Run! Mission! Eid!
Had a hard run this morning. Did 4 miles. Pretty tired afterwards.
Jesse, Ashley and I went to the mission to work with the kids.
We also met up with Aslam and Toby from the North American Mission Board.
They came to experience Eid with us. They also interviewed some of the kids and parents about what Ramadan meant to them.
I liked learning more about Islam and the Koran. I find languages and cultures fascinating!
The little circle shows the number of the surah, or verse.
The symbol at the top shows the chapter.
Eid is the final day of Ramadan when my Muslim friends from Bangladesh stop their fast and have a big party. Everyone really dresses up. Even the kids!
I like the henna tattoos.
They often give gifts to each other. In a way, it seems like their Christmas.
It was fun to hang out with the community. I don’t get to spend time with the parents. I think of them as “Mustak’s Mom,” or “Sanjida’s Dad.” It’s cool to see the family resemblance.
REALLY delicious food!
Excellent fun.
Home now working on admin duties. Sure am glad that I have Jesse to help me with the financial report. He’s such a whiz at the computer stuff!
People think this is true. How can control ever be comfortable?
I know I do!
