This morning I worked on admin duties. In particular the financial report I prepare for our treasurer every two weeks. Takes about two hours to knock out. Shows all our expenses, donations, checks I write, stuff like that.
Worked on Tweets! I usually spend about an hour every week coming up with witty sayings that I post during the week. I use an automated service that posts about 8 a day from 5pm to midnight. I recently went over 75,000 followers. I’ve written over 4,000 of these sayings, which I call Verbal Surgery. They’re posted on our website too under Tim’s Proverbs.
After the admin work I needed some exercise. I’m back to my full 4 mile run! It was pretty hot out there. I go slow.
Ate a cheap lunch at Cici’s pizza. I like that place, although the rest of my family doesn’t care for it. I ate by myself around 2:30pm.
Came home and put the finishing touches on my Financial Report. Then worked on adding the last of the video to the Train Forest project. It’s pretty cool. I’m burning a dvd of it now to see how it looks.
Ate supper with Ashley tonight. GREAT to spend time with her.
Beautiful sun set.

Fun day today because I had my WHOLE family with me!
Dropped my car off for an oil change this afternoon.
Spent the morning teaching Ashley the ins and outs of video editing and shooting. I always enjoy sharing a little knowledge.
Had fun with the kids at the mission today. Spent most of my time cleaning up. I don’t keep the place spotless, I get too irritated when they mess it up, which they always do. So I try to keep kind of a middle ground of messy.
Red icee tongue!
Helped Rebaka finish her book report.
Rahul always cracks me up!
Ran 3 miles this afternoon when I got home. Pretty hot.
Admin duties this evening.

I spent most of my morning working on a video I shot for the Children’s Rain Forest in Monteverde.
I’m not sure where you stand on conservation and preserving the Earth, but I’m one of those kind of guys that actually likes to do things.
So I used some of my skills of shooting video/interviewing people that I got from being in the news industry to help preserve a little slice of paradise. The time I spent in the jungle of Costa Rica was precious to me. The closer to nature, the closer to God. I had some wonderful prayer times as I listened to the birds and watched part of what I consider to be the Father’s masterpiece.
This afternoon, Jesse and I went to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.
I spent most of my time with Rebaka from Bangladesh. We worked on her book report “The Kitchen Princess.”
She draws great!
I also enjoy hanging out with Barbara. I helped her come up with sentences about addition. “Addition makes things bigger.”
I was glad to have Linda and Erica’s help with the girls!
J had a good time with the boys outside.
I liked these Batman shoes.
And these bear socks.
I’m a Baylor Bear.
Kathy and I watched “A Good Year” by Ridley Scott this evening. We liked it. Romantic story about the value of life in the slow lane.

This afternoon I spent a good time with Brett Cox! He’s with a partnering church that is mobilizing 11 of their congregation to move to Thailand. They’ve been here for about six months. Their team has been a huge asset to our work here in Atlanta. Bret and his wife Susie did a super job at the Falls helping out our missionary Cathy Wilson.
Ruthie North also had some terrific help from their team for the Refugee Beads ladies. They’ll be missed. I’m sure they’ll have a terrific ministry in Asia!
Came home and worked on editing video. Today I was working through a shoot I did with the Children’s Rain Forest. I think planting trees would be a terrific service project for teams from the States.
Kathy joined Jesse and I at Azalea to help the kids with their homework. I had the good fortune to see a couple of my “old” guys. Jouvens and Miguel are like sons to me. Jouvens is doing great. Ironically, the disaster in Haiti has helped him with his immigration challenges since he holds a Haitian passport. I’m SO glad that is working out.
Miguel’s baby son Angel is still in the hospital. They still are not sure exactly what’s wrong with him. Please pray for baby Angel for a complete diagnosis and recovery soon.
I had my girls practicing subtraction problems. Think this looks hard?
Watched Castle on TV with Kathy this evening.
Then back to my admin duties!
GREAT to see old friends!

This morning Jesse and I got over to the Post Office. I mailed a bunch of stuff from the DVD projects I’ve been working on of the shoots I did in Costa Rica. MANY people were so kind to me! So I shot videos of them and mailed them as a gift.
Also went over to FBC Mountain Park to give an orchid to one of my favorite mothers, Debbie Lamb!
She was SO kind to us when we out of our house because of the fire. Love you, Debbie!
Another of our partners works with the Arabic speaking folks in Norcross. I got a computer for the pastor and his wife to help them with their ministry.
Reboot makes it’s possible to get good quality computers at a great price.
We went to Azalea to help the kids with their homework. For some reason, there were about 150 huge flies on the windows in the back room. Super gross. I sprayed bug spray and wiped them out, but the fumes were pretty bad in the mission even with all the windows open. It reminded me of Madagascar. We used to live across the street from a dump. Huge amounts of flies.
Always good to see the kids!
J and I stopped at Northlake Mall to eat some quick Chinese food on the way home. We like to look at the coin shop and the book store too! J wanted some gum. Choices . . . .
What’s wrong with this picture?
This mannequin gave me the creeps.
I think it was the long eyelashes.
And if there was ever any doubt as to the brilliance of my children:

What an exercise day I had today!
I ran about 2 1/2 miles around my neighborhood. Weather was perfect! What I call “Nakuru weather,” like in the Rift Valley of Kenya at 6,000 ft!
Got home then went on a hike up Stone Mountain with Kathy. We made it to the top.
Gotta admit, I’m pretty tired now.
I’ve been off of exercising for about the last month or so. Seems like when I’m at my goal weight I don’t have as much motivation.
Glad I’ve been doing more the last couple of weeks.
I feel like this flower most of the time!
Pretty much sums it up for me.

This video is from my partner in ministry in Costa Rica, Ken Lander. This is from his coffee farm! Beauty!

Had a fun day today!
This morning I worked on editing a video for a friend of mine in ministry in Costa Rica, Ken Lander. He’s the director of the Common Cup which is a coffee house designed to help the youth of the community in Monteverde! Here’s a video I shot for him where he explains the coffee roasting process.Coffee Roasting
After lunch, Kathy took me to see Iron Man 2! It was a good movie, not as great as the first one, but still entertaining! Fun.
I’m back at home now, editing, burning dvds and taking care of my usual admin duties.
