.
t

I liked this page from Wired magazine.
w

And this beautiful orchid! Phaelonopsis!
o

Nice restful day. Looking forward to seeing the kids tomorrow!

CIBC! Crazy Ron!

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:22 pm

This morning Ashley and I went to Clarkston International Bible Church.
t

Pastor Phil spoke on the Pearl of Great Price. Who do you think that is?
p
c
c
Later we chowed down on Crazy Ron’s BBQ! Yumbo!
c
r
Love that smoky taste!
s
Enjoying a restful afternoon. Plan on running later.

Love shadow shots.

s

And this combo: Jewish Fish.

Cirrus! Downtown! Dali!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:07 pm

Had a fun day!
t
Went downtown to see the Dali exhibit at the High Museum in Atlanta!
d
Not sure if you enjoy his work but many of his paintings are on my favorites list.
h
On the way downtown, I was struck by the wispy Cirrus clouds. Fantastic formations.
c
cc

Made it downtown just fine and really enjoyed walking around the city looking at the fantastic buildings and enjoying the cooler air.

bb

The Dali exhibit was incredible.
d

My all time favorite is his “melting clocks” picture which is called the Persistence of Memory. I saw that earlier this year in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
p
But his St. John on the Cross was there as well as many of his sketches.
d
I went to the exhibit with brother in law Bill Doverspike and his girlfriend Deborah. It was fun hanging out with them too!
b
On the way home, I stopped at Best Buy to purchase a flash drive for a computer project that Jesse is working on. 8 Gigabytes for $19! That’s amazing.
u

I remember a time years ago when I thought, “A gigabyte! I couldn’t use that up in my whole life!” HA! I have over a Terabyte of video on one expansion hard drive that I’ve shot!

Back home now, finishing up my admin work. Looking forward to a relaxing evening. Awesome day!

Admin! Hummingbirds!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:28 pm

This morning I worked on admin duties. Always plenty of email!
e
Also went for a 4 mile run. Not too hot!

Had a good lunch with Jesse. Never too much J!

This afternoon I worked on my hummingbird feeders. I enjoy watching the birds. They bring me joy!

About once a month I have to bleach them out because they start getting moldy.
h

This one is my favorite. I watch the birds fly in while I’m in bed.
f
I hang them from wires between trees. I had to rehang one of the wires today.
b
Also worked on scrubbing the carpet. Silly pee dog.
ss
c

I also enjoy my Venus Fly Traps.

Podcast! Computer!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:13 pm

This morning I worked on a new podcast: Just ASK!

t
One of my best.

Had lunch with Kathy, J and Ashley. Excellent!

Went to a partner of ours Kathy Chang to pick up a computer for the mission. We sure do appreciate that!
k
The kids didn’t have any school tomorrow so we didn’t have the after school program.

Over to FBC Doraville to pick up bills, check on the office and go through the gear we have to see if we could come up with a set of computer speakers for H. Terraces. I’ve found several. Just can’t find the power supplies. I’ll keep looking!

Went over to Best Buy. Kathy’s camera has stopped functioning so Ashley gave her hers and I’ll get her another one. Unfortunately, the camera color she wanted (pink, duh) is only available on line. I’ll have to order it for her.

Picked up the groceries and tried to deposit checks. Stupid ATM wouldn’t accept the checks at this time. Tomorrow!

Came home to put up groceries and work on admin duties!

I thought this was odd. Do you really need a plaque to remind your employees to wash their hands?
p
Kind of an odd bumper sticker.
b
I’m still not sure why they make the icons of people with no necks.
b
Even babies have no necks.

So why do handicapped people have necks?
h

Fat lot of good that wiper is doing, eh?
w
Can you tell what my shirt says?

Financial Report! Computers! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:39 pm

This morning I finished up my financial report and delivered it to my treasurer.
t
f
Then went out for a 4 mile run. Felt great!

Had lunch with Kathy, Ashley and Miles and Jesse.
a
m
Then over to Huntington Terraces to help Bayo with the computers. Got everything pretty much up and running!
c
To the church to check mail. No bills. Amen!

LOTS of kids at Azalea needing help. I was glad that Ms. Linda was there to help us too!
l
j
d
m

I let the kids play games AFTER they’ve finished their work!
g

J and I went with Shimanto to help him buy the things he needs to make his model of a cell. Cheesecake, frosting and about ten different kinds of candy each representing a structure in the cell. Then the kids are supposed to eat the edible cells!

Came home to work on admin duties.

The kids at the mission have Friday and Monday off. I’m glad they have a break!

This morning Kathy was holding Sugar. I thought they were cute!

Norths! Bayo! Computer! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:02 pm

Had a fun day today!
t
J and I had lunch with Ian and Ruthie North and my friend Bayo Otiti.
i
b

Great food at Vikhyat.
v
And great company with some of my favorite people and terrific partners!

After lunch, J and I went to Huntington Terraces to work on the computer over there.
j
Sure is good to have my wingman back who seems to be able to fix just about anything!
c
Also went to my office, where it seems I was locked out! Stupid door handle got messed up somehow.
d
So we had to go to Lowes to pick up another one to replace it.
l

Fortunately, Pastor Bill Kelly was there. He’s also a construction expert, so he helped us swap out the door knob. Sure was glad to see him.

We also received some more school supplies for the Christmas in August program! Had some cute little dolls for some of the girls.
d

Then over to Walmart to pick up some power cords for the Terraces.
c
Then to Azalea to work with the kids. We were swamped with requests for help!
m
Yow!
j

j
We worked for about 2 1/2 hours straight. I’m bushed.
w
Came on home to start on my admin duties. It’s a weigh of life.

Financial report due tomorrow morning. Tag on another couple of hours of work.

Ay, caramba!

Here’s Halloween, just around the corner!
