Met up with Ashley at FBC Doraville.

Went to Penang to meet up with the folks from FBC Gateway.

Then to the missions to work with the kids!

We shot more pictures and video of the teams. I’ll edit that video soon.

Got gas on the way home.

I talked with my Mom tonight! She said that Dad had been brought home from the hospital. What an answer to prayer!!

I’m getting a video projector to enhance our presentations. I thinking of some fun ways to add to the experience that we provide. I got out our whirlwind simulator and cleaned it off this evening. I’m looking forward to getting that working again.

Also thinking about some ideas with bubbles. That’s been a fun part of our presentation. I did research on the best bubble formulas out there. Looks like it could be a lot of fun! Only thing better than a bubble is a whole LOT of bubbles. Or maybe one really BIG BIG Bubble!

We had our commitment time at the end where we pass a baton along to the next person who responds, “He’s counting on ME.” I think it’s a special time for everyone.

Then to the missions! We had severe storms in the Metro Atlanta area last night. Blew down power lines. Some of the kids said they didn’t have power.

Ash and I enjoyed briefing our teams on Islam and Hinduism today! We talked to them about Jesus’ landing pad a new Whirlwind Mission Tradition! All the teams will sign it before they leave. Explored al Madina! And the Shiv Mandir Hindu Temple at Global Mall! Also enjoyed delicious Indian food at Ashiana with our team from Cheraw BC, SC.
Ash and I worked on the logistics for the teams coming next week. Good thing we did as one group had failed to tell us that they were not coming!

It’s a lot of work to figure it out, then tell the managers and the other missionaries. All takes time for sure! Enjoyed visiting the sites and checking on the teams. POWERFUL thunderstorms on the way home. I actually heard the arc of lightning today BEFORE I saw the flash. I’d never experienced that before. The lightning struck about 100 ft from me! Admin duties now. Here’s the schedule for Ramadan. Who gets $5.00 worth of gas? Really?

Then went to the missions to check on the teams.

I got the new tags for my cars this weekend. Glad to have that done!

My birthday marked the 25th time I’ve read the entire Bible cover to cover! I bought the NIV edition of the One Year Bible today. Starting fresh. Pretty exciting!

I’ve had a relaxing weekend!

Recorded a new podcast Friday afternoon. Always fun!

Kathy and I went to Provinos to get a free supper for my birthday.

Then went to see Lone Ranger. It was just ok.

Finished editing, uploading and burning a dvd for the teams last week. Glad to have that in the mail!

We had a birthday for me and Miles’ Mom tonight!

I liked the picture they made me!

Jesse also made a PDF version of my One Year Bible. It’s basically a diary of things that happened to us each day over the last 25 years. It was the only thing that I worried about losing when we had our fire in 2008. Now it’s preserved permanently in digital form. GROOVY!

We all had fun whacking the pinata! It was surprisingly durable!!

I enjoyed watching Miles and Jesse lift weights.


Even Ashley gave it a whirl!

I sure was happy to see my car back and COLD air blowing in from these vents today!

Ashley and I did our final briefing with our teams from Florida and Tennessee!

I enjoyed getting to know them. Had fun shooting pictures with the Sublime Blue Mariachi Hat and as mannequins at Laredo Western Wear! Fun! Visited all the teams at the missions today!

Then took them to Al Madina!

Also went to Global Mall and the Shiva Manir Hindu Temple. They had a new pries there. Had never met him before. He was still very friendly and open.

We at lunch at the Ashiana Indian food.

After lunch I went to pay for my car repairs and pick it up. The mechanic had driven it to the shop I normally take it to, T and G. Sure was glad to get her fixed up.

I was especially looking forward to having AC again! Valve job looks good. I even have a clicker that works now!

My stomach is kind of burning. In British English we call it a “ditchy tummy.”
