Enjoyed delicious Chinese food with the whole family. I loved this peacock.
p
And this dragon!
d

Then Jesse and I cruised down to Chamblee to take care of some errands.

I got a stand for my iPhone/iPad. That’ll really help when I’m on the road.
ip
Also checked out Barnes and Noble. J and I love the book store!

I liked this head picture. It was from the “science” of Phrenology–how the shape of your skull determines your personallity!
p
I liked these quotes! This one is by David Copperfield.
m
e
We dropped off some supplies at the mission at Azalea.

Then over to the First Baptist Doraville to check on the office and mail and leave a back up hard drive.

Home now. Just finished vacuuming the house and scrubbing a stain in the carpet. The joy of housework.

Admin duties now.

Westside–the Best Side!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:40 pm

Had a great time preaching today at Westside BC in Snellville.
w
I particularly enjoyed listening to the piano. Wow! He could really wail on that thing!
r

This church has supported our ministry since the very beginning when we first got back from Madagascar in 1996! I liked seeing our newsletters!
m

We had a fun service.
c
I enjoyed the children’s service too. Although I always want them to stay in “big church” when I speak.
c
Baptists will get this inside joke.
n

Enjoyed a fun lunch with my girls.
t
Home to rest and work on admin duties. Not sure if any of you guys enjoy video games, but I’ve really had fun playing Uncharted. What an amazing game! Borneo, Nepal, Istanbul . . . incredible!

Amtrak! Dragon Con!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:54 pm

Jesse and I had a fun adventure today! He’s taking a sightseeing trip around the USA! I certainly remember those days.
a
We went to Amtrak to pick up his pass. It’s a cool building!
a
b
I remember when I first started traveling. It made me who I am today! I certainly wish him a bon voyage. I’m glad he’ll be back soon.
s

We also took a sight seeing trip to down town Atlanta, and to what seemed at times another universe!

I really enjoy sci fi and J went with me to scope out Dragon Con. I had such a fun time checking out all the aliens!
a
s

Get this reference?
p

Know where this car is from?
s

I had no idea that car burglars only went for dirty cars!
c
Fun day!

Came home to enjoy watching TV with Kathy and baby sit Kylie. It’s the first time she’d ever been left with another person but her Mom. She wasnt’ very happy about it, but soon was ok.

Looking forward to preaching at Eastside BC tomorrow!

This caterpillar stung J. Doesn’t it look like it’s from another planet too?
b

I liked the big green eyes.

Financials! Books! J!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:11 pm

Finished working on my financial report around midnight. Glad that’s done.

J and I delivered it to our Treasurer’s house this afternoon. Thick packet!
f
Ran 4 miles. Man, that full sun is tough.

J and I went to check out some book stores: our fun thing to do! I did more research on the section of India that we’re going to: the Tamil Nadu province. This temple is in the town where we’ll be staying.
s
It’s dedicated to Shiva and his wife Parvati.

J and I also like to visit Best Buy. This is a new Sony Camcorder. It actually projects an image of what was recorded. Groovy!
s
cp

I love all this tech stuff!

Borders is closing. : ( Weird to see all the empty shelves.
b

Pretty high tech directions to the check out counter.
a

I bought this book.
g

Admin duties now and rest.

Sure do love hanging out with my son!
j

I love this quote by Thoreau. Also born on July 12th!
t

Liked this one too.

Beautiful sunset!

Podcast! “Care. Share.” Weights! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:59 pm

Not sure if you’ve ever listened to one of my podcasts before.
p
Maybe you think, “It’s too complicated.” Checking out this podcast is EASY. Just click on the title and away you go!

I love this concept! Care about yourself. Care about others. And SHARE that concern. One of my best recording EVER. Check it out!

“Care. Share.”

You’ll be glad you did!

Had a fun lunch with Jesse. I noticed this sign on the new restaurant opening up.

t
Don’t know about you, but I don’t want a surprise in my rice.

J helped me at the mission with the kids.

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:20 pm

Had a hard run this morning. Did 4 miles. Pretty tired afterwards.

Jesse, Ashley and I went to the mission to work with the kids.
a

to

We also met up with Aslam and Toby from the North American Mission Board.
t

They came to experience Eid with us. They also interviewed some of the kids and parents about what Ramadan meant to them.
n
m
I liked learning more about Islam and the Koran. I find languages and cultures fascinating!
i
The little circle shows the number of the surah, or verse.
s
The symbol at the top shows the chapter.
c

Eid is the final day of Ramadan when my Muslim friends from Bangladesh stop their fast and have a big party. Everyone really dresses up. Even the kids!
l
j
s

n

I like the henna tattoos.
s

They often give gifts to each other. In a way, it seems like their Christmas.

It was fun to hang out with the community. I don’t get to spend time with the parents. I think of them as “Mustak’s Mom,” or “Sanjida’s Dad.” It’s cool to see the family resemblance.

REALLY delicious food!
f

Excellent fun.
a
j
Home now working on admin duties. Sure am glad that I have Jesse to help me with the financial report. He’s such a whiz at the computer stuff!

People think this is true. How can control ever be comfortable?
c

I know I do!

Transcription! Mission! Work out!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:22 pm

This morning I worked on more admin tasks.

I’m still transcribing my diary from the One Year Bible. I decided that if I was going to take the time to do that I should do it in a digital format.
b
So now I’m typing rather than writing it longhand.

I worked out on weights for about 20 minutes. Gotta start somewhere!

I sent off a new mp3 player to my friend in Texas for his birthday. Hope he likes it!
m

Kathy isn’t feeling that well so she rested this afternoon.

Jesse, Ashley and I went over to Azalea to help with the kids. A few of them came at about 6:15pm when we were about ready to leave. We felt sorry for them so we stayed till nearly 7:30pm.

Tomorrow we’ll celebrate Eid with the Bengali families. It’s the Muslim’s equivalent of Christmas with lots of gift giving.

It should be fun to get together with the families.

I liked this henna tatoo on Nishi’s hands.
n

Ashley bought Miles a notebook computer for his birthday. His computer doesn’t work.
a
And if its purified, doesn’t that mean you do NOT put additives?
w
Now THAT’s a slingshot!
ss

This light bulb was on the cover of Wired Magazine. It’s made of LEDs and uses a fraction of the electricity of regular or CFL light bulbs. Groovy!
